Zero was leaning up against a nearby post, nursing his cigarette with no intent of moving for at least another hour. He was vaguely aware of some younger kids swimming, but they weren't Brooklyn's and he didn't know them, so didn't head over. It wasn't until an older boy joined that his brows raised. Seeing the younger boy stand up to someone so much larger impressed Zero, and should the moment present itself, he might even lend an able hand to his cause. For now, however, he remained where he was like a fly on a crate.

Deciding that she'd been on the streets of brooklyn enough for one day Mooch headed towards the docks where perhaps she could take a swim before she began wandering again. It's hot as hell out heah, i guess its even hot enough for da water to sound like a good idea to a cat she thought smiling as spooky willingly followed her even though he'd put up a fight other times that they'd headed in this direction. Her eyes darted around as they walked, though she came here often she still knew shit could happen at any time so she tried to be cautious.
She looked around as they approached and saw a few kids in the water, nothing unusual there. Then she saw another older boy approach and she saw the younger one climb out of the water. hmm, looks like sometin might be happening here... she thought and hoped that the younger one could hold his own. He didnt look it... but you never know, looks can be decieveing she reminded herself.
She stuffed both of her hands in her pocket and as she got closer she decided that maybe she would wait to see what happened first. A little ways in front of her she saw another boy leaning against a post. She was curious as to what was happening so she walked towards him. She knew better than to just suddenly approach someone you didnt know on the streets so she had to try hard to kill the stealthy instincts she had luckily been born with and scuff her shoes lighty against the ground a little. She stopped when she got to the post but didnt look at the other boy, just out at the scene in front of her. Spooky sat down on his hind legs and curled his tail around his feet, placing himself next to her but not too close. Mooch cocked her head to the side and just watched the confrontation quietly. "You know whats goin on over dere?" she asked after a minute.

Scar looked over at the group that had begun to gather within a ten foot radius of where he was working and shook his head, "Damn paperboys....go find a place for your little spat where people aren't trying to get some damn work done." Scar had an unpleasant look on his face and was standing there holding a crate in his arms. "You should have something better to do, eh?"

(Hey you guys, there has been about 6 posts and Dots hasn't answered to any of them. Can you slow it down a little and have an order? How about this:Dewey,Dots,The Pirate, Zero, Mooch and Scar. Thanks! )
"don' joke like dat, ya nearly gave me a heart attack. you'll hafta forgive me if I don't do da same"
Dots laughed at his gesture. "Sorry, I forgive ya, boys do dat all da time." She gestured with her hands to all of the other boys swimming at the docks.
"I'd rather your dame jumped in with nothing,"
As she stopped laughing, Dots turned around with a very deathly glare on her face. When she saw who it was, her glare turned into a frown. 'I can't take dis guy, he's to old,' she thought.
"Oh yeah? Well first of all, I am wearing something, what are ya blind? and second of all, you bettah not talk ta my girl like dat 'cause ,I'll tell ya somethin mistah, I can take you. I've slaughtered pigs who were tougher den you"
Dots looked up at Dewey very shocked at what he said. She couldn't believe he would stick up for her like that, and to a guy who was much bigger and older than he is. But she really liked Dewey, and was glad he was doing this. Even though she didn't show it.

"Hey, don' complain ta me" Dewey protested looking over at the man who had just walked up "We was jus' mindin' our own buisiness an' dis clown jus' walked up an' started puttin' da moves on my girl" he explained, emboldened by the fact that there was now someone else there who would presumably stop the older boy from killing him if a fight broke out.

((OOC: Zero feels the same as Scar. He gets one little break from work and a couple of kids from a different burrough want to start stuff on his docks. Whenever its my 'turn' to post, you can bet he'll show that this is his feeling. He isn't one to talk, though. He doesn't think a bunch of kids are important enough to get as upset as Scar is Carry on. Like Scar, this will be deleted later.))

Dots was very proud of Dewey for doing what he was. She then walked up to him and hugged him, even though he was wet and whispered, "Thank you so much Dewey." After Dots said that she kissed him on the cheek. She then turned to this guy. "Ya, we didn't do nothin', so ya shouldn't be tawkin' ta us."

Scar gave them a sinister grin, "Oi, I'll speak to you however I like kiddies, you aren't supposed ta be down here anyway. So take your petty argument somewhere else. I got work ta do and I don't want to deal with your argument."
He looked at Dewey with a look that said don't screw with me, I will make you leave if you don't now. He certainly wasn't intimidated by some boy almost half his age. "I don't give a damn who started it, I'm don't want it here. I don't think anyone working now wants this." Scar wasn't prone to beating on kids but he wasn't objective to beating on a kid mouthing off to him, he had no scruples.

He raised an eyebrow at the girl, "Aight? And where do ye hail from lass? Obviously somewhere where you think your opinion matters. Because it doesn't matter here. And if ye look around these docks are for workin', not for ye lil ones to think ye can mouth off to anyone ye like. I heard what ye said to the lad, not that that ass should be runnin' his mouth but ye sound like a common harlot."
Scar didn't have the most becoming opinion of women, especially when such things came from their mouths. He felt they should know their place by this point and it was to look pretty and stand beside your man. If a man needed his woman to fight battles for him then he wasn't much of a man at all.

His fear of being killed by the two older and undoubtedly stronger boys momentarily forgotten, Dewey lunged at the older boy and, aided by adrenaline, managed to shove him over, causing the heavy crate he was carrying to land on his chest. While the boy was down, Dewey kicked him in the side with all the force he could muster, he knew that it wasn't the most honorable way to fight but it was how he had learned to fight and, having grown up with sixteen older cousins, it was probably the only way that he had survived his childhood. As some of his common sense began to break through the adrenaline flooding through his body he realized that what he had just done probably hadn't been very wise but, nevertheless, he didn't regret having done it. He couldn't let someone, no matter how big and terrifying, talk about Dots that way and get away with it.

"I can tawk ta anyone I please, and ya can't tell me nothin'!" Dots screamed at him. When Dewey jumped on the boy, Dots gasped. But, fearful that Dewey would get hurt, she sat on a crate and let the tears run down her face. "Don't ya dare tawk ta me like dat again, and ya bettah not hoit Dewey, or I sweah, I will get someone on yoah ass." She replied with a glare.

Scar was momentarily taken by surprise but it didn't last long, he shoved the crate off of him. He didn't even think when he did it and he was so angry that he didn't think about the consequences when he jumped to his feet and grabbed the boy by the collar, getting into his face. "Calm your temper boyo, this is your last chance." Scar really wasn't trying to hit this streetrat. In his opinion that's what the boy was by not taking his warning to heart and by attacking him pretty much unprovoked.
"I'm not one to beat a lad, it isn't in me blood, but I'm not against protecting myself and you attacked me first. The best choice at this point is to turn back lad. Just back down before this goes any further." Scar was being incredibly generous at this point because the kid was testing him. He knew his boss wouldn't fire him for beating a few street rats off his docks after they started a fight. It just wasn't something he was looking forward to but one more word from either of them and he'd be showing them just how willing he was to react for them.

Dots thought this over like it was a deal. "Aight, but what if we, " She pointed to herself and Dewey, "don't leave, but he," She pointed to The Pirate, "leaves. Den what? Can we still swim?"

Scar turned to Dots and lifted an eyebrow, "At this point, lassie, I think you all should leave. There are plenty of other docks to swim on." He made his point by pointing to some not a hundred yards away. "I think it would be best if you all went over there."
