That seemed to be the end of everything that anyone was going to say. The minister stepped up and said a few parting words, also a prayer, and that was basically it. Small for a funeral, but it was a newsie, they hadn't been expecting all of New York to show. Now that the service was over Prince headed up towards the front of the church. "Thanks uhh... sir," she didn't really know what to call a minister. "Heah, dis is for... everythin'. Consider it a donation," she said handing him a couple of dollars. She figured she owed the church something for putting their building in danger with all these different newsies in one place at once. B'sides... she felt like she should.

Spot silently swore to himself. He shudda paid the guy, not Prince. He made his way hesitantly over to Prince to thank her.

SlingShot slowly followed Spot, not sure what to do now.

Flick raised his eyebrow. "Ya bulls have neveh respected newsies and I doubt ya eveh will 'cause ya don't know what its like ta be where we are. And foh all I know you are one of Snyders henchmen." Flick spat on the ground, away from the bull but he still didn't like him. "And dis ain't my war. I neveh wanted a war." He stated firmly.

Slinks' hands were making mince meat out of her hat, twisting the worn garmet so hard the fabric creaked. This wasn't right. The tension in the air could've been cut with a dull stick - fine for any other occasion, but for a funeral, that was just sick.
Biting her tongue to calm the urge to snap at half of the people there, she made her way up to the front. Standing before the coffin that held Spike, she traced a cross on the wood with her fingers, murmered a short prayer, and touched a finger to her forehead in farewell. Turning, Slinks headed back down the aisle and outside, catching the end of what the cop said and all of what Flick replied with.
"Snyder's 'enchman, war, or no, neither o' ye should be fighting today. Here least of all." She said, putting her hat back over her red-auburn mop of hair with a slightly peeved set to her jaw. Jesus, this was a funeral!

Flick didn't turn to see who had joined the conversation. He just snapped out, "Ya and dis ain't no place foh da cops ta be eitheh!" He didn't want anyone else in the conversation, cause he knew they'd bring him back to his right mind. He really wanted to hit the cop, he had a lot of stress and felt like hitting someone.

"Wha's more important to ye - a cop or a newsie?!" She snapped back at him. "It migh' not be a place fer a cop, but hey, if ye choose 'im over a newsie, i's no' a place fer you either boyo." The whole war itself had her on edge, and WOW, following her own 'rules' had never been so hard. The boy wanted a fight, well, bugger it.

Flick turned around about ready to hit the kid and then stopped in mid swing. He looked at his hand in shock. What the hell are ya doin'? Dis is just great! Flick looked at the girl and then at his hand again and turned around. "I'm sorry I wasn't...neveh mind I don't know if I woulda hit ya, but I am sorry." Flick just walked away, he knew the kid was more important then some fight. He'd visit his grave or something later when no one was around.

Fancy stared in awe as Flick nearly punched Slinks. Her mouth was open in surprise. Standing up, Fancy quickly followed Flick out of the church. Grabbing his arm, she turned him around. "What was that Flick?" she asked him in concern. "I've never seen you act this way before!" she was deeply concerned for her friend and wanted to find out what was wrong.

Race got up from his seat to leave, his mind clearly elsewhere, and he stood in the aisle, unconsciously waiting for Sweets to follow.

She glanced around, then slowly stood, taking one last look at the small coffin. Moving from her seat she followed Racetrack out.

Golly didn't respond to Flick, what was the use? The kid was enraged and anything he said, especially correcting him or criticizing him, would make Flick snap. Didn't matter though, Slinks ended up doing that. When Flick went to throw a punch he just stared in disbelief because it was aimed at the girl and not himself. He took a step towards Slinks, "You alright?" He questioned with concern, not really thinking about his position and her reaction to it.
He glanced back at Flick and frowned, at least he showed a little self control and stopped himself. "Be careful son.." He said somewhat muffled void of any harshness or sarcasim. They all needed as much help as they could get.

Aria nodded slightly. "Adn I know its your job to be the law, but we need to find some way to get the kids to trust you cops. No that you and Golly are just trying to help all of them, not send them off to Snyder. But what can I say, they're kids. They probably wont listen."
She sighed and leaned on Carter a bit.

"I just don't know how those kids are gonna trust us. Me and Golly, were just tryin' to do whats right."m he noticed that more people were leaving,"The crowds are clearin' out are you ready to leave?" he put an arm around Aria. Maybe it was a bad idea for him to come here. These kids hated cops and being here while they payed their respects only made an even tense situation more so.

Be careful son
Flick turned around, "Ya I know. And Slinks I am sorry, I wouldn't have hit ya. I'm not usually like dis," Flick looked at the ground and shook his head. He didn't want to turn into his dad.
What was that Flick? I've never seen you act this way before!
Flick just continued to walk as he said, "I don't know Fancy. I just don't know." He wasn't sure what was wrong, but he had ideas. It was like he was just going to tell everyone though, they didn't need to know.
