"Lovely name. French. Is that a Southern accent I hear?" Danny smiled, stretching his legs out infront of him. "Sorry, I'm trying. Americans sound a bit alike to me." He smirked, joking playfully, then glanced to the fountain, "So, what did you wish for, love?"

Antoinette offered him a smile when he commented on her name, "Yes, my father brought my mother to America before I was born. I lived in Georgia until recently." Antoinette glanced up as the sun came out from behind a cloud before opening her parasol to block it from burning her perfect skin and marring it. "What part of England are you from?" Antoinette had traveled enough with her father to know that's where he was from, but she couldn't distinguish between the accents.

"London," Danny nodded, picking up his hat, twirling it between his fingers to distract her from him moving ever so slightly closer. "Born n' raised. Decided to come to New York for a fresh start after some... family issues." He shrugged appearing nonchalant about the matter. "You never said what you wished for?"

Antoinette frowned when he asked her what she wished for. "Wishes are for children, I learned a long time ago that wishes don't come true." Antoinette glanced around, her frown deepening when she realized how far away from other people they truly were. Her father had hired an older man to follow her around and make sure no harm came to her, but Antoinette had tired of that quickly and sent the man packing. Antoinette wasn't stupid though and she knew that she shouldn't be alone with a stranger with no one around.

Danny watched her looking around, then clicked his tongue, "Tsk tsk, my dear Antoinette..." He paused for a moment, then gave a smile, "A wish is simply a request to the gods... But if you are silly enough to make one, and sillier still to tell someone, you might just get it. Never under estimate a stranger's generosity..."

Antoinette studied Danny very closely when he said that, something about him just seemed out of place but she couldn't figure out what it was. Brushing a bit of hair off her shoulder, she looked him in the eyes. "I do not need a strangers generosity, my father is generous enough. Besides the only thing I would truly wish for no one can grant me, not even God."

"Not even God?" Danny looked a bit surprised, but also a bit sad. What on Earth could she want? Before he was teasing her for a bit of fun, but now he was down right curious. "Well, I'm not just anyone, love." He gave a light smirk. "This is Danny Blue you're chatting with. Go on. Who's it gonna hurt?"

Antoinette's smile fell from her face when he persisted with the subject. The disdain she felt oozed from her very soul. She didn't like others to pry into her personal thoughts and feelings, especially someone she didn't know and honestly didn't care to know at this point. "Well, Danny Blue, for you to have manners common among men. That would be a wonderful thing, wouldn't it?" With that Antoinette turned and headed back towards where her buggey was. She suddenly wasn't in the mood to be out in public anymore.

--New Day-- Despite things being the way they were, the eternal optimist Alanna walker blew her hair out of her face and sat down on the fountain. All she had to her name was the clothes on her back and her personal items stuffed into a cloth bag she'd managed to get away from the school marm. She sighed and rand her fingers over the bride of her nose, there was so much she needed to do. So much she was expected and yet--- things could only get better. After everything the dainty blond couldn't help but seeing the good in things, and something good was sure to come of this. She would learn something new, she would find out what she was made of on her own, and she would figure out what she was capable of above things like-- well she was a lady. Even so that wasn't something she was about to let go of. How could she when being a gentile woman of the fairer variety had been all she'd ever known? Her mother used to say that women like her were meant for the best. And she believed it, but what was the best really? To marry a bank man like her mama and turn out children? She was only sixteen and yet back home girls her age were getting married. The idea made her shudder inwardly. That wasn't for her-- none of that was for her. But what now? What could she really do? She thought hard, setting her elbows on her knees to pillow her hands in serious thought. She wanted so little out of life right? But-- what could she get now. She was at a crossroads, and it was time to figure things out.

Mush Meyers, Manhattan's favorite hopeless romantic was out that afternoon. Enjoying the beautiful sunshine and blue sky. Mush recently in the past had been burned. Girls find him sweet and understanding, and while that's okay, in being sweet and understanding they expect him to understand when they simply up and leave. He's gone through two or three girlfriends at this point who have done that to him. Now, while he didn't mind it so long as they came back, but so often they moved away, to find a different life, and left without saying good bye.
He had recovered from the last to break his heart. A few of his friends had taken him out and reminded him how beautiful the world still was. So he was once again back enjoying the worlds beauty. While walking through the park he came across the fountain. He smiled a little. He jumped up on the ledge of the fountain and looked down into the water. He chuckled a little and thought about jumping in. The best idea in the world? Probably not... but fun... most definitely!

Lanna didn't even notice the boy dancing on the other side of the fountain, she was contemplating really hard. She was thinking about what she was going to do, letting out a breath and blowing a curly strand of hair out of her eyes she stood up straight and sighed once more. "I can't even begin to contemplate what I'm gonna do now.." her voice was like the sunshine but she was frowning. This wasn't good, she wasn't sure what she was going to do now.
Blond hair and blue eyes weren't unusual, but those curls were. And her slightly awkward smile were too.

Mush froze staring at the water in the fountain. 'that's what I was thinkin'... he thought. He grabbed a hold of the middle of the fountain and swung around it. He found a girl with never ending curly blonde hair sitting on the opposite side. Wow... who was this?
"Well," Mush said as he folded his arms. "Depends on what you were doin' before. If you know what you were doin' before then it'll be easier to figure out what to do now." He jumped off the fountain and sat down beside Alanna. "Can I be of any assistance?" he asked with a charming smile.

Her eyes widened with the boy appeared, had he heard her? She looked like she was thinking very hard about something, but she just stared at him with wide blue eyes before a small smile settled on her face and she tilted her head listening to him.
"Well, I'm pretty sure what I was doing before isn't something I can do now..." she said with a small smile.

He shrugged. Wow, she was pretty. Eyes that match the color of the sky, how could you do much better? Plus corn yellow hair, smooth skin like silk, beautiful head to toe, he wasn't sure it was possible... but she sure did appear beautiful.
Once he got over of her appearance carrying on a conversation would be easier... he barely heard what she said, but luckily enough to know that he shouldn't pressure her about her past, seemed like she wasn't interested in keeping up what she had been doin'. "Okay... well then perhaps you need to find something new to do!" Surely someone as put together as her has a home, but she was talking to him, and judging by the accent she wasn't from around here, maybe she was a run away from who knows where in the south. "First... do you have a place you are calling home somewhere around here?" he asked.

Alanna smiled at the boy, she liked him already. He had a smile that was a mile wide and it relaxed her even as he spoke. He was a local, she knew that and from the looks of him one of the newsboys that the girls at school had called street filth. Now why would they call someone that? She didn't think it was hardly fair to call someone filth. Especially when you don't even know them. Thinking to herself she flashed him a bright smile, and tilted her head as she brushed her hair behind her ear.
"Well... I'm not sure, I was going to school you see. And then something happened and I was told about a place in the Bronx where they took in girls to sleep and such.. but I don't know where that is..." she rambled, not only in her thoughts but in her speech when she wasn't careful. But she was all smiles when she did so.
