Prince raised her eyebrows, and hadn't expected a reply so quickly! She quickly dashed towards Smalls, just to catch up mostly, and because she hadn't been expecting such a quick response. In all honesty Prince was a little shocked that Smalls recognized her in the first place... a lotta people had been caught off guard by the short hair... then again, Smalls had a good eye, not as surprising as she originally thought.
"Yeah, I was at your lodgin' house a few minutes ago. Saw a girl there... uh... Gem," she said nodding as she remembered the name. "Dunno if you know her or what, but she said you were down here... I've been a bit outta the loop..." she shrugged slightly. "I've got 2 kids missin' from my borough, and I know I ain't alone. I can't find Jack anywhere, and I thought the next best thing would be ta come to Brooklyn. Gem knew where you were... so here I am... I was hoping you all down here might be able to help me out?" she asked. she was at a loss, as was kinda obvious, but... what was to be expected?

"Yeah, I was at your lodgin' house a few minutes ago. Saw a girl there... uh... Gem, Dunno if you know her or what, but she said you were down here... I've been a bit outta the loop..."
Smalls made a face at the name, implying she had some kind of recolloection of the girl but that it was irrelevent. Kids kept coming in going in Brooklyn, she was starting to lose track.
I've got 2 kids missin' from my borough, and I know I ain't alone. I can't find Jack anywhere, and I thought the next best thing would be ta come to Brooklyn. Gem knew where you were... so here I am... I was hoping you all down here might be able to help me out?"
She raised an eyebrow in the Queens leader's direction. "I know when you say help you don't mean nuthin' beyond a little fact swappin'.." There wasn't scolding in her tone, but meaning. Asking Brooklyn for help, as in getting involved in other peoples' problems, wasn't something they were often inclinded to do, and such supplications for aid were made directly to Spot.
She slowed her pace, glancing over her shoulder before speaking. "Haven't seen Muse in a while, an' a Bronx kid showed up sayin' his little brother was nabbed from the docks." Her eyes hardened at the thought-- the idea of someone having the gall to take their kids, right out of Brooklyn, made her blood boil.

"I know when you say help you don't mean nuthin' beyond a little fact swappin'.."
Prince nodded her head quickly to indicate that, yes that had been what she meant, and she was glad that Smalls knew that. She wasn't expecting more than that to be honest. She just wanted to know what was goin' on!
She nodded. Happy knowing it wasn't just her and Jack... but not so glad to hear that it was more than just her and Jack. "Okay," she said quietly. "Good to know, that all you know of?" she glanced over at her friend. She was glad someone was informed around here, if even just slightly more than she.

Smalls shrugged, sticking her hands in her pockets as they wove down the crowded sidewalk. "Fighter's been talkin' about some brat she can't find," she paused, trying to remember anything else she'd heard. "Oh, that bakery tart from The Bronx? Heard she's been missin'," She smirked thoughtfully, with no real hint of amusement. "One of our boys was sweet on 'er, he aint doin' so good.." Rubbing the back of her neck she sighed, stepping out of the flow of pedestrians beside a stoop and pulling out a cigarette. "So what's your count?" With what she offered Prince, she assumed she would have some kind of total thus far, but she wasn't too excited to hear it.

Prince raised an eye brow, more than she had expected from the other boroughs.
"Well... ovah in Queens we got 2 missin, a girl not too young, and a real young boy about 7," she never could remember Jem's age, according to her he'd always be about 7. "Though up in 'Hattan last time I talked to Jack I think he said... 3 kids?" she couldn't remember anymore. "I think... maybe 2 boys and a goil..." she shrugged. "But that's 5, at least, from us two. And I ain't spoke with him recently so the number mighta gone up." She sighed slightly and shook her head. "This is crazy and stupid if ya ask me..." she was obviously not all too happy about it.

She listened intently as she puffed at her cigarette, eyeing the various passers by acusingly as they went. Someone was lurking around the city and snatching kids, their kids, and Smalls couldn't wait to make them pay.
"Oughta call another meeting," she suggested, her voice brought down low to avoid prying ears. Afterall, the last time a meeting was called it was a setup to snatch newsies. "Probably should inform your toughest, so they can keep an eye out while your gone, maybe catch the son of a bitch and end this." She took a long drag, continuing to scan the crowd and causing those who met her gaze to drop their eyes to the concrete, giving the pair a wide berth as they passed.

Prince took a cigarette out of her mouth. She founded she was more likely to smoke when around others who did so. Did she care? Not really. Plus she swore it made her voice sound deeper, more like a boy... why didn't she smoke more often?
"Wull the last one went so well 'm sure they'd just be achin' for a repeat," she noted sarcastically. She sighed slightly. She knew they had to get some leadership together to discuss this. And the best leadership was the leaders who were already in command, of course. But Smalls had a point. Maybe while the meeting was going on, everyone go in groups that day, no one go out walkin' alone, and kids stay with at least 2 more people... one preferably older, if it can be managed. Her mind was whizzing with the lists she would have to reel off, and the explanation she would have to provide for those who were Jem's age, and more likely to get taken... without scaring them.
But she nodded. "I think we hafta..." she said finally, quietly, and though she was never all too thrilled about all of them meeting. They seemed better handleing each other one on one, they all got a long fine. But the second they reached that table... something flicked on in all of them, they were all leaders, and all focusing on their own kids, even friends was a stretch in that room, it seemed.
Though, as much respect as Prince had for Lucky, she had to make a suggestion. "Maybe..." she thought for a moment, "Spot bein' gone and all... have Lucky kinda... stay back? Watch the kids... and you come?" She said the next part rather quickly. "Now, now, nothin' against Lucky, mind ya, but her short temper and all... I'm kinda afraid that she and Jack'll just go at it the whole time, we'll never make progress, nothin' gets resolved...ah..." she sighed again. "...Ya know?" She really hoped Smalls could understand what she was trying to say! Prince liked Lucky, and respected her, but thought a Brooklyn person with a cool temper might be a nice change of pace... who knows what they might accomplish. "I'll talk to the other boys, if ya like," she added.

Smalls shrugged, a small smirk tugging at her lips at the thought of her Brooklyn companion's temper. She took another drag before replying. "Someone will be there Prince, I can promise ya that much. Tomorrow night."
"I'll talk to the other boys, if ya like,"
She shook her head, snubbing out her smoke on the brick stoop behind them. "On my way to the boxing ring in 'hattan now, I'll make sure Kelly hears about it." When it was just a few Manhattan kids missing Smalls hadn't concerned herself much, but things had gotten much worse, and she would be damned if she let some bastard go around the city picking off newsies one by one. It wasn't about boroughs anymore, it was about New York.
Before leaving she spit in her hand and held it out to the Queens leader. She'd have her back in this, till the end.

Prince nodded. On her way home she decided she would swing by Dodger's place and pay him a visit as well. See if he's busy tomorrow night.
Prince wasn't sure Smalls really understood how much she appreciated her in all this. It seemed at times the other leaders of the boroughs forgot to count her in because... well either because she was Queens, or because she was a Girl... but she didn't concern herself much with reasoning, she only knew that she appeared out of the loop at times. To have someone who was really in it with her, made a difference to her, and Prince was going to do all in her power to help Smalls, Lucky, and all the members of Brooklyn out until they solved whatever was going on around here.
Without any hesitation, and maybe with a bit more vigor than usual, Prince spit in her hand as well and shook the hand of the girl across from her. "Thanks Smalls, ya won't regret it. I'll head up and talk to Dodger right now, 'fore I forget," she said nodding. She looked at smalls very closely. "Really... thanks," she said making sure the message was received before she smiled a little, turned and made her way towards the Bronx. Better to start now than to get behind.

((New Day))
Lucky drew in her smoke and leaned against the building while she waited for Danny, she knew he would be heading this way and she had to tell him the plan. For some reason she was everyone's liason to Danno right now. He was a bit off and he was hurting but she was trying to help, at least give him a little power to do something about the situation.
Honestly-- she didn't get what he saw in that bakery girl. She was to nice, got her ass kicked by another girl (probably smarty but Lucks hadn't talked to her about it yet) and she-- it just confused the Brooklyn girl. "Danno's got straange tastes.." she muttered as she folded her arms behind her head as she waited.

Danny easily spotted Lucky as he turned onto Lorimer, and since it was one of her usual haunts he assumed she was looking for him. He approached her, tipping his hat up slightly and folding his arms across his chest. "You lookin' for me?" He certainly hoped she didn't have more bad news about the kidnappings. He didn't want to hear it.

Lucky nodded her head, "Smalls and I want you to hit the leaders meetin' happenin tonight at seven. I've got patrols to keep after and Smalls really hates that kind of shit... better you go so you can try to do some good and feel useful. Don't let Kelly walk on ya, open your mouth and stand firm. You'd be representin' all of us.."

He smirked slightly at her direction but shrugged, sticking his hands in his pockets. "Sure, why not." She seemed far more concerned about this little meeting than he thought was necessary, but he'd ever experienced it himself. Gathering around with the only three other people in the city who might be able to give him some information? He was in. "You be careful, yeah?" He reached out and gave her cheek a pat before turning and making his way back the way he came, heading toward the inner New York meeting spot.

[New Day]
Jason wandered down Lorimer, he needed to get some things to get him through the week. Things like cigarettes, matches, more cigarettes, and maybe an apple or something. He had to eat every now and then.
He pushed his hair out of his eyes, the red bandanna he wore wasn't doing its job in keeping his hair out of his eyes. He sighed, and adjusted the red fabric. When he felt that the bandanna was finally in place, he continued his wanderings.
Jason reached into his pocket to count his money, he had about sixty seven cents. Hopefully that would be enough for everything he needed. He needed another job, something that paid well. Being a newsie was fine for spare money, and that was about it. Jason didn't want to stop being a newsie, in all honesty, he loved it.
He reached into his other pocket, and got a cigarette out. He swiped it from some kid. He was doing that kid a favor, the kid didn't need it, Jason did. He lit it, and inhaled. Oh, how he loved smokes.

[New Day]
Sorcha had left angry that morning, abandoning Killian before he could even know the petite brunette had gone. She knew honestly if her brother was alive he would take someone with her as a serious slight. Frowning she ran her hand through her hair as she looked around the street. Things had changed but yet they hadn't, new stores occupied spaces old stores once had. People were still the same, it was as if Brooklyn had waited for them to come home.
Yet, she was positive that her brother wouldn't see this as a reunion of sorts. Oh he'd be furious. Sighing she looked around the corners, studied the crowd for a tall, broad frame that she recognized. She wanted to see him first but she wasn't sure if that would be the case or not.
After all, she was still the only person that ever called him by his real name.
