Nick smiled and called after her, "Take your time. No hurry in starting work today," it was a bit late and there was little chance they'd get much done. So they'd start first thing tomorrow. She would be rather interesting... he turned away from the stair case and went to get himself a drink.

Rodger had a firm grip of Slinks as he dragged her into Nick's headquarters. He called out, his deep voice booming.

Nick came from the upstairs. "Well, hello Roger, and who is this?" he said looking at Slick. She looked like a very interesting character, but if Roger had to hold her like that then she must not have been one to join willingly.

"Ise didn't do nothin! Ise was just standin' dere mindin' my own business and Snyder says 'you come with me' and Ise said 'what I do?' and hes like 'you were truspassing, stealing, blah blah blah' " she siad really fast switcing from a deep mocking voice to a high voice "and now . . I'm here" she said very proud of her nice detailed story.

Nick raised an eyebrow at her. Well that was... a quick explanation. "Okay..." he said blinking a little. He wsa still trying to take it all in. "Thanks Roger," he said dismissing Nicholas', 'friend' before he turned his gaze back to Slick. "Sounds like you were treated real unfair," he said with a frown. "But Nicholas gotcha out of the refuge huh?" he said. He had an air about him that made him look charming, and just made several people feel at ease.

"Ya Ise guess , but he hit me" she said in a 'snobbish' tone that you could tell she was joking. She wasn't yet sure if she could trust this 'Nick Young' guy but for now he seemed OK.

"Did he really? Well... Nicholas has been known to do that. He's a friend of mine." That he wouldn't deny. "He can be a little rough at times. Ya just got to go along with what he said, and he'll be good to ya," he promised. "But I ain't no Nicholas Goodwell, I just work with him. You can trust me," he said stating it as though it were a given.

"No, no he didn't. Nicholas and I have been friends for a while," he said nodding. "But still, I can promise you that there are worse positions you could be in. Like, for example, if you do really good work, I'll give you a cut of what you make. And beyond that, once your sentance is worked off I'll pay you more, promise," he said to her with a charming grin.

He shrugged. "I suppose so. Though it ain't me to say when that is. I'll hafta check with Nicholas for when you're done," he stated. "Though the money you'd be makin' not sure why you'd wanna quit. But yeah. Once ya sentance is worked off... youse can quit if ya want," he said with a charming smile to her.
