Blink wasn't sure why he was in the Bronx, by all accounts, he had no reason to be here, except for the fact that Hattan was becoming quite restricting, what with all his friends acting in his 'best interest' and trying to keep him all locked up and confined.
He was hurt. Not dead.
Laying with his back against the wooden plank of the picnic table, he blew a stream of smoke into the air, flicking the end of his cigarette lazily. He had needed to get away, to think...but now that he did...he was missing his friends. Being around them so much made it that much quieter when he wasn't. Ironically.

"Ya look like somethin's gotcha down," Mush said as he was walking through the area. "You got somethin' on ya mind, or just sittin' here smokin' starin' at the sky waiting for somethin' ta fall out of it ta make life good again? Because the former is more likely den da latah." Mush was in a fairly good mood, but he didn't want to be hangin' around Manhattan either.

"You know me." He answered, turning his head to look at him, "I cant stand bein cooped up for long. So, to answer your question...im bein a rebel, while i sit here, smokin and starin at da sky, waitin for something to fall out of it and smash me upside da head."

"Yeah, da rebel in Bronx..." Mush said rolling his eyes. Some rebellion. "Mind if I join ya?" he said sitting on the bench of the picnic table and resting a hand on the table. He looked up at the sky. "Anything hitcha up side the head yet?" he said heaving a sigh.

"Naw, but i aint givin up hope." He sat up a little, pulling the cigarette from his mouth with one hand. "What's up, Mush?" He asked, eyebrow raised a little. "I know why im heah, but why are you?"

"Got no bettah way ta waste a day... honest," he said seriously. He couldn't come up with anywhere else to be, so since the Bronx had been off limits (until recently), he figured he'd see if anything had changed... which it hadn't. "Just decided to walk around for a while... why're you here again?" since he hadn't said.

"I didn't say." Blink said, suddenly on the defensive. He leaned back down and pulled his hat to cover his eyes. "Anyways..."

Mush rolled his eyes. Aparently not on his list of things to talk about. Alright, new topic. "You as bored as I am?" he asked Blink with a sigh. Because he was pretty bored, and seriuosly didn't know what to do.

"Pretty much." He gestured toward the sky, "Im still waitin for something to hit me...so yah." He sighed and sat up fully, looking away from the other. "Look, man, im sorry. Im givin ya an attitude, and you dont deserve it."

Mush looked back at his friends. "I ain't gonna argue wit' ya. What's got youse upset anyways? An' dun try changin' the subject again. Ya bad at doin' it indescretely." He sat up on the table beside/behind his friend and looked at him, waiting for an answer.

"I got into anuddah fight wit Morris." He mumbled, "...But he's actin strange...and i dont know why. Stupid git." He worked out his shoulder, "And im upset....cause i haven't seen two-bit in a while." There was a slight blush across his face as he put his head on the table, "Dang it, ive gone soft."

Mush smiled, he could relate to that. "Yeah... well... about Morris, he is a stupid git... we knew dat, and it ain't changed. About Two-Bit... I dunno what ta tell ya. She's been... well I dunno where she's been ta be honest with ya. I saw 'er once, but she didn't look too happy." He shrugged. "But, back to Morris," keep his mind off of thinkin' he'd gone soft, "Whadaya mean actin' strange? I mean, I know ya said somethin' about him killin' youse too, but... he's been actin' stranger den usual?"

***NEW DAY***
Spade walked towards the picnic tables, dressed like a boy, hat pulled low over her eyes to block out the sun. It was hot outside and it was uncomfortable, but the girl didn't care. It was worse inside, instead of being 100 outside it got up to 121 inside. Days like this the best place was water, but she was sure there were tons of newsies there and she still hadn't got up the courage to meet more newsies. Taking a set she lend forward on her knees and resting her head in her hands she closed her eyes trying to stay cool.

Fox walked down towards the picnic tables. She had just sold the last of her papes and was not taking a break. She stood by an empty table and looked down at the beach. A warm smile caressed her soft face. She had long dark hair, that looked like a smooth waterfall that fell along her shoulders. She wore a tan hot that looked at though it was worn often.
