He shook his head at the money question, feeling guilty. "But..I do have some trinkets.."He wasn't about to tell her he was supposed to give his stolen goods to Nicholas Goodwell. The man would probably kill her if he found out for all he knew. "Let's try a reading in general I suppose."He said, fishing out the things in his pocket for something that would help her.

Isabela shook her head and held up her hands. "No, no, it's fine," she said with a smile. "I trust you," she said nodding. "Just, if you ever think about it... just ten cents would be useful," she said with a smile to him. She started searching for her Jack of clubs as a wind picked up. "Looks like you might have to help me hold these cards in place. If you agree to help me with that, then no pay is required, that alright?" she asked. October was really making outside card reading difficult here in New York.

He nodded and then helped, smiling a bit. At least she was nice..he was so used to the thieves he worked with and not someone who seemed genuinely to care about him. He held them in place gladly, not feeling bad about not being able to pay for it anymore. "Thanks..you see, I was worried about that."

Isabela smiled at him. "Don't worry, really, it's alright." Her two brothers came over to the two of them to help them hold down the cards and to watch the reading. Isabela started to look through her deck and found the Jack of clubs. She set it down on the ground. "This card will represent you for this reading," she said as she contineued to shuffle. "It isn't you forever, just for now, and just for this," she said. She then started to lay out the cards. As she did she said, "I am going to be the one reading the cards and I'll try and help you to understand their meanings, but it is you who must interperate them for you. Meaning I'll help, but you will be the one who decides what they really mean." She laid out a row of three above the Jack with the middle card directly above the jack. After the first row she put a card off to the right side about half way down the first row. She then laid down a second row under the first where the middle card covered the jack. She then placed a card off to the right side again, like she had with the first row. After this she laid down one last row of three on the bottom. She placed the remaining cards from the deck in her pocket.
She started with the card in the upper left hand corner of the reading. "This card opposed you in the past," she said as she turned the card over to show the nine of diamonds. "Fear is what is represented by this card. It may have been your own fear that got you into a bad position. It may have been someone else's fear of you that pushed them away." Though she wasn't certain, these were just suggestions of what she thought it could mean.
The middle card in the top row was next. "In the past this card affected you. Though, it may have been in either a positive or negative manner" she explained pointing to the card. She turned it over to show the seven of spades. "This card means humilliation. It may have been your own humilliation, or perhaps you humilliated someone else," she said offering the suggestion. "
One card remained in the first row. "This card will assist you in the future," she explained. She turned the nine of clubs face up so everyone could see it. "This card is Stagnation. In short, it means lazyness," she said with a smirk. "Now, in this case since it is assisting you it may mean the lazyness of others, their lack of awareness, or action," she said with a smile. She always liked the good cards, much more uplifting than the others.
Next she moved onto the card that was half way between the first and second row. "This cars is the transition between the past and the present." When she turned it over she found the two of spades. "This is the gain card. It could be a material gain, or perhaps an emotional or mental one, as in gaining experience, or a new skill. This probably happened recently," she said nodding slightly.
She then went onto the middle row. The card on the far left is where she would continue to. "This card is opposing you at the present," since this was the present row. The Jack of hearts was turned face up in the formation. "This could mean two things. It could mean a man of strong emotions, or it could be Jealousy. Being jealous of someone else's valuables, power, or possibly, current emotional situation." As in having a relationship with another person.
The next card was the one in the middle of the middle row, currently covering the Jack of clubs that was being used to represent him at the current him at the current time. "This card is affecting you right now," she said. She turned the card over to show them the five of diamonds. "This card is the card of confusion. This could be positive in the way that it's someone else's confusion that you are reaping the benefits from, or some other way that you may think fits better. It may also be negative because you are the one who is currently confused."
Now there was only one card left in the middle row. "This card is assisting you in the present." She smiled at him as she turned over the four of Diamonds. "This card represents charity. Keep in mind this is assiting you, so this is a good thing. Someone has, or may give you charity, which you should probably accept since it's a good thing, or you will or have given someone charity, which benefited you. After all, what goes around comes around!" She laughed a little. She liked that saying, probably because it related to what she did so well.
She then went to the card that was half way between the second and third row. "This is the card that is the transition between the present and future," she explained. She then turned over the seven of diamonds. "This is futility, or... useless. Now it doesn't mean nessisarily that you're useless, just maybe something that you'll put a lot of effort into will turn out to be for no good at all. Or perhaps something someone will try to do with or to you will not go over right, and all their work will have been for nothing," she said offering suggestions yet again.
There was only one row left now, that of the future. She started with the card on the far left. "This card will be the one opposing you in times to come," she said as she turned over the card. She found there the Queen of Hearts. "This card could also mean two things. One it could be a woman of strong emotions, and two it could mean Compassion. So this means that several things could happen. For one a woman could get you into a bad position that you may not want to be in. Or you may show compassion to someone and end up getting yourself in trouble for it." Both of which were very likely.
Next came the card in the middle of the last row. "This card will affect you in the future, either in a positive or negative manner," she said with a smile. Turning the card over she found the four of clubs. "This card means Responsibility. A positive way might be you taking responsibility for something you did and getting rewarded for it. Then again, taking responsibility may get you in trouble, whether or not you did something or not. If you are held responsible for something bad you'll probably end up in trouble."
Last was the card on the lower right hand corner. "This card will assist you in the future," she said nodding slightly. She turned the card over to show a red joker. This was considered, in her deck to be, the life card. "This card represents a new beginning in your life, a good one. You will prosper and things will get better, this card garontees it," she said with a smile.
That was the end of the reading. She looked over the cards quite satisfyed with what she had. "Any questions? Because if you have them you may want to ask them before these cards blow away," she said smiling to him.

His eyes were still wide in awe. How did she even know what was going on? Had she seen him before? She hadn't mentioned any names but it was still amazing. His mouth was wide open as well, unable to speak for the longest time. Then finally he made out.
"I didn't know people could do that..How did you?"

She laughed a little. "It's fate all in the deal of the cards," she said. "NOw if you don't have any questions about the reading we might want to pick these up before they all blow away," she said laughing lightly. This was a very interesting boy, so intreuged with her ability to simply read cards, something she'd been doing all her life and found as normal as water in a river.

"I do'nt know...I'm in some kind of trouble."he looked at her, nervous again. "Do you know how to help me?With anything?I'd do anything. I just can't stay where I am anymore but if I leave, I'll get hurt."

She looked at him concerned. She wasn't going to ask where he stayed, but it seemed at this point in time, she was seeing more and more of these newsies that were getting themselves in trouble, and getting hurt. "Well, of course, you are more than welcome to come and stay with me at my house for now, until the trouble goes away. Or maybe you could go to one of those... news boy living houses," by which she meant the lodging house, just didn't know what it was called, "I'm sure that if you paid your way they'd take care of you as well."

"I..I already tried there."He looked down at his shoes."They..the people they found me there and I Can't go back, not now."He gulped. "Or he'll find me again and I'll get it even worse."His eyes were still wide as he shuddered at the very thought. He only hoped Nicholas Goodwell hadn't already been told.

"Well, then maybe you can come and stay with me for a few days until the trouble goes away! I have a spare couch, and if you earn your keep it shouldn't be problem. That is if you want," she wasn't going to foce him after all.

Puck slowly ambled into the room and sat on the floor. He looked ackward as he struggled to take his shoes off. "Ahhh... cheese and crackers! My feet hurt..." he mumbled as he reached down and rubbed his feet. He looked around as he tried to decipher where he was.

Blaize, on his way home, groaned to himself, rubbing at his face. It was late enough as it was, but that hadn't been his fault, really. He had gotten held up. On what he wouldn't say, but still. Crossing into some sparse light, he stretched his body like a cat and continued on, stepping lightly off the sidewalk and hurrying into the inky darkness of the street.

Puck lifted his face upwards just as he saw the image of Blaize walk by. Puck instantly felt his faces temperature rise. He blinked rapidly. "Is that...? No..."

Mumbling to himself, accent heavy since he was tired and annoyed at himself for being out so late, Blaize kicked at a stray rock, hearing it clatter off a little ways down the cobblestone. He hadn't felt like himself lately...and wasn't sure why.

Pucks heart began to race. "It couldn't be him, could it?" he whispered much louder tahn he intended. Quickly he placed his shoes back onto his feet. I have to say something! he thought to himself.
