"Slinks, Mr. Da- Patrick." She replied, a smile twirking the corners of her mouth. Slinks leaned back off the bar enough for her arms to drop closer to her body, crossing casually in her lap.

He grinned at her, removing a cigarette from his mouth. "And what is it that you do, Miss Slinks?" he asked, tipping the bar tender generously, and obviously, as he brought her drink.

Choosing not to read to much into the question - and what it could imply - she shrugged, the picture of someone who had been asked a question enough that the answer had become routine. "Newsie, other odd jobs as could ge' me money 'nough t' stay 't a lodging house," Keeping her answers and voice light, she weighed what she knew of Patrick against what she knew of her world. And decided.
"You yerself don' seem like the kind 'f man to spend yer time workin' round down here... What is it that you do, Patrick?" She asked, picking up her drink and nodding to him in thanks before taking a sip.

"Well Miss," he began, signaling subtly for the bartender to bring her another drink. "It just so happens that I'm in the business, of offering people like you, business." He leaned back in his chair casually, puffing at his cigarette. "No one should go through life struggling to make ends meet, and that's where we. . . I come in."

"..Buisness..." She looked at Darcy questioningly, an eyebrow raising a notch. "Such as..?" Slinks, to be frank, was interested.

"Oh you know," Patrick began casually, removing his cigarette from his mouth. "Liftin', nickin', stealin'. . ." he paused, blowing out a puff of smoke. "Takin' from those who don't deserve what they've got, you know, it's all fair game isn't it?" the question came out sounding much more like a statment, and Patrick flashed a smile at her. "None of that low demeaning work, I'm talking about real opportunity here," he lowered his voice slightly, leaning in closer to her, "With real money to be made."

The other eyebrow rose. "Righ' Robin Hoodish, ain'tche?" She murmered, looking at him with a faint smile. "Sounds li' fun," Fingers twitching slightly, Slinks picked up her drink again, forcing the digits to stay still.

"Fun indeed," he said, putting his drink down. Resting his arm on the bar he turned on his stool to fully face her, still smiling charmingly of course. "What d'ya say?"

Blinking, Slinks cursed her slowness mentally. She should've seen this coming, bugger it all! Looking something akin to a deer caught in lantern light, she shook her head. Albiet hesitatingly. One could never know what another's reaction to being turned down in buisness would be.
"Can.. Might'n I be able to get back t'ye on tha', Mr. Darcy?" She asked tentatively. - Though, that didn't mean that she was saying no. Not at all.

His features visably softened and his smile changed into that simply of friendly. "O' course Miss Slinks, please, take all the time you neeed, it's not like I would ever force you into anythin'," he said kindly, sliding another drink her way.

((New Day))
Dazzle didn't drink, she didn't know why, she just had never had any interest in drinking. Maybe it was because of all the children at the orphanage that had gotten in trouble because of drunk people. Sighing she looked around, then back at the counter. She was trying to decide whether she wanted to get a drink or not.

Gabbi wandered into the room and up to the bar. She didnt really know what she wanted to eat, so she signaled to the bartender to get her a drink. She sighed as her stomach growled and she reflected on what had just happened. She smiled slightly and drank up, setting some coins aside for food and for papers. So drinks werent really part of her original plan... well, what harm could come of it? She glanced over at Dazzle. "Orderin anythin or are yous just gonna watch deh bartendah all night?" she asked.

Dazzle turned in her chair, not even hearing anyone come up to the bar stools. "Of course I ain't gonna look at da bartendah all night, I don't think I was even lookin' at him ta begin with." She sighed and ordered a drink and something to eat, but not sure what, "Dere, happy?"

Gabbi smiled. "I was just askin" she said. She, too, finally ordered something to eat. "Whats yer name, kid?" she asked. The girl could have been the same age, older, or younger then her... But she was still going to call her kid.

"Kid? Ya can't be much oldeh den me if at all ta be callin' me a kid," she snapped. Taking a big bite of what it was she ordered she about spit it out, it tasted that bad. She couldn't even talk around it and she didn't know if she wanted to spit it out or try and swallow it. She did know one thing if she was able to do the latter then she would but she highly doubted it.
