ASH'S OTHER CHARACTERS
Edvard “Eddi” Keirsted
Quiet | Friendly | Easy-going | Protective | Loyal | Musician | Former Brooklyn Newsie| Dock Worker

Edvard was born to Wilhelm and Rosalind Kiersted in Copenhagen, Denmark. His father worked as the assistant manager of the Royal Danish Theatre and his mother was an actress in the theatre. Mr. and Mrs. Kiersted raised their five children to appreciate theatre life. When they worked, the children came to the theatre with them, and everyone who worked in the theatre, enjoyed and helped raise the children. Edvard would spend his time, as a child, sitting on the edge of the stage listening to the orchestra rehearse.
By the time he was 11, the orchestra conductor took Edvard under his wing and taught him to play several different instruments--the classical guitar being his favorite. A few months after his 16th birthday, Edvard became bored and restless with his life and to his parents dismay, he packed his bags and--after bidding his younger sister's and parents goodbye--boarded a ship bound for America.
Several weeks later, Edvard found himself on his own wandering the streets of New York City, with no money to his name for lodging, a battered suitcase in one hand and his classical guitar slung on his back. After several cold sleepless nights and a few meager stolen meals, Edvard found himself bumping into a newsie boy--about his age--who introduced him to life as a Newsie.
He worked as a Newsie for a year and a half--making several friends who became like family to him--before he quit and got himself a 'more adult' job as a dockworker, loading and unloading cargo from ships. Although he no longer works as one, he still has many Newsie friends and visits them most everyday. In his spare time, Edvard can be seen strumming his guitar and writing new songs to play on his guitar.
Anyone who knows or meets Eddi, know him as a quiet, friendly, and easy going guy. His independence and his classical guitar is his most precious possessions. Although he tends to be a quiet guy, he is known to be quite protective of those closest to him and will do WHATEVER needs to be done to protect them. His silent but “deadly” nature is what helped him to fit in with the Brooklyn newsies when he first arrived, and continues to make him a good friend and confidant to them still...

Tobias “Toby” Whitelaw
Intimidating | Charming | Mysterious | Trustworthy | Fighter| Mcginty's Bartender

Not much is known about Toby’s history--because he doesn’t share much in detail about himself--other then he came from Boston, Massachusetts, and was born August 26th, 1878 to parents Robert and Gwynne Whitelaw. They died when he was 7, leaving him and his sister Katherine ‘Katie’ Anne (who was 9 at the time) to be sent to an orphanage. There, he got himself in a lot of trouble, fighting all the time because he was an angry, unhappy child. After being in the orphanage for 5 years, his sister Katie was sent away to work for a rich couple as a governess to their two young children and he ran away from the orphanage to look for Katie, and started living on the streets.
Living on the streets, Toby learned to be a pickpocket and a great fighter. When he was 14, he stopped pick pocketing and began boxing for money, and being big for such a young boy he won quite a bit. He moved around a lot--always looking for Katie--never staying in the same place for more than a couple months, until he came to NYC when he was 17. Here, he’s become a well-known boxer, and bartends at McGinty’s in Brooklyn on the side for some extra money. He hires himself out as ‘muscle’ or protection whenever anyone needs it (for newsies, he does it free).
Toby can be a bit intimidating sometimes especially to kids and girls because of his size, the constant bruises and scars marring his face and body, and the way he looks at you with his ice blue eyes. He can be quite cocky, and is thought of as dark and broody. But, those who know him well find him to be a loyal friend, quite the charmer, and definitely someone you want on your side in a fight.
At this point in his life, there are no special ladies in his life other than the occasional fling or two. But, maybe in the near future he may be able to charm his way into the heart of some lucky lady...

Charli “Peaches” Carington
Sweet | Feisty | Loyal | Impulsive | Flirt | Irving Hall Singer

Charlotte Mariella Victoria Carington and her three older brothers Edward, Dalton, and Avery grew up in Savannah, Georgia--them learning to be southern gentlemen while Charli was learning to be a proper southern lady. She hated the lessons her mother and grandmother made her take, so when she had spare time she would spend it with her brothers Dalton and Avery, fishing, racing, playing in the mud and getting dirty, etc... On her 13th birthday, her parents and older brother, Edward, put a stop to her "boyish ways" as they would call it. They threw her a huge birthday party and then sent her to live at a girls finishing school in Atlanta, where she was taught poise, etiquette, music, and how to be a lady. She lived there until she was 15 and then she moved back home.
When Charli returned home, she found that her eldest brother Edward had gotten married and had a baby and was living in his own place next door to their parents, and her second oldest brother Dalton was engaged and planning to moved to England after the wedding. Her brother Avery--whom she was closest to because he was only a year older--had caught Typhoid fever at boarding school while she was away. When she wasn't attending the many parties that her parents forced on her, she was caring for Avery--reading to him, singing to him, and playing the piano for him. She spent several months taking care of him until he was strong enough to get around on his own.
On her 16th birthday, Charli was told that she had been promised to the son of her fathers friend. Because neither teenager wanted to marry, a month later the boy helped Charli to sell all her dresses and jewelry and--leaving all the family she had behind--she hopped on a train to NYC. With all the money she acquired from selling her belongings, she bought an apartment and has been working at Medda's as a singer since then, rarely using her real name so her family can‘t find her.
Peaches friends know her as a sweet, caring, and flirtatious girl. She's a devoted friend who will put other’s needs before her own. Although her looks and demeanor often portray her as being a nice and helpless girl, she’s feisty--and can take care of herself--with a temper to match her hair color if you make her mad. Having such a personality with the voice of an angel, has made her quite successful working for Medda at Irving Hall where she and her best friend Sonkai are often seen performing on stage...

Logan “Doyle” Doyle
Arrogant | Care-Free | Smooth-talker | Loyal | Dangerous | Wary | Irish Mafia Second-In-Command

Logan Doyle was born in County Wexford, Ireland. He grew up as the firstborn son to Dr. Ciarán and Mrs. Aisling Doyle, and younger brother to Siobhan and older brother to Eagan and Ruairí. His father and mother provided a priviledge and easy life for their 4 children, for several years. One day, after making deliveries of medicine for his father, Logan returned home to find it ransacked and each member of his family stabbed to death--his father's last breath being that of the murderer's name, his patient Patrick Connelley. He took up the revolver his father had hidden away in his desk, saddled up his horse, and went in search of the murderer. He shot and murdered every member of the Connelly family, leaving Patrick for last to watch his family die. A wanted murderer at the age of fourteen, Logan left Ireland forever and made his way to New York City. After a year on his own as a hired thief and one of the youngest hitmen known, he joined the Irish Mob where his life of crime flourished--becoming involved in murder, extortion, human trafficking, and the management of several 'houses of ill-respute'.
Logan is known to have an arrogant and care-free way about him and is serious when it comes to business. He loves the risk and danger that comes with his job, and he is very good at what he does--fools many into believing he's harmless but in fact can be quite brutal if the occasion calls for it. He can smooth talk his way through just about anything, and knows just what to say to get what he wants. He's loyal to those who are closest to him, and is suspicious and distrustful of everyone who is not.
When it comes to women, Logan knows that with a few sweet words and a handsome smile, he can charm his way into the hearts--and beds-- of most women. And, is often seen with a different woman on his arm every night. He's loving his freedom and the plethora of woman at his disposal, so you won't see him tying himself down to any one woman just yet... unless one comes along that can handle him...

Patrick "Rick" Hanrahan, Jr.
Opinionated | Stubborn | Arrogant| Intelligent| Quick Thinker| World Reporter

Patrick was raised in Spanish Harlem by a father who came from Ireland and a mother who came from Spain. Wanting their children to know where they came from, his parents taught him to speak both Gaelic and Spanish. He grew up as the oldest and only son of three kids, himself and two younger sisters, Shiloh and Camilla. When his father became ill and could no longer work, Patrick had to leave his family to find a job to help support his struggling family until his father was back on his feet. This left him with a hidden resentment towards his father for interrupting his easy, care-free life and making him have to grow up.
A few weeks after his nineteenth birthday, he found a job working as a printer at the WORLD and he began earning money to help his family. He had been working for a couple months when one of the head journalists of the paper came across an article Patrick had written for fun and realized the kid had potential. So, he was promoted to Journalist--making him one of the youngest ever--and he quickly became well respected and good competition for everyone who worked with him. To this day, he still works as a journalist for The WORLD proud of his great success at such a young age.
Much like his younger sister Shiloh, Patrick is proud of his Spanish and Irish heritage. He shares several of the same qualities as his younger sibling—he’s opinionated, stubborn, and arrogant—but unlike her, he holds a hidden resentment towards his father, whom he believes made him grow up faster than he should have and who seemed to always be disappointed in the choices he made.
He is very protective of his two younger sisters—even when they don’t want him to be—and they are the only people he tends to be affectionate with, besides his mother. To those who don’t know him, he appears to be standoffish and shy but he’s really gregarious. He’s quite intelligent for a man so young and a quick thinker, which has helped him become quite successful in his job.
When it comes to women, there is no one special in his life at the moment because he's enjoying his bachelorhood and the many flings that come with it. The most important women in his life right now--besides his sisters--are mrs. typewriter and mrs. camera...
