Some of the younger kids around the room looked up and waved to TipOff. "Hi!" An older boy stepped forward. "She went to Manhattan. Said she was gonna have a word with Jack. You'll be able to find her there probably," he said. "Probably the Manhattan Lodin' house. Good luck, kid," the older boy said.

Tip Off frowned but without another word was gone, speeding off to Manhattan.

((New Day))
Sprints quietly stepped into the lodging house. He had finally gotten back from Italy, and had come back to New York, hopefully, to become a newsie.
Running a hand through his hair, he looked around the main room with interest.

Prince sat in a chair, a book in her hand, and a younger kid sitting on the arm of the chair she was on. "Ya havin' fun readin' ovah my shoulda Lion?" she asked the young boy.
"Yeah!" he said with a smile.
"Ya awful good at it..." she said rolling her eyes. She hadn't seen Sprints come in yet, so she didn't know that he was there.

"Isn't it annoying to have someone read over your shoulder though?" Sprints questioned as if he had known Prince for a long time. Of course, he had no way of knowing this was the leader of Queens.

Prince jumped, and so did the kid sitting on the arm of the chair. She looked back at him, and looked him up and down once. "Who're you?" she asked standing. She kept her tone high, since... she had been speaking normal just seconds before, and figured it safer, but still looked the part of a boy.

"Ya lookin' at 'em," she said with her hands on her hips. "Can I help youse?" she asked. With the war going on she was being extra careful.

He raised his eyebrows in surprise, but nodded. "Yeah, I came to see if I could be a Newsie." Plain, simple, got right to the point... please say I can...

Prince looked him up and down. It wasn't gonna be that simple. "You been anywhere else before here? Know anyone from othah places? Why ya wanna be a newsie anyway?" she asked finally.

"Um, I've been to Italy, and my sister Cheater is in the Bronx... I guess I want to be a newsie because working somewhere else doesn't appeal to me." He explained.

"Ya sistah's in the Bronx? Apparently you ain't hoid about the war goin' on... the newsie war. A Bookie was killed in 'hattan, and Spot's up in arms about it, and Ace sided with him. But, if ya wanna be a Queens newsie, and as long as ya don't really belong no where else, then I dun suppose I could say no, now could I?" she asked folding her arms. She spit in her hand, and offered it to him. "Name's Prince."

"For future reference... ya... might wanna avoid Brooklyn and the Bronx, unless ya wanna get killed," she said folding her arms. "If they find out ya from Queens they might toss ya in the rivah, or kill ya and blame it on us dis time," she said sourly. Apprently this war was still ticking her off... but that's understandable.
