There's usually a few Brooklyn newsies looming out front intimidating the public.

Danny leaned back against the cold building, only his silhouette visible through the night shadows, and the occasional glow across his face as he puffed at his cigarette. He'd arrived back from The Bronx nearly an hour ago, and was positive from Tate's recollection of her attacker that the perpetrator was in fact from Brooklyn.
He sighed, blowing out a puff of smoke. He didn't know who he could trust, having assumed before tonight that he and the Brooks girls were all on good terms, and in most cases, even friends. But he'd been getting jabs for the past month about his friend in The Bronx, and seeing as Tate would never hurt a fly, it was obvious that while unbeknownst to himself, he'd clearly made an enemy in Brooklyn.

Fighter picked up her pace as the lodging house came into view and smiled when she saw Danny standing out front. Lighting a cigarette she made her way towards him. It had been a hell of a day, the pub she was working at had been busy all day. Taking a drag of her cigarette she stopped a few feet from Danny, "Hey, how've you been?"

He shrugged, his cigarette dangling from his lips as he spoke. "Been better." He didn't suspect Fighter, not for a moment, but when it came down to it he couldn't think of one of them he didn't trust. "Any of you ladies been visitin' The Bronx?" Brooklyn was all about loyalty, but from what he'd observed the girls specifically were tighter than any family he'd seen-- which could mean Fighter's lips were sealed. He didn't like questioning his trust in the people around him, being more accustomed to simply blending in and being ignored. If Brooklyn started breaking from within, well, he was out.

Fighter nodded when Danny said he'd been better, most of them these days weren't having the best of luck herself included and she wasn't going to pry into why. When Danny asked if any of them had been to the Bronx, Fighters eyes narrowed slightly and she shrugged. "Not that I've heard."
Of course, if she had heard about one of them going there she probably wouldn't say anything until she knew why he was asking. At least that went for most of the girls at the house, certainly not all of them. And Danny was someone she believed she could trust so she would most likely tell him eventually unless it was Lucky or Smalls depending on what had happened. "Why? Something happen there?"

Lucky came out the lodging house, her hair piled on her head from working in the restaurant and she sighed, pulling out a smoke until she spotted Danny and Fighter and made her way over. "How's you're Bronx girl Danno?" she raised a brow and leaned on Fighter as she took out her smoke and lit it. She'd been the one to give him the information about Tate getting thumped on. Because he seemed to need to know.

Before he could respond to Fighter's question Lucky stepped outside and sort of answered it for him, he merely clarified. "Someone went after Tate." He blew out a puff of smoke, removing his cigarette from his mouth and turning toward Lucky. "Not good," He paused, taking a long drag before continuing and looking her straight in the eye. "So what can you tell me?"

Lucky raised a brow at Danny and had to think about it, "Woah.." she held up her hands and shook her head. "I ain't going to thump on your Bakery girl, Danno. For one, she gives me free food and for another I wouldn't do that to a mate's girl without a damn good reason and I don't have one... what's the deal? Some girl from Brooks mess her up or somethin?" she could also vouch for Smalls. They were generally always together anyway.

Fighter's eyes widened a bit when Danny mentioned that his girl had gotten beat up and then narrowed once more when he looked accusingly at them. She knew his emotions were probably riled up and it was completely understandable considering the situation but she had no reason to go after Tate and she knew Lucky and Smalls would never hurt someone who gave them free food. "Did she tell you what the girl looked like?"
If it was a Brooklyn girl, she would be more than a little pissed off. No one should jump a friend of Brooklyn newsie without a damn good reason. Especially when that newsie happened to be her friend. Fight took a drag of her cigarette and frowned.

Danny sighed, pushing his weight off the wall and flicking his cigarette stub to the ground. "I aint blamin' you, just want to know what you can tell me." He rubbed the back of his neck and sighed, pulling out another smoke. He was damn tired.
"Did she tell you what the girl looked like?"
He turned to Fighter and shrugged, covering his match as he attempted to light his cigarette against the breeze. "Didn' have to," he paused, remembering her black eyes, cracked nose and bloodied lip. "It was Brooklyn."

Fighter nodded and figured the girl really must of gotten a beating for Danny to know out right it was someone from Brooklyn. "Well, I ain't heard anything and there's too many girls in Brooklyn to know for sure. I mean I don't know why anyone would beat on her." Although Fight had an idea of who it might be, there's no way she would blame the girl without proof. She also wouldn't even say her name until she talked to her and found out why she did it. Maybe there was a reason behind it that Danny just didn't understand. Girls were after all very complicated creatures.

Danny raised an eyebrow but remained silent, puffing at his cigarette and looking out at the dark streets. Brooklyn girls really weren't all that common as far as he was concerned, out of about six it shouldn't be too hard to narrow it down. Agitated he blew out a puff of smoke, responding to the last part of her comment. "Nothin' she did."

Lucky held up her hands for a moment then folded her arms. They were loyal as sin as far as Brooklyn went, they would never turn on each other but it didn't mean they weren't going to ask. "Fight and i have plans with the rest of the girls, we'll ask a few questions for ya alright?" Because they could be sneaky about it but it was only for one reason.
"I aint sayin that I like your Bakery girl, though like I said she gives me free food and I ain't gonna snub it. But I am sayin your this upset? We'll get to the bottom of it.." She nodded at that. Lucky could handle things when she felt like it.

Danny just nodded, hoping they would figure it out soon. He'd told Tate that he would take care of it, and that meant making sure it would never happen again. With a sigh he leaned back against the building, continuing his watch of those who were coming and going from the lodging house. Maybe there was just someone he was missing..

Fighter finished her cigarette and tossed the end of the butt to the ground, stomping it out beneath her foot. She felt uneasy thinking about the kidnappings and Danny's girl getting beat up. They didn't seem to be related but it made her wonder for a moment before she pushed the thought from her mind. "Don't worry, Danny, if it was Brooklyn, we'll be able to find out."
