She staggered backwards, and completely lost her footing as she fell to the ground. Man for bein' such a scab, the guy had a solid punch. She stood up at the coment and glared back at him. "You jerk..." she said under her breath. "I know my place!" she said louder, and in her normal pitch, instead of sounding like a boy. She brought a hand up to her throbbing jaw and rubbed it gently. "You gotta learn ta have some compassion Leone!" she screamed. ...was it good that she said his name? For some reason she didn't think so. Too late now. She was far too mad to be thinking straight now. Her hands balled into fists again. He said one negative word to her, and she would make sure he'd pay.

Eyes narrowing at the mention of his name, Leone reached down and grabbed her by the front of her shirt, dragging her to her feet. He reached out with one hand and snatched the hat from her head, ruthlessly throwing it to the side.
Staring hard at her, rage filled his vision. "You." He hissed as he recognized her. Foul friend of his brother. Reaching back, he backhanded her, hard. The strength he used on Ace, even as a child. "Compassion? What is that, pray tell?" He hit her again, twirling his hand in her long hair, balling it up and using it as a grip.

She knew she shouldn't have said his name. She gritted her teeth and yelled straight out as he gripped her hair. She didn't scream, but it really hurt. "Compassion... you know... caring for another human being..." she said a little weakly. "But you wouldn't have that would you? You inhuman jerk!" she said as she spit in his face. She was asking for it wasn't she?

"Ah...that compassion." He reached up and wiped the spit off his face with one hand, smirking cruelly. "No, can't say i do." He pulled her to the fountain, and let her stare at the water, gripping her hair up toward the back of her neck, so she couldn't do much more then what he allowed her to.
"You like water, prissy princess?" He dunked her head in without another word.

Prince breathed in a whole mouth full of water. She was mad, wet, and was not gonna take this anymore. She stopped her watery panic and got control... then slammed a fist into his stomach hard as she could. Once she'd done that she kicked his leg going by guess alone where his body parts were based on his location and hers. She hoped she got lucky at least once.

Gasping a little for breath, Leone staggered, but didn't let go. He had a very high tolerance for pain, but her aim was pretty good from where she was, and he cursed everything he could think of as his grip tightened and he pushed her head down as far as he could get, hoping he'd somehow reach the bottom and crack her skull open.

She didn' thit the bottom, thank goodness, but the extra rush of water was not helpful. She breathed even more in. She swung at him again, but missed. She was in trouble... she felt like an idiot for even starting this.

Slinks had been walking around in the crowd, trying to shed a few papers - and not entirely succeeding... - when she came upon the fountain. And after about two seconds of jaw dropped, pure fire shock, those selfsame papers hit the ground and the expression on her face was not pretty. She was pissed.
And three seconds later she was jumping onto Leone's back, beating him around the head and neck with a balled up fist, screaming incoherent curses upon him and his... mother...

Again, slightly caught off in a state of shock, Leone let go of Prince - roughly too - long enough to stagger backwards, grabbing ahold of Slink's arm and slinging her off of him and against the edge of the fountain, as hard as he could.
"What the hell! Do you just pop up from the ground?!"

Prince took her head out of the fountain. Air! Wonderful glorious air. She could breathe. But wait, why had he let her-? Just then her eyes fell on Leone and Slinks. Well that explained it. She saw Slinks hit the founain. In a second Prince was back on him. She ran at him and punched him in face, kicked him in the knee, sent another fist at his stomach, and the flurry of punches and kicks continued from there, water going everywhere.

Sally had been walking home when she saw the scene before her.
Looked like a couple newsies were about to get soaked.
That definitely made for grand entertainment.
Pulling out a cigarette she leanged against the railings, taking a long drag as she watched the scene unfold.

Leone, who was very tired of dealing with these two, let go of Slinks' shirt and grabbed Prince's wrists after she landed quite a few hits, hooking his foot under her leg and yanking so he could push her to the ground. Once he pinned her under one knee, he drew his fist back and let it slam against her face.

Getting to her feet with some difficulty - and hearing a small pop from the general direction of her ribs - Slinks paused only long enough to stand steady before aiming a kick at Leone's wrist, arm, ribs, whatever she could get. And one at his head that went wide by a few inches.

Geeze, that was gonna leave a mark. Prince fought back hard as she could. She lifted a leg up kicking him as hard as she could hoping to him him where ever she could. Be it a knee, shin... or somewhere a little more painful. The later was her aim, but she wan't sure how good her aim was from his postion. Words had no impact on him, she just wished she were a little stronger, then she could take the guy out. In the back of her mind she wondered... what happened to her hat?

"Ger'off!" He took a moment from Prince, who wasn't doing too much from where he pinned her, and slammed a fist against Slink's side, where he knew she had landed, as hard as he could possibly manage, before turning and boxing Prince against the side of her face.
Damn these newsies.
