"Prince," she said putting her hand in his, remembering that she shouldn't spit in it. She was dealing with an adult here after all. "Dat's what dey call me 'round heah anyway," she said with a slight shrug. Though, Prince was curious, she thought this guy's practice was in the Bronx, so why was he in Queens? She decided not to think too much into it and just kept the congenial smile on her face.

"yes...it is." John smiled "I decided to take a lunch and i came over to queens for a bite to eat and a paper. Luckily, the office has been quiet. I was going to head back as soon as i caught up with the news" John patted the paper that was next to him.

Prince smiled and nodded. "Well, welcome ta New York. I... read one of da headlines said you was new to da city, so... hope it's all woikin' out alright for ya," she said nodding a little. Come to think of it she should go... probably strange seeing a news boy talking to a doctor. Completely different.

She waved to the man and watched him go. Nice guy... she'd have to remember he was there if she ever knew anyone who needed a doctor. She sat back down on the ledge of the fountain, and when he was gone she looked up at the sky. She was a lone again, and back to just relaxing for the time being.

<<new>> Coop walked casually along the streets, stopping at the fountain. He dug in his pocket and pulled out a small, golden Russian cross. He smiled as he looked down at it. My promise.
Emmanuelle sat on the couch facing Coop. She smiled as she held onto the small golden necklace around her neck. Coop placed his hand around hers. "What's this your always messin' with?" "It's my promise." She could see that Coop had no idea what she was talking about and the blank look on his face made her laugh a little. "My father gave it to me before he died. He made me promise on this that I'd live, be strong, you know? Maybe even get away from this place." She shrugged. "A lot a' good I'm doin keepin that." Coop nodded, putting both hands behind his head. He closed his eyes, with a peaceful look on his face. "Nah, your doin' alright." Emmanuelle gazed at him, admirably. She grabbed Coop's hand and opened it. She took off the necklace and placed it in his palm. "My dreams are on hold. Things are gettin' bad around here. I've been tryin to ignore it and I know you have too. Just promise me no matter what happens you'll survive. Even if it means leavin all this behind. And if you leave...never go back to it." Coop stared deep into Emmanuelle's eyes, seeing she was on the verge of tears. He closed the necklace in his hands. "You don't need to help me wit anything. I'll be ok. I am ok." Emmanuelle put her head down quickly to hide her tears. Coop was usually annoyed with crying and she knew. He lifted her head up toward him. "I promise."
Coop closed the necklace in his hand. "Sorry, Manny." He tossed the necklace into the fountain, watching it sink slowly to the bottom.

"Ya know, i might not be dat smart, but i really dont think thats where a necklace goes, buddy." A voice said calmly a little ways away. Jennifer sat on the edge of the fountain, legs crossed at the ankles and her hat sideways on her head. "Unless of course, you are trying to get rid of it, which by all means, go ahead and do, except its really pretty." Her eyebrow raised slightly in question.

Coop turned to the voice, a little startled. He looked at her for a few second and then turned back to the necklace. "I have no use for it now."

Her lips turned up into a smirk, "Ah....So it had a use? Other then hanging around a neck, that is." She leaned over a bit, "Its a cross too. That's religion you're throwin away, bud." She stuck her hand in and scooped it up, rolling it inbetween her fingers. "What? A girl give it to you and you were scorned and decided to get even? or what, decide it didnt go with your outfit?"
She was being harsh, but for a reason. First impressions and all.

"Nope." Jennifer answered easily, "I was put on this Earth to do two things. Annoy people and die." She flashed him a smile, looking down at the cross. "Its very pretty, but you didn't answer my question."

He smirked a little. "And what question was that?"

She raised her hand and let the cross dangle, waving it back and forth. "Whats with the throwing of the pretty jewelry?" Her eyebrow raised as she matched his smirk. "Kind of sentimental too, arent you? You watched it sink instead of walking off. Which means this meant something to you. Am i wrong?"
