He thought about it. "Ummm... not really," he said shaking his head. "Not b'fore Jack... I don't really remember much before I became a newsie." He wasn't really sure why, but he knew he didn't remember much.

She gave him a soft grin, "I have lots of stories.. not all of them are as exciting as some of what I heard when I came to town. About the strike.. and Jack.. being a big strike leader.." she grinned at him. "It's impressive, bebe.."

Mush nodded in agreement. "It really was. He and Davey made all these speeches about how we should be treated right, and how the pay we were receving was far from enough. He even talked to Joe Pulitzer himself! It was really cool, and we won, so it was neat."

She giggled, "I saw the picture from the paper.. you guys looked so happy.." She smiled up at him. "You know, you guys did a good thing. You stood up, and made sure you were heard.. it's kinda.. inspiring.."

He shrugged. "We just did what was right by us. It just turned out that it was... inspring. We got lucky," he said chuckling. "But I'm glad you like it. I mean, honestly, it was kinda coll rebelling like that."

She chuckled and shook her head, "I'm southern, mon ami. I understand the whole rebelling thing." She smiled a bit. "It's really amazing what you did.. But then again, I think you're pretty amazing anyway.." She blushed a bit, she really needed to start thinking before she said what she was thinking.

Mush smiled brightly to her. "Well thanks," he said nodding. "I think you're pretty amazing too," he said before he kissed her cheek. She was so pretty when she blushed.

She just blushed some more before she smiled at him. "Really? You think so?" It wasn't like people hadn't told her she was amazing, but sometimes Lanna didn't take compliments like she should. She grinned, smiling, "Thank you.." Fortunately this wasn't one of those times. She knew Mush meant every word.

She just blinked, then she chuckled. "You get me saying really a lot.." She was so happy, and she was warm, she tucked her feet underneath her and watched the fire. "You've never met anyone like me before?"

She laughed a bit and snuggled against his chest, "You've got charm by the cart load, bebe. Maybe it's just rubbing off on me.." It was still nice to hear, she had a sparkling personality? A southern girl like her could get used to the compliments.

Mush smiled and held her close as well. "Naww... I got New England charm, that's a lot different than southern charm, and yours is better." He ran a hand down her hair and stroked her back as well.

She laughed abit and sighed, "Oui, I suppose you're right." She grinned up at him. "You've got a rep, bebe. It's flattering to know you've never met a girl like me before.." And it really made her happy that he thought she was one of a kind. It was nice.

He shrugged. "Hey... you're one of the few girls who acctually believes what I say. Most girls think I say this stuff to all the girls I meet. It's not true... See you, you believe me, which is a nice change. Makes me wanna say more true stuff!"
