((New day)) Mollie took a seat at the Cafe, reading the menu for a little too long. She was bored and alone... she still hadnt managed to neet anyone, even though that was her initial reason for coming to this part of the city. She sighed and figured out what she wanted, then placed her order.

Hawkeye pushed open the door to the cafe, muttering, "Dammit," when she noticed all the tables were full. She glanced over her shoulder at Pepper and shrugged before heading toward a table occupied by a girl who looked to be about the same age as herself.
"Er, mind if we join you?" she asked, motioning to herself and Pepper.

Mollie looked up at the two girls and nodded yes.
"Sure, I dont mind." She said, taking a sip of her coffee. "Me names Mollie." She introduced herself.

"Thanks," she slid into a seat and leaned back in her chair, "'M Hawkeye." She figured Pepper could introduce herself. Not recognizing Mollie, she asked, "You ain't from 'Hattan, aye? Or are you new?"

"Naw, I'se aint a newsie. Not any more, anyway." She said. She was relucatant to say her profession, people didn't take kindly to thieves. She only did it because she needed to in order to get by. Some people called her lazy, others hid their things from her, but the majority of people just left her to be alone.

"The name's Pepper," she said introducing herself to Mollie and taking a seat at the table. Being of the nosey sort that she is, she asked "Why aintcha a newsie anymore?"

She shrugged, "It just aint my thing. I mean, Ise didn't sell in New York or nothin, I sold in Boston, but I figure its pretty much de same in both places." she said, setting the coffee down.

Hawkeye raised her eyebrows, "Oh yeah? What's Boston like? Always wanted to go there, but never felt like walking that far," she smirked, "And the trolleys eventually notice you've been sneaking on them after a while," she paused, then hastily added, "Not that I would know from experience, of course." But the smirk she was trying to suppress implied otherwise.

Mollie smirked slightly at that. "Ise know how dat goes... Boston's nice, a lot like New York but its a bit different.. I donno. Its smaller, dats for sure." She said, leaning back and sipping her drink. "But it aint so easy to sell papers." she said. She wanted to add {or pickpocket things}, but she figured that wouldn't go over well.

Hawkeye nodded. Referring to Mollie's comment about the size of Boston, she said, "Mmm, smaller, not as many people to buy, huh?" She leaned forward, resting her elbows on the table, her chin leaning on her clasped hands, "So what brings you to New York then?" Being someone who used to move from place to place often, she was always curious to hear what brought other people to the area.

She shrugged. "I needed a change a scene, and New York was de closest place I could think of, I guess." She said. her real wason was begause i was far easier to pcikpocket in New York, she was frquently getting caught in Boston. People had started rememering who she was.

Pepper leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms, "So what is it that ya do if you ain't a newsie? S'pose you gotta earn a living somehow."

Mollie bit her lip slightly. "Well, dont take dis de wrong way, but Ise is a common theif... a pickpocket, dipper, youse know.." she said. "Part time, anyway. Ise also shine shoes." She added with a shrug. She sighed, she hated telling people the first part.

Pepper rose an eyebrow. She turned her head towards Hawkeye, "Better keep ya money in your front pockets." A slight smirk began to curl upon her face.
She was kidding 'round with the girl. She didn't understand why Mollie would have told Hawkeye and her in the first place 'bout her being a thief and all. She herself probably would have conjured up some witty excuse or lie.

Hawkeye smirked at Pepper's comment. She said, "Why look so ashamed?" She threw her hands in the air, "This is New York, mind you. We ain't gonna shun you for being a thief like, what?" She looked to Pepper, "Maybe half the people here? Maybe more?" She shrugged, "But really, if you want to be upset about something, be upset about something good," she said, grinning.
