"Well thank you," he said with a shrug, not sure if that was good or bad. He let go of one of her hands and then spun her back into his arms and held her for a second before spinning her out the other way. He then took her hand again, and went back into the 3/4 time of the waltz.

She grinned up at him. "Your good..." she giggled, dancing with him again. "hey... You sure your okay?" she asked, looking in his eyes. She couldn't tell at the moment whether he was himself or not. Or maybe it was her that was different. She smiled slowly, yah that was it.

"Yeah, I'm fine," he said nonchalantly. And he was fine too. He still had iron gates behind his eyes, but those had been there for a long time, and it wouldn't take just anything or anyone to open them. And what was behind those gates was only bad things, and if they came out Avalanche would lose his whole outlook on life, and wouldn't be himself anymore. "And are you okay?" he asked her back as though he were asking her how the weather was.

Dusty looked at him for a moment, feeling and aura of pain around him for a moment. She held him a little tighter. "I'm fine..." she whispered, her eyes telling him to trust her...please. She gently stroked his cheek with her finger before and running the hand through his hair. "Makes me sad..." she stated in a soft whisper.

His smiled fell a little. "What does? Why?" he asked her with a small smile on his lips. Just enough to give him his character, but you could tell that he was concerned about her happiness.

She sighed. "Just that your like this..." she knew he was building walls, and they were strong. She gently placed a hand on his cheek. "I know..." she whispered, and she did... maybe not everything, but she certainly knew about the whole living in the past, building up walls thing.

Avalanche put a hand on hers, and slowly took her hand from his cheeck. The gates weren't coming open that easily. "I've been like this for a long time Dusty... that's the only way I know how to be. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure that I can change it that easily," and to be honest, he wasn't sure that he wanted to change it. He liked himself the way he was.

She placed the hand on his chest. "I don't want you to change..." she told him firmly. "I love you just the way you are..." she smiled reassuringly. "I would never ask someone to change who they were for me...It cannot be done..." she stated, she knew this first hand.

He nodded slowly. "Then there isn't much of a chance you're ever gonna be happy with me," after all, if him being like this made her unhappy, and it was the way he was, and he wasn't chainging, how would she ever be happy?

She shook her head. "Thats not what i meant..." she said slowly. "I just meant seeing you so happy after all you've been through... it makes me sad in the sense that i can never be that happy and i have lost nothing and no one..." she smiled a sad little smile up at him. "Shows how much of a brat i am i guess..." she said, letting her hand slide off his chest and into his hand.

Avalanche sighed a bit. "Well... it's not so hard," he said shrugging it off. "You just have to remember what's important in life. When you can do that... you've solved the puzzle." Or it seemed you did. There were still small parts that you didn't put together, but you didn't want them together, and you kept them locked up. But he didn't say that last part.

"I know whats important... well i did..." she smiled sadly, then a thought struck her. "Avalanche... i have to go... I'm so sorry but i do..." she reached up quickly to kiss him. "I'll see you soon...love you..." she released his hands as she took off down the street, full tilt towards Queens...

Avalanche let her go, and watched her as she ran into the distance. He'd see her again, he knew he would, and hopefully in less than a month. He smiled to himself, but if he didn't get out of this rain soon he'd catch cold. He ran off towards his apartment to get himself dry. This was gonna be a bad storm. If it let up maybe he'd go see Prince later.

Alley Cat walked though the park. It was the dead of night. Midnight to be exact. She'd been asleep at the lodgin' house but she had a nightmare so she decided to go out and have a walk. She new it probably wasn't the most intellegent thing to do in the middle of the night but she could stay in the lodgin' house. She walked done the path but stopped short when she saw something move in the distance. It looked like the figure of a man. She tensed her eyes widening. Why do i do the stupid thing of coming out here why. She kept walking cautiously and not looking in the direction of the figure. A black cat followed closely behind her.

She didn't get far before whoever it was grabbed her from behind and drug her away. Her cat stayed in that exact spot meowing. Her calling card. It watched as she was drug off. It turned and headed back down the paths looking for someone anyone that he could get too her.
