Sweetheart smiled at him. "I dearly hope so." she murmured. Then, she turned curious and cocked her head to one side.
"Soothsayer, are you a Newsie? Forgive me for asking, but you just don't look like one." she said cautiously, trying not to offend him.

Soothsayer chuckled and shook his head. He'd never been mistaken for being younger then he was which he supposed was the reason he didn't really understand the issues she was having with that. He knew though that if someone had accused him of being much younger then he was he probably would've replied with some snarky remark about how much older they looked then they actually were. "At least they aren't mistaking you for an old maid, yeah?"
Sooth nodded, "I sell papers now and again." He shrugged lightly, not seeing any reason to explain that he made better money picking pockets or gambling. Especially when one of those feelings hit and he just knew who was going to win that day. "What makes you say I don't look like one?" He was curious as to what was behind her question.

Sweetheart shrugged. "That is a good thing, I guess." she said.
She thought a bit when he asked her what made him look like he wasn't a Newsie. "I don't know, you just don't seem like one. That's a talent of mine. I can tell what a person is generally like at first glance. Plus, your hands aren't stained with newspaper ink." she said.

"I'd say so," Sooth replied with a laugh. He knew plenty of females who would pitch a fit if someone thought they were even a year older then they actually were. He never understood why they were so touchy about it. There were worse things for a person to assume then your age.
"Not very good at it then are ye lass?" He gave her a skeptical look. How could one tell if he was a newsie or not just by appearance. Didn't make a lot of sense to him. "Could be I just haven't sold yet today." Sooth shrugged, the only reason he didn't sell on a daily basis is because he was good at picking pockets and selling newspapers was boring most of the time. He sold when he spent the day with Calico which made him a newsie in his mind. Just one that preferred making most of their money by less then savory means.

Sweetheart shook her head. "No I'm not." she said. Then she stood up.
"I have to get back to my Lodging House. See you around, Soothsayer." She smiled before walking off.
