This is Marisa's Flower cart carrying everything from daisies to roses. Be careful though, the owner is known to be a little... excentric.

Marisa put on a plain white apron over her simple light blue dress and pasted on a smile. "Flowers." she yelled out.

Lexi had been walking for what seemed like hours, but she knew it couldn't have been. She wasn't having the best of luck finding a job, but she figured she may have a bit more luck in Manhattan. After all she had dressed in her nicest clothing so she could find a respectable job somewhere. She passed by a woman calling out flowers and glanced over giving her a smile, wishing she had money so she could buy one. Lexi loved the scent and look of most flowers and loved buying them occassionally just to look at.

Marisa noticed the smile from the young woman. Her hazel eyes focused on her. "Would you like a flower?' she said as she moved closer to the black haired beauty. "It is only a Pennie." her smiled didn't fade as she held out a small blue flower.

It was just a penny afterall, she thought perhaps she could spare just one penny. Lexi smiled and stepped forward, "That would be wonderful actually, I'd love one." Her smile widened just a bit and she plucked the penny from her pocket, hoping she wasn't going to regret this. She was trying to change her thrifty ways with money but flowers were her downfall. Lexi held the penny out to Marissa.

Marisa seemed to brighten at the sight of the penny. She wasn't really hurting for money, but EVERY cent was precious. She really didn't have to work at all, since her brother took care of her financially, but sitting around all day was far too boring. She started out stalking her niece. Then her brother suggested that she do something wee bit more useful. She gingerly took the penny and handed the small blue flower to the young lady. "Would you like another? You can have a deal 2 flowers for 1 penny." she smiled.

Lexi's smile widened, "That would be wonderful!" Thank you so much. Lexi couldn't believe what a nice woman she was to give her two for one. She knew she shouldn't have spent the penny but at least she was a getting a deal from the woman.

She meant the deal for the second purchase, but luckily she had caught Marisa in a very good mood, which is hard to do. She is not generally giving, and can be down right mean, but not today. She walked smoothly to the cart and picked up a beautiful red flower. 'Here you go. This is a one time only deal." she said with a smile as she handed her the flower.

Lexi being the naive girl that she was, didn't even catch on to that fact. She took the flower and nodded gratefully, "Of course, thank you so much again. These flowers are just so lovely." Lexi tipped the flowers towards her nose and inhaled, she may do something with them and her hair. She was already thinking up ideas of what she could do. She used to put her hair and put a flower behind her ear before she went out gambling. It had been her trademark but she didn't want to do that again, it may be to tempting to go back to her old ways.

Marisa smiled as she watched her take in the fragrance of the flowers. She loved flowers you could almost say that she was passionate about them. She knew every kind from mundane to exotics. It was all thanks to her brother. He sent them to her from his digs and he sent the most beautiful flowers and even some strange plants. "Well you have a nice day and hope to see you soon." she said as she walked closer to her cart. Normally she would be goating her patrons to buy more, but seeing someone who seemed to be truly enjoy these tiny lives was refreshing.

Lexi smiled and nodded, "You too." She was so excited and she felt much better about how unproductive her day was all because she had a couple of flowers. Now though she needed to get herself back on track and continue to look for a job unless she wanted to start skipping meals so her brother could still eat.

>>>NEW DAY<<< Valerie held the flowers to her nose, smiling and inhaling the scent of roses. Her very favorite scent and better yet in her favorite color: yellow. She was ) wearing yellow this afternoon( as a matter of course, she thought she looked rather nice in the color. If only her mother would stop sending her those awful pink dresses. It might have been in fashion, but Valerie never was one for bright colors. She wouldn't send the flowers to anyone. There was no one she knew in the hospital, no one needing to get better. Though she didn't know many people anyway. She toyed with the idea of getting a job just to meet new people and keep herself occupied. But less fortunate people needed one more than her. Besides, she did have her music lessons, but very few students. She pulled a few calling cards from her purse, along with the money to buy two dozen roses, yellow and white, and handed the money to the cart owner and the cards, "For you. And your costumers, if you don't mind." Valerie gave a sweet smile, taking her wrapped flowers from the girl.

Jerry had started his morning with a quick argument with his brother over, of all things, pie. Particularly over the current lack of pie in their apartment. Jensen had been very tense and quick to start an argument lately. Seeing how he had the day off from the docks and planned on staying home, Jerry made a quick exit from the building as soon as possible.
He'd spent a while in the park, but couldn't seem to find anything that triggered his inspiration. So he went in search of it elsewhere, wandering the streets with no particular destination. He wound up in Manhattan, where things seemed to be a little... cleaner. Ha.
He spotted a woman selling beautiful flowers from a sidewalk cart, and quickly decided the thing to do would be to buy a few of them. He could set them up on his desk, and maybe they'd help him find inspiration--tomorrow, when Jensen was back at work and he was able to sit down to his typewriter again.
He nosed through the flowers for a few moments, considering what he wanted to purchase. The daisies were certainly pretty, their open white blooms looking so optimistic and full of energy. Young girls, they were, with light yellow hair and pale skin, who could never see any wrong with the world. Next to them were the old stand-bys, red roses in full bloom. Older women, more experienced, more knowing of the ways of men, but self-assured in their brilliance. Bluebells--small children waiting in line. Pansies--round-faced cherubs.
He wondered how strongly his brother would tease him if he knew Jerry had just found inspiration at a flower cart. A botanical Wonderland.
Okay, now Jerry rolled his eyes at himself. That was a pretty damn sorry case of over-reaching. Awful. Maybe flowers were a bad idea. They made him sappy.
Glancing up, ready to turn and try to find inspiration in a fruit cart instead, he spied a woman on the other side of the cart, cradling a bouquet of beautiful yellow and white roses. Jerry had always been painfully shy around girls, stricken by their beauty--this particular girl had him altogether speechless for a moment. But he was, after all, a gentleman. Swallowing hard, he gave her a smile, and stammered, "Erm, m-may I give you a hand, ma'am? Carry your flowers, I mean."

Valerie was lost in her own world, or perhaps rather her own little apartment, already daydreaming of were her assorted arrangements of white and yellow would be scattered throughout her apartment. She chuckled hearing the voice before even turning to look at the boy. Boys were terribly silly. Always stammering and tripping over themselves. Well, the only ones worth a pluck nickle to her, anyhow. Oh how Daddy hated a boy who was shy, but Mother knew best. The more they struggled to gain your attention and blushed, the longer they would stay with you to make sure they held it.
Valerie turned to Jerry finally, handing him only one of her dozen, "How very kind of you, sir." She gave her own shy smile and offered her hand to him, "Valerie Cartwright. And who do I have the pleasure of carrying my roses?"
But gracious did this boy have the sweetest smile Valerie had ever seen. And dimples. Oh, how she loved a boy with dimples.

Recalling his Cotillion lessons, Jerry took Valerie's hand gently and placed a light kiss on the back of her knuckles.
"Jerry Flynn, miss," he said by way of introduction. The way she didn't immediately reject his offer and walk away laughing steeled his nerves, and he carried on. "And the pleasure is all mine, I assure you." He took a sniff of the roses she handed him, and smiled. "You have wonderful taste. Roses are classics, elegant beauties that withstand the test of time. Very befitting for a lady."
He winced in spite of himself. Definitely no flowers. He was aiming for Great Expectations, not Jane Eyre. And if he started spouting off like this around Jensen, he'd never hear the end of it.
Clearing his throat, his nerves coming back in light of his spew of overindulgent blabbering, he asked meekly, "I imagine you'll want to get them into a vase before they wither in this heat, may I escort you home? I've heard there are young girls going missing when left to their own."
