Stripping off his shirt, Ace laid it gently on the rocks and spliced through the water, shaking his head a bit at the biting frost of it. Taking a breath, he began to do laps, back and forth, just swimming with no real purpose in mind. It woke him up, plus was great for excercise.
And he wanted to think. Being a leader wasn't always fun and games, it was hard work. Real work. Protecting your territory, your boys...And he was worried, specially now. It was too quiet for New York, way too quiet.

Fancy strolled down to the riverbanks quietly. Her mind was off in another world again. When she saw Ace she smiled. Finally someone to talk to, so she strolled down to the edge and sat down. "Heya Acey... nice day for a swim eh?" she loved to tease him...

Stepping down towards the river, she saw what she'd come to see. -..Well, at least who. The Bronx newsies told her about the river and it usually being a place Ace went to think. Well, they sure called that one.
Sitting on a relatively flat rock, Slinks just sat, waiting for him to notice.

At their voices, Ace brushed his hair off his face, blinking at them. "What are you guys doin heah?" He asked as he swam over.

She knew she had promised Prince to stay in there territory or Manhattan of course. But everything was the same and it was getting boring, could you really blame a girl. Besides she had seen tons of the other burroughs kids around Queens. As long as she kept her head low and didn't run into Spot or Rusty she figured she'd be alright.
Dazzle loved water, it soothed her and she wanted to think. At least thats what she kept telling herself. She knew she was here just to be disobedient. She felt like a rebel today and didn't feel like staying in Queens when she finished selling early today. Dazzle looked out at the water and let her thoughts take her where every they wanted to go.

Jackle strolled down the riverbank. His home away form the lodging house so to speak he loved it by the bank. He'd slept many a night here. Harlem was his favorite spot to hang out that is if ya didn't find him in the Bronx sellin' or working. He didn't realize the girl until he almost ran into her. "Sorry ma'am" He tipped his newsies hat, then realized she must be a newsie too. He walked a few paces away and sat down looking at the water. Wondering why he hadn't seen the Bronx leader. He then figured he was probably dealing with the issues of the war. He looked half dazzed as he got lost in his own thoughts.

Dazzle jumped a little when the boy talked, she hadn't been listening to anything but her thoughts. She murmured, "Its alright," and then looked back at the water. She realized that the boy intended to stay and this annoyed her. She never could be quite when someone else was around and she knew her curiosity would get the better of her.
"Hey," she smiled as she looked over at the boy, "Names Dazzle." She looked expectantly at him.

Jackle turned his head breaking away from his thoughts. "Jackle" He walked over a bit spiting into his hand and extending it half not expecting Dazzle to shake. He smiled at her.
