He frowned over at Fancy and her cigarette, but left that for Red to deal with, before grinning over at SlingShot. "Wells, to make it short and as to not lose your interest- i originally came from Boston, but for certain reasons...i came here. I was looking for a lodging house to stay at- and i ran across a couple of bulls rounding in on a young man. I jumped in and helped- and came to find out latah he was da leadah of the Bronx. He thanked me for helpin him and took me in as one of his newsies."
Ace shrugged, "I was there for a bit befoah he had to leave, and when he did- everyone wanted me as leadah." He flicked a fly away and smirked, "See? Not entirely too interesting."

SlingShot nodded. "Well, how come everyone wanted you? Why not someone else who had been around longer?"

SlingShot smiled back, becoming more comfortable with the conversation. "Yeah? Why?"

He raised an eyebrow, "Why bout what? The trouble or the 'im not fit to do this' thing?"

<<NEW DAY>>
Drifter sat on the grass watching the ducks swim by in the pond. She had just got back from her little trip to Brooklyn, and was told Ace was out this way, and mad at her... again. It wasn't her fault that it got too dark for ehr to come home last night, and she couldn't tell Ace because he was busy, or Fancy because Fancy was the reason she left and no one else was around. She adjust her hat and looked around bored. She hadn't even thought to bring her fiddle with her to give her something to do. Then she could have at least made some money.

"You, woman, are going to be the death of me one of these days." Ace plopped down next to her, his shirt half-way unbuttoned on his chest, suspender straps at his side. He looked really tired, and supressed a yawn. "Where were you this time?"

"Brooklyn, but Ise made a new friend," she said grinning, "Another Irishman, it was nice to talk to someone like that again, I thought I'd forgotten how. You might know him, Raz?"

The leader's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. "Raz...as in Razor? As in the younger Brooklyn Body Guard?" He sputtered.

"Mhm," Drifter said as she picked a few flower and began weaving them together, like she had done not long ago under the oak, "He's really quite nice. We had tea and by then it was too late to get me home, so Ise stayed theah and he walked me ta 'Hatten this mohning, since Ise can get through 'Hatten fine on me own."

Ace couldn't believe what he was hearing. First off, Razor and Blade were back- that in and of itself was shocking. But second off, the Brooklyn Body Guards had never...really been civil to anyone outside their own burrough. Well, they had been civil, but not entirely friendly.

Drifter finished her crown and set it upon her own head. Satisfied she looked back over at an unusally quiet Ace, "He's a Dubliner like me folks were it turns out, so he can actually say my name. Come to think of it, he only called me Roisin. Hmm, it's an Irish thing Ise guess."

He shrugged. "I can say it just fine, and im not Irish." He played with the grass, twisting it between his fingers. Something was bothering him.

"True, but yoah different, most othahs give up and call me somthing awful like Rosie. It was fun though, I'll have to go back sometime."
Smoothing out her skirt she had to ask, "Ace, what's going on? Yoah awfully quiet ovah theah."
