He looked thoughtful at her mention of Sweets, sure he had heard the name mention among newsies before. He still wasn't convinced Tate was in short supply of friends, but he nodded regardless. "Friends can be overrated, always naggin' and needing something." He said it lightly with humor in his voice, but he did believe there was a little truth to it.

The idea of friends being a burden had never occurred to Tate. Being how she was she saw every person that came into her life as a blessing unaware that someone would truly do her harm. She never thought about it, chuckling she felt the strain in her leg but ignored it. "So, seeing how we are friends am I naggy and needy?" she tilted her head at him and her eyes said it was a joke and she really didn't expect an answer but she looked back at the cobble stones and looked around a little, gauging the neighborhood. "We're getting close, another couple blocks.."

"So, seeing how we are friends am I naggy and needy?"
He shrugged, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. "We'll see huh?" He couldn't suppress a small grin, though he was sure by now she would know when he was only joking.
"We're getting close, another couple blocks."
He nodded, looking around at the fairly nice apartment buildings around them. It wasn't an area he frequented, but he was glad to see she lived in a nice part of the city.

"We'll see huh?"
She chuckled, catching his smile and returning it. "Ah, so that's how it is.." She was grinning as she looked around the buildings as they edged towards their destination. She couldn't seem to come up with any reason to leave but she knew that she had to get inside and get her leg cleaned and taken care of.
"Oh here it comes--" the apartment building was coming up and looked at him as if to ask him if he was ready. She wasn't sure she was ready to say goodbye.

*NEW DAY*
Fighter sighed as she finally got her beer and made her way through the crowd to her usual spot. She climbed on top of the crate, intent on watching the fight and hopefully winning a bit of money. She'd come here to relax and get away from her thoughts and Brooklyn. For once the hairs on the back of her neck didn't stand up and she didn't have the feeling of being watched. It had seemed like months since she'd been this comfortable anywhere.

Zeke had been taking some blows and he smirked when he ended his fight on a knock out, brushing his hand over his newly swollen jaw he spotted Fighter and headed over without even waiting for them to raise his hand and give him the glory applause.
"You look like youse thinkin to hard.." he grinned at her as he leaned on the rope, someone was talking to him and he waved them off easily. "Missed your face, Fight. You been kinda outta it for the last bit.."

Fighter smirked when Zeke walked over, ignoring the fact that people around him were trying to congratulate him on the win. Fighter leaned closer to him her smirk widening, "I have been thinking to hard lately. That's why I'm here." Although she would never admit it to anyone, including herself, Zeke's comment about having missed seeing her around warmed her deeply. With a nod to the guy on the ground, Fight jumped off the crate. "Nice hit."

"Thanks, doll," he grinned at her and moved out from under the rope, still ignoring everyone. "How you been?" since that Day at the docks and the lodging house when she'd had to be taken out. he was actually concerned.

Fighter shrugged, she didn't really want to talk about those things. She hated losing her control in front of the others and it had a been a big blow to her ego to lose it not just in front of her friends but in front of her leader and people she barely knew. Fight smirked, "Doing good now."

He moved from behind the ropes and ignored the rest of the crowd as he hopped down and grabbed a towel that was hanging over the wood. He was still grinning, even as his jaw began to swell form the impact he'd taken. "Was supposed to fight Lefty today, but there's some crisis in the Bronx and he didn't make it.."

Fighter nodded, but didn't say anything about the crisis. She simply didn't even care to think about what the problem was right now. It would just give her an entirely new headache. "Now that would've been a fight to see, not sure I'd be betting on you then." Fight gave him a cheeky grin.

He raised a brow and his jaw fell, "I'll have you know that Lefty only beat me twice and then we went ta McGinty's afterwoird.." he smirked a little at that, between Lefty and Danny they were his favorite to fight. And Probably Calico. "What brings you to the ring, Fight?"

Fight smirked up at him, "Well I heard you were fighting and I couldn't resist winning a little extra money." Pushing her hair back from her face, Fighter took a drag of her cigarette. "Thought you might wanna grab a bite to eat or a drink when you were done." Fight shrugged, she really just wanted to get out of Brooklyn for a bit and the boxing ring was like a refuge to her.

Food? That was something that always appealed to Zeke and he nodded his head, dropping an arm around her shoulders as easily as if he always did so. "Alright, Doll. You've got yourself a deal.. Hell's Kitchen?" She didn't look to much like she wanted to head back to Brooks.

Fighter nodded and gave him a smirk, "Sounds good to me." Fight barely noticed when Zeke slung his arm over her shoulder since all the guys were in the habit of doing that. Although she did notice how good he felt standing so close to her but she pushed that thought out of her head.
