As Calico talked Prince listened, but the way he said that he was busy, and had been around tipped her off that this was where she should stop prying, so she decided to say nothing else about the matter. So she simply nodded. She was on the verge of asking the boy another question as a girl ran into her, and took her attention. Meanwhile, she did notice that Anya was attempting to strike up a conversation making Prince smile, and rather proud of the young shy girl. She was always glad when the newsies stepped out of their comfort zone for the first time and talked to someone besides her.
But now, she had a new person to deal with. "Hey watch it dere!" Prince said in her typical low voice. Prince may be a girl, but she had a fine tuned perfect disguise down an undershirt that kept her girlish figure a secret. No one but her newsies, and a few close friends out side of Queens whom she had told, were aware of her secret identity. She was very protective of the fact that she was a girl. In broad day light she never slipped up. She held tightly to her hat, walked like a boy, talked low like a boy, and had picked up on their mannerisms. It was a constant nearly flawless disguise.
Prince looked up at Cherry with a questioning look. Prince was sitting on the curb already, and wasn't sure why the girl was in such a hurry to get back up on her feet. "Ya alright?" she asked with a tinge of sarcasm in her voice. Obviously, she cared, but obviously the girl was fine at the same time. Thing was Prince wasn't sure she knew who this girl was for sure. "Can I help youse with somethin'?" she asked as she kicked her feet up on the curb, and lifted herself up to stand on them firmly. She looked at the young girl, expecting an answer, her face rather serious.
