Lifting paper after paper into the air, Slinks shouted out the headlines above the rumble of the crowd, sending a quick grin at those who snatched a copy out of her fist and replaced it with a few pennies.

Fancy shouted out headline after headline, her head pounded from the continual noise that surrounded her. Her throat was sore from all the screaming, but for some odd reason she felt excited and feverishly happy. Fancy heard a familiar voice in the distance and looked around the bustling people to see Slinks standing only a few yards away. Smiling Fancy made her way over to her friend "What are you doing here?" she demanded, she said a little sharper than she meant to.....

Not missing a beat, she pawned another paper off and answered: "'M sellin' Fance, wassit loo' li'e?" Tone just as neutral in response to the sharpness from Fancy's, she was setting up barriers. Just like she used to.

Fancy raised an eyebrow "Since when do you sell here?" she asked casually, trying to make up for the sharpness of her last retort. "I've never seen you here before..." Slinks wasn't herself and it was a little frightening to Fancy....

As the crowd thinned a bit, she turned to face her friend. "Well, i' IS Broo'lyn, innit?" She managed a grin. If Fance wasn't attacking anymore, she'd back off. "Though' I'd go f'r a change o' pace."

Fancy smiled "Yeah... It can get pretty crazy here sometimes..." she chuckled a bit. "But at least you make good money here!" she said casually, shrugging her shoulders and turning away to leave. "it certainly pays well over here in Brooklyn..." she said more to herself than to Slinks....

"'Sides..Broo'lyn's go' a lo' of comeback fun fer a newsie who ain't been sellin' 'n two weeks." She grinned wolfishly at Fancy. "Bu' tha's jist me li'le secret,"

"Eh, th's 'n tha'." She shrugged, getting rid of the second to last paper in her hand. Pocketing the penny and sending a Brooklyn Look to the grubby teen boy trying to lift it, she lifted an eyebrow at Fance as if to say 'Example A...'.

Fancy smiled, containing her laughter with great difficulty "Interesting..." she said slowly...

"Tha', an'...Heheh...I guess I 'aven't been 'round t' any o' the places 'n Brooklyn fer a while." She shrugged. And then, sold the last of her newspapers with grin.
Noticing the Blonde teen still hanging around, she flipped him the penny, receiving an eyeroll and the penny back in her hand within ten seconds. "No fun that way, goil." He said drily. Then his eye brows twitched up, and a wolfish grin gave his next words a snap-accent. "I likes me a challenge."
Slinks glared. "Dream on, boyo." The hand gesture sent his way got a guffaw as the teen disappeared into the small crowd. She turned back to her friend, a sarcastic look on her face. "An' I though' I would miss th's 'sellin' thing,"

Fancy laughed "You've got every boy in Brooklyn hitting on you!" she grinned at her friend teasingly "Better tell Ace to watch his back!" she gave her friend a friendly nudge....

She let out a strangled yelp and whacked Fancy with her hat repeatedly, cheeks going red.
