Dutchy. She looked at him again and it was obvious he was Dutch. Of course, that blonde hair and his pale white skin and bright blue eyes. She thought his eyes were a beautiful blue, but that wasn't something you just blurted at somebody you had hardly just met. So she just nodded and flashed him another smile when he smiled.
"So Holland? Or the Netherlands? I'm actually from the countrysides of Berlin, Germany." She explained, happy to have a European coincidence with Dutchy.
"Have a seat."
"Oh, thank you!" She obliged and took a seat on the crates, smoothing out her apron. She smiled, and let out a little laugh, thinking of the crates as a throne of some sort.

Dutchy shrugged and pulled the bag of lemon drops from his pocket, "I'm not really sure. The Netherlands I think. I was left at the Lodging House when I was pretty young..."
He held out the bag to her, "Want one?"

"Want one?
"First you make me a throne of crates to sit on, and now you are offering me your candy? You are much too generous to me...But...its hard to turn down lemon drops."
She laughed and grinned at him and took one, popping it into her mouth and going back to her sewing.

Dutchy grinned and gave a dramatic bow, holding the bag up so as to not spill them. Then chuckled and sat on his stack of crates again, "Well, you're mending the clothes off my back. Pretty smart idea, you know."

"Well, you're mending the clothes off my back. Pretty smart idea, you know."
Georgie grinned cheerfully and nodded, before her brow furrowed in concentration as she worked the needle through the cloth carefully. "Yes, well, they certainly need mending. Come winter, you won't want holes in your clothes, it will let the cold come in."
"Besides, I really don't mind. I like sewing. I mend my older brother's and my Papa's clothes all the time. Also my mother is a seamstress, so I help her out with the sewing sometimes," Georgie explained.

"You like your family?" He asked, casually, tapping his heels lightly on the crates. Casually, but rather interested. And rather glad she didn't work in a factory. He heard some horror stories about fingers getting caught in machinery, fires, explosions blinding people. But he knew if he didn't figure out something for himself in the near future, he might end up working in one...

((New Day for Piper))
Drifter sat on a crate a unlit cigarette dangling from his lips as he checked all of his pockets for a match. He had to have one, he remembered putting it away earlier. Slipping his hand into his pant pocket he remembered that there was a hole in that pocket and the match must have fallen out while he was selling. Giving a groan he swiped his bowler hat from his head and ran his hand through his hair in frustration.
"Damn perfect." He cursed with a sigh, not only had selling been horrible, now his one way to relax was not going to happen.

Piper was walking along the crates near the selling spots, a regular hat on to hide her face and hair. But she was wearing a boy's jacket over her white shirt, a skirt that came to her knees, girl shoes that clicked as she walked with knee high tights. She had her lighter in her hand as she stopped at a good spot and sighed in relief.
"Thank blood god." She said in a sigh as she threw off her hat to let out her red hair, letting it flow in the wind. She smiled, running her fingers through her hair and getting out a cigarette from inside her hat. She got one and placed it in between her lips, lighting her lighter and inhaling.

Sighing he took the cigarette from his lips and placed it behind his ear, he wasn't going to be placing a thing in that pocket till he was able to fix it. He was just glad that all his money was in the other one. Grabbing his last newspaper he rolled his eyes the headlines were terrible, no one cared that the mayor was running for re-election.
"Thank blood god."
Drifter glanced over at the new person and smirked. Putting the paper down he stood up, placing his hat back on his head pushing it back a bit so his reddish brown hair stuck out. Walking up to her he smiled his charming smile. "Ya got a light?" He asked her taking his cigarette from behind his ear again.

"Ya got a light?"
She heard a low voice and she looked over her shoulder, seeing a guy around her age looking at her with a smirk on his face. She never saw him before, and he looked like a newsie with his bowler hat on and newspaper in hand. She tossed him her lighter and took a deep drag, seeing the smoke go through her system and out her mouth.
"What brings you out here, there's hardly any people who come out here ya know." She explained as se watched him with a cocked eyebrow.

Catching the lighter he nodded his head in thanks as he placed the cigarette between his lips and lit it. Taking a drag from it he smiled, it was a damn good cigarette. "Thanks." He said tossing the lighter back to the girl and blew the smoke out to the side already starting to relax.
"What brings you out here, there's hardly any people who come out here ya know."
"Felt like gettin' away for a while" He said scratching the back of his neck, giving her a smile. "What about you?" He asked as he leaned against a crate his arms crossed, the cancer stick once more hanging from his lips.

"What about you?" Piper shrugged when she heard him ask about her coming here. She looked up at the sky and pushed her red hair from her eyes, inhaling a deep take of smoke and smiling, feeling more relaxed then ever.
"Same, had to get away from sellin' me papes." She replied fixing something on the hem of her skirt and standing back up straight.
"The name's PIper." She replied, holding out her hand for him to shake. Hey at least he would be a gentleman and shake her hand when they were talking, if not, then he was just like the rest of the newsie boys, minus a fair few. They mostly were all rude, thinking they were hire than girls.

"Same, had to get away from sellin' me papes."
He nodded his head in understanding and slipped one hand into his pocket the other one dangled at his side as he smoked. He looked at the girl and smiled at her as he kicked a rock away from him and hit a crate a few feet away from him.
"The name's Piper."
Pulling his hand out of his pocket, he pushed himself away from the crate and shook her hand. "Hiya Piper, I'm Drifter." He said with a smirk, "So what borough ya from?" He asked as he blew out some smoke rings, he loved doing that.

"I'm from Manhattan." Piper replied, eyeing the boy to see who he was. He looked rather cute, compared to some of the boys that were a bit rusty and old, he looked young and in his prime, rather cute actually. She cocked her eyebrow in a seductive way, but also in a friendly way.
"How about you? A boy of your charm must be from Manhattan, or the Bronx." She knew a couple of boys that were good looking that came from the Bronx, must be a ground of gook looking boys.

"I'm from Manhattan."
His smirk turned into a smile at her look. He had to admit she was cute, and he liked her attitude, he would like to get to know her better. Slipping his hand back into his pocket he looked at her, she sure was cute.
"How about you? A boy of your charm must be from Manhattan, or the Bronx."
"The Bronx," He said flicking the ashes off his cigarette. "Haven't been there long though," He nodded a bit moving forward to lean against a crate next to her. "Ya been in Manhattan long?"
