She's interested in lots of different things. She's not the average person, she's a bit stranger. History Her parents have a more interesting history than hers. Her mother's parents immigrated from Ireland when her mother, Fiona was only a teenager, and while she still remembers speaking Irish, she prefers to speak English. She finds it a more fascinating language than her own. Her mother's parents and her mother as well found jobs upon their arrival. Her mother, Fiona, is a sewer, and she mends clothes for a living. She hopes one day to open up her own tailor shop, but right now she can't really afford the money to buy the fabric to make the beautiful clothes that she wishes to. Mitzi's father, Dayo, is an immigrant from Africa. Not entirely by choice, but at the same time, he was never a slave, and neither were his ancestors. He was a bit of a urbanized African and would be there at the docks when ships would come in. One day while he was loading a ship he sort of... didn't get off in time, and next thing he knew was on the boat to America. He'd always been the sort of man to roll with what life had given him, so he decided to take the opportunity, and with nothing else but the shirt on his back, came to a new world. It was in America the two young people met and fell in love. Soon after Mitzi was born. Her mother had always liked the name Medusa, and thought it was pretty, and of course she has her father's last name. Her middle name, Grace, is Irish. Her entire family is quite religious, so she is as well. Catholic to be exact, and proud of it. She grew up in New York city learning to speak a little bit of her father's native languages, but the man could speak so many from French to some Arabic and Portuguese, so she can speak small parts of everything, including Irish due to her mother, but she is far from fluent. However, she prefers English. And it is what everyone speaks in her family on a daily basis. Right now Mitzi still has a home with her parents. Her mother mends clothes for a living, and her father works on the docks on occasion, when they let him. Most of the time he enjoys playing a drum or making music in the local park. He'll put down a hat or something to collect money from people who pass by. Occasionally Mitzi will join him, though they found this works better if she pretends not know him, and then just joins in. However, for the most part Mitzi sells news papers, enjoys it, and on occasion will stay at a lodging house if she finds herself far from home. It's only been recently however that her father has started to let her go out on her own to make money, so she's only getting started. For this reason he gave her an old knife of his for protection. While she might pull it out a lot to begin with, simply due to being nervous on her own a little, as she gets more comfortable in her surroundings it will probably not be out as much. She's not scared to fight, but smart enough to know when she's outmatched. And would never take one someone she respects. Might as well start somewhere, why not Brooklyn? Where her parents have an apartment. Mitzi isn't very tall, only 5'4" She gets her skin color and her hair color from her mother, meaning she's pale and has red hair. Her eye color comes from her father, so they're brown. She's quite thin, always has been and probably always will be, and is completely okay with that. She delights in bright colors and wears them as much as she can, though it's never as often as she would like, so she usually settles for the cheaper clothing they can afford, but whenever she gets a chance she'll try to wear something vibrant, even if it means taking apart old pieces of clothing and sewing her own herself. Mitzi is all sorts of odd. She's a bit of a liberal thinker due to her parents. She's not very loud, in all honesty she'd prefer to be quiet. Not that she's shy or anything, she just would rather listen than talk. However, she does love a good conversation! She's pretty smart, but only book smart, but wouldn't be one to flaunt it at all. She's a bit of an airhead, and completely misses the obvious, but will notice small details, or things others might miss, usually things that are unimportant. She's still a bit young so she hasn't developed her street smarts yet, but she's making a concentrated effort to really get to know her way around. However, because she's smart she picks up on things quickly, but she doesn't always use her brain so tends to let her mind drift when she's not using it causing her to be a bit scattered. She loses things constantly but doesn't care. She likes people and is very quick to try and make friends. She totally believes in connections. She's definitely a people person. However, she does like playing drums, and she keeps a pair of sticks on her at all times. She doesn't sing, but she likes Irish tunes and loves to listen, and loves to play along. She loves to do impressions, and they're all quite good because she listens so well. Mitzi is always full of energy, ready bounce around and be active! Some people find it annoying that she can't sit still or sit down for more than 5 minutes, but the world is just so interesting to explore that she can't help but go look! For this reason she gets along very well with children, but her adventurous nature might get her into trouble by getting her into places that maybe she shouldn't go. All the same she knows when to quit if she's getting herself in too deep to unfamiliar territory. Mitzi does have an Irish temper, but it rarely comes out because she can't focus on things long enough to get mad about them. For the most part, she respects people older than her, and smarter than her, and if they ask her do to things, she'll happily obey.
