She thought about it and turned, bracing her hands on the back and standing where she was. She could have tried to hide her smile but she didn't, "Well I think your incredibly heroic dismount has changed my mind.."

He gave a genuine smile, a bit flattered by being considered heroic. Most of the time he hated himself for his job, but perhaps he could still do some good now and then. "I don't know that it was heroic..." he looked down bashfully, but glanced up with an amused smirk. "Gallant, brave, maybe courageous.." He nodded with each one, a mock thoughtfulness etched on his features. "But heroic? Nah."

She laughed, actually it felt good to laugh after the fight she'd had with Marie. He looked bashful one minute and the next he was smirking. What a contradiction. "White Knight was what I was thinking when I first saw you actually.."

Mike laughed out right at her comment, walking back over to his horse as he spoke. "I don't think a rookie in the corrupt joke this city calls a police force really qualifies as a knight..." Having grabbed the reigns he led the slightly anxious animal over, rubbing down his nose with one hand as he continued. "But who am I ta argue with such a title, huh?"

She smiled softly, reaching for the horses nose before pulling back. "Who indeed.." She had actually had to go to the Pinkerton's to go after her brother. She sighed and shook her head, "It's not just the police force that is corrupted, Officer-- it's the government in general. Run by those that can afford to spit on others and act like they are so much better.." she sighed, shaking her head before she smiled at him again. "But you are one of the better ones, it would be a shame for someone like you to give him to them.."

He watched her intently as she spoke, shrugging at her assumption that he was better than that. "Yeah, I guess it would.." He didn't consider himself better, he was just as bad as the next guy that locked up kids for having no where to sleep at night. "Well," He tipped his hat before mounting his horse. "Have a nice day miss..." He waited for her to give her name, grinning ever so slightly.

She tilted her head, watching him curiously before she spoke. Her mood no longer as sour as it had been since leaving Marie but her problem wasn't resolved at all. "Evangeline Macleane..." she said with a nod to him. "Be well, Officer.." Assumptions not really, but she didn't know many men that would charge to save a woman from leaping off of a bridge. Really most of the men she knew would either gawk or encourage.

<< New Day >>
Dice had just out ran a cop and she was out of breath so she had decided to stop at the Brooklyn Bridge to catch her breath. Dice bit into her apple that she had stolen and she flipped open the wallet that she had taken out of a man's pocket without him noticing. Dice had many years of practice so she could do this kind of stuff with no sweat...but if she had decided to be a newsie then that would probably take forever...Dice wasn't good with adults....well most adults hate her sense she is a pick-pocket and has no family.

New Day
Bear was standing on the bridge, just taking in the fresh air. The bridge was his favorite place on earth, his thinking place. He gripped his slingshot just rubbing his finger over the polished wood. That seemed to be a habit of his.

.He saw a boat with fishermen. They had a net full of fish. His thoughts drifted back to the days when he went to school and he couldn't go anywhere without being called "fish boy" or "Jonah Fishman". Even at home, his older brother would tease him and call him that. That was the one thing he hated most being called that. Bear gritted his teeth, glaring down at that net of fish.

Bear always had a bad temper. He wanted to calm himself down. The only way to do that was to get revenge, he looked down at the fisherman and then down at the slingshot in his hand. A slow mischevious grin spread across his lips and he pulled a shiny smooth stone out of his pocket. With perfect and careful aim, he pulled back and released. The stone went spinning down fast, hitting the fisherman in the back of the neck.

Moon had been desperately bored in Queens, and thought that Brooklyn would be a better place, since it was Spot Conlon's territory, and it was crazy. She was thinking of going to Manhattan, since it would be safer, because Prince finally hooked up with Jack, but she didn't like Manhattan as much as Brooklyn.
Leaning up against the railing of the Brooklyn Bridge, she burst out laughing at a boy who was around her age that hit a fisherman in the head with one of his marbles he shot out of his slingshot. Moon suddenly realized she was in hearing distance, so she slapped her hand to her mouth and was blushing furiously, hoping the boy didn't turn around.

The fisherman grasped his neck and looked up. He spotted Bear with his slingshot and shouted. "Hey, you streetrat!!! Oh you think your so funny! Well you won't be laughing when I call the coppers!!" Bear made a face and ducked down so that the man couldn't see him. "Hey, where'd ya go?" the man shouted, waving his arms wildly. Bear peeked just in time to see the man fall out of his boat and a loud splash followed. Bear ducked down grinning mischeviously and holding in a laugh. He heard a faint giggling and turned around. What he saw made his breath catch in his throat. It was a beautiful blonde girl, her hand was up to her mouth, hiding a smile and she was blushing.

When the boy turned around and stared at her, she started blushing even more. Moon lifted her hand off of her face and waved to him, mouthing the word 'hi'. She was still smiling, but kept blushing all the same.
