Mag had decided awhile ago, that a place where people were losing their shirt, was just another place to make a dime. He sold his papers well enough, shouting the headlines like he was selling someone a day at the races instead of just some rate hike somewhere. They bought them all while distracted by how he flipped cards and did a trick or two.
As he passed a man that looked to be up in his luck he slipped his hand into the mans coat and pulled out his bill fold before walking way casually, placing a smoke to his lips with a smile, grinning as he walked bast a girl, touching his fingers to the brim of his hat.
Another good day at the track.

"Magy..." she said coming up behind him with a fairly disappointed look on her face. "Ya know the whole point of sellin' papers is to avoid that sorta slight of hand..." though she wasn't really one to talk, she understood why the kid was doing what he was, and wasn't about to scold him for it any further for it. She didn't think highly of stealing money however. Other people in the world needed it too, not just the street kids.
So, she quickly progressed the subject ahead. "How is your... tricky sellin' goin anyway?" she asked with a smirk. She meant, of course, since he did slight of hand and tricks when he sold papers, she wondered if it was profitable for him. True, every newsie sort of had their little gimmick they did, and no one judged the others for it. The whole point was to make the sale and get the money, how you did it was up to you. So Prince was simply curious how he was fairing in comparison to his fellow queens newsies. She folded her hands and continued walking along side him, towards wherever he was headed.

"Hello former leader lady," he replied with a wide smile, pocketing what he'd taken and turned around to drag her around and away from the man that had been-- well someone who had been privy to one of his expertise. "Well now lass.. it's always goin' well ya know.. though I havena seen Virg around lately.. need my team ya know?" Well the truth was he did magic instead of selling papers a lot of the time, it was his gimmick it was true and he made some good money in certain places in the city. But at the moment? He had just wanted to see if he could do it..
"What brings ya out and about then?" he called her lass but she wasn't being leader person anymore and really? He thought she needed to be a girl, look at those hips! And that body, he gave her an appreciative look. "Got that job ya were looking inta?"

Prince didn't mind the casual toss of the "lass" her way. True, she wasn't the most keen on being a girl, but it was Queens, she'd always felt safer there. If she wandered into Manhattan territory though, then she'd shoot the boy a glare for the girly comments. Needed his team, Prince understood that all too well, and the thought of it made the smile on her face a little larger. It always seemed newsies stuck together, and never had she minded it. They all had great concepts, plans and stories to tell to get their money for the day.
Why was she out? Why shouldn't she be? "Just sorta enjoyin' the weather mostly," she said with a small smirk. "Nothin' too bad about a nice hot summer day at the race track." As for jobs, she hesitated a moment. "Hmmm... iunno," she said. She couldn't seem to wrap her head around the word "job" or "employment" or "steady pay check" for that matter. "Guess I'm still sorta lookin' around. Ya know, keeping my options open." Though it was a poor choice in all honesty. She needed a job, she needed a home, she needed to get out of that lodging house and let Styx take over proper since she had appointed the boy. It wasn't that she wasn't ready to move on, she'd mentally gotten herself past that, it was just the actual execution of the matter that she was having issues with. "Got any suggestions for where ya think I oughta be employed?" she joked.
As for being a girl? She'd prefer not, nor did she care to hear his opinion on the matter. Though it may be high time for her to stop pretending like a little boy, grow up a be a woman for a bit, and while it was what she needed, Prince was never one to admit things like that. Just because it was what she needed didn't mean it was what she wanted. However, under the right circumstances, she'd settle, if she must.
