Tuberculousis has hit the city!

Here's how it's going to work:[/b]

To help with the reality of such an outbreak, I'm not leaving it up to anyone as to whether their characters become infected. There has already been a random drawing (from a hat thanks fto Flanna ) and members have been selected.

I will be periodically sending out PMs to those who were chosen, informing them that they've caught the illness.

Now don't worry, I know in reality TB was very deadly, but I'm not making anyones character die from it! If you really want to you can, but it's up to you.

Now, What is TB you may ask, and how do I portray it?

Well, here's the deal --

Tuberculousis is a disease that attacks the lungs. It can be passed from sneezing, coughing, etc. It ususall results in areas that are over crowded and have bad water systems, poverty is also a factor.

Sypmtoms: constant coughing, coughing up blood.
weight loss
fatigue
fever
chills
night sweats
loss of appetite
pain when breathing or coughing

It can attack other organs after it lives in the lungs for a while.

Treatment in this time period:
Lots of cold, clear air, enforced bed rest, forced eating.



Though it may cause some newsies to drop like flies, it'll sure makes a heck of a headline!
