Smokes nodded. "Well, you can consider me one of your new found siblings." She smiled.

Banshee smiled, "That means a lot to me." She said honestly. "You have no idea." She said, her eyes showing a much needed relief. She gave a good look at the watch before looking back up to her. "So, how many people do come around here?" She asked, wanting to know how many people she should expect to come in contact with... not that she'd actually meet all of them.

Smokes shrugged. "I'm guessin' a lot though. A friend of mine told me that a lot of newsies came here lookin for a job, but my guess is a lot of 'em chickened out 'cause I don't see too many of 'em."

Sneaks came striding into the room, needing to do some checks with the head of gambling when he saw the two girls. "Ahh...fresh female recruits...Nicholas always did seem to have luck with the ladies." He nodded and put out his hand. "Sneaks. I help run the gambling operations here."

"Well, here comes one." She said, when she heard his voice. She turned to see a guy put his hand out. Banshee, as best as she could without getting up, reached for his hand and shook it. "Banshee." She said. After shaking, she pulled her hand back, and placed the watch that rested on the table, into her pocket. "Well, it's good to know there's a strong athority when it comes to gambling." She said strong seriously, but it was quite sarcastic, and with her back turned to him, she could help but give Smokes a sarcastic look as she said it. "You never know what people might do during a good card game or something." The way she said 'people' was almost forced. By people, she actually meant herself.

Sneaks smirked and started shuffling his cards in his normal intraquet manner. "Well, Banshee...seems like you have an attitude problem."
He continued to shuffle, the patterns becoming more complex. "We make more money here than we do with whatever crap you steal..." He raised an eyebrow casually. "But I'm sure Nicholas would love to know that you were disrespecting one of his favourites..."

Banshee's blood rushed through her body, she had almost forgotten about Nicholas. Talking with Smokes had made her forget about what had just happened between her and Nicholas. She held her sarcastic smile, but her eyes couldn't hide the fear. "Take no offence, I'm not going to give you any special treatment, nor am I going to bash you harder just because you're one of his favorites." She said, honestly. "And you can't bash what I steal until you've seen it." She said, thinking back to the beautiful watch that was hidden in her pocket. She watched his skills with cards and couldn't help but give a respectful smile, "Very nice shuffling, you have me quite impressed." She said, trying to get the thought off of Nicholas, although it was true; she was impressed.

"I'm Smokes." Smokes put her hand out, trying to stop the tension from getting any worse. They didn't need anyy fights this early in.

Sneaks just raised an eyebrow at Banshee, nonplussed. He shook Smokes hand. "Welcome to the 'family'." He kept shuffling with one hand, smirking.

Banshee showed her relief when Smokes introduced herself. She kept watching the cards; all she could do was one type of shuffle, and she could deal pretty fast, but no fancy things. She looked back up to Sneaks, but didn't say anything. She didn't want to get herself introuble again.

Smokes noticed Banshee's look of relief. She swtiched her eyes to look at Sneaks and then back at Banshee. She sighed and scratched the back of her head nonchalantly. "So...Sneaks, how long you been here?"

Sneaks shrugged. "For about as long as the Raconteurs have been out..." He smirked and put his cards away. "Are you career thieves or ex newsies?"

Banshee listened to him, wondering how long the Racounteurs have been out. "Career theif." She said, almost proud to have never been a Newsie. She took one more puff of the cigar, and kept an eye on him. She wasn't sure how to feel about him; he kept her nervous, but he didn't seem like a threat.

Smokes nodded, motioning her head toward Banshee, as in telling him she too was never a newsie.

Banshee looked to Sneaks, "How 'bout you?" She asked. "Were you a Newsie before you came here?" She held the cigar in her hand so she could talk without mumbling, but when she was done, back the cigar went, into her mouth. She wasn't as relaxed as before, but she couldn't figure out why. She sat up in the seat, and wouldn't keep an eye off of him; almost a precaution.
