Hey I talked to Jeanna about an idea but it would take a lot of work and would require quite a few new characters so I'm not sure if everybody is really up to that. Basically though it would be the smaller houses within the borough trying to overthrow the main ones and get more territory for themselves. It would start out in Queens and would go from there. It's something that would be in the works and would involve characters from the smaller houses infiltrating the larger ones so characters that may already be set up there could turn out to be traitors working for the smaller houses. I've got quite a few ideas involving this worked out but their incredibly involved so I'll probably expand on this post tomorrow and go into more detail, but it's an idea I'm throwing out there to see what you guys think.

I've thought about a similar concept before, bringing in the idea of a couple lodging houses per borough. Like Harlem, East Side, etc. They wouldn't be quite as large as the "main" lodging houses, but would likely have their own leaders as well, but leaders who understand (Kat's plot not included) that they don't have the authority of the "main" leaders.

I had an idea that could easily tie into that one.
My idea would require a very tight-knit, small, exclusive group. They look and act like anyone else. You wouldn't know one just by looking at him. They swear loyalty to one another and to their leader, and all others are excluded and downsized. What do they do? Try to build their own power and influence at the expense of others. How do they do that? Ruining relationships. Have a girl? They'll steal her heart. Best friends? They'll spread lies to tear you apart. Would never betray your leader? They'll make it so you have no choice. Once an individual is "broken" or alone in the world, if they think he/she will be an asset to them, they offer them membership in their group, offering protection, friendship and loyalty for life.
This time, the threat is not physical. It's psychological and emotional.
What does everyone thing?

Sounds like the thieves guild needs a revival... without the old memebers but new ones to take up the mantel...

That does sound good and it could defiantely play in with a revived thieves guild. Almost like the new generation but much more devious.
