This large warehouse-like room has a few shabby tables and broken chairs set up, and is usually the location of the best parties...
((locked for borough war purposes, will re-open soon))

Spot took a seat at what seemed to be the head of the room. He sighed, wondering how he was going to explain this to his newsies. He waited for them to join him.

Gamble shoved her hands in her pockets and sauntered into the lodging house. "Heya, Spot... What's going on?" She asked. She had gotten a message to go to her lodging house but no one had told her why. Gamble raised an eyebrow at him.

She sat down in a chair near Spot, but didn't lounge, sitting so as her attention was focused solely on Spot. "I didna say 't wasn't, Spo', mate." Seeing the drawn and pinched look on his normally emotionless features, she took a guess at what all this was about. "This 'bou' Spike?"

Flare looked up from her perch by the window at Spot's tone of voice. She had never heard him sound so, nervous? Worried even? Concerned she moved in close to where everyone was gathered. Being new, she wasn't too sure what was going on and finally had to ask, "Who's Spike?"[/size]

Red came out of a room and stood just behind Spot, hands in his pockets. His hair fell around his face as he looked around at the kids. A few he knew, a few he didn't. "Hey guys." He said softly.

Spot cleared his throat, silencing whatever chatter had been going on through out the room, "Ok, well only four of yous is hea'h but I might as well start." Spot got up and started pacing, "As some of you know, Spike, a younger Brooklyn newsie, was found dead today in Manhatten. Nows I've talked to Jack Prince and Ace and Jack don't wanna do nuttin' about it, saying it aint his fault someone got killed on his property. Well I says dats crap. So does Ace, so we'se got ourselfs a mini war ting goin on," Spot paused and gasped for breath, "Now I need to know dat you all is up to fighin' for Spike, for Brooklyn. Cuz if you aint, well Brooklyn ain't a home to you know more and I want you to pack youa'h tings and git out. You guys wit me or what?"

SlingShot thought this over. A boy found dead in Brooklyn? Sounded like this was really bad. She hesitated before reacting. She raised her hand. "I'm with ya, Spot!". She looked around at the others in the room, waiting for their reaction.
