PERSONALITY

Noah may be cocky and short-tempered but he is a quick thinker, and someone you definitely want on your side in a fight. Be careful not to get on his bad side or to mess with anyone he considers a friend, because he holds grudges and won’t think twice about letting you get VERY familiar with his fists. To anyone who doesn’t know him personally, he can seem cold, broody, and distant. But, to his friends, he is known as being charming, loyal, and someone you can always trust.

Noah is loyal to his friends--most of which are Brooks Newsies--and will do anything to protect them and his borough. He respects Spot--and even Lucky and Smalls--greatly as leader, and will agree with most any decision that is made as such. He respects women and tends to be a bit of a flirt. Although, he is very trusting of his friends, he won’t easily trust a stranger. He’s suspicious of anyone he doesn’t know, until they give him a reason to trust them.

HISTORY

Noah’s mother and father were what the Australian’s called ‘drivers’. They lived always on the move and drove cattle to market across vast and treacherous landscapes. They lived off the land and called the Outback home. When Noah was born, his very superstitious parents feared their firstborn was bad luck because he was born with one blue eye and one brown eye, so they sent him away with the midwife to be killed. Taking pity on the baby, she ran-away, gave him a name, and took him to the over-crowded orphanage in Brisbane, Australia, pretending he was her own child.

Noah spent the first ten years of his life in an Australian orphanage. He was an unhappy child and always started fights. He was often referred to as ‘The Little Beast’ and was often left to his own vices because most people who worked in the orphanage feared he was a bad omen. A month before his eleventh birthday, he had enough and ran away. He lived on the streets in Brisbane for two years on his own; pick pocketing, stealing, and terrorizing the locals. One day to escape from local police, he stowed away aboard a ship headed for New York City, America.

Soon after arriving in New York City, Noah was caught stealing and sent to live at the refuge. He kept to himself, would reject anyone who tried to befriend him, and would spend his time sulking and listening into other kids conversations. After several months, with some sceming and quick-thinking he managed to escape and made his way for Brooklyn to become a newsie--he heard talk about each of the boroughs from several newsies in the refuge and Brooklyn sounded like the best place for someone like him. He quickly fit right in with the other Brooklyn newsies and has been working as one himself ever since.
