Quite the nice little beach. Not to big, but open to the public. Relax and enjoy the water, that is what the beach is for after all.

Even if the beach hadn't been public Miranda would have still kicked off her shoes and ran through the waves. She was enjoying her time really, and her free time since she'd been told that Marta was ill and it was up to Lucky to take over the restaurant and make sure it was all running smoothly. Who would have thought she'd be content with work like that?
She got to cook, she served, she kicked people out when they got on her nerves or annoyed the servers. Brooklyn had it's share of rough patches but she had kind of found a place she liked to be. And now she had time to herself.
Laughing she spun around before collapsing on the beach and letting the wave assault her feet, nice, relaxing time to be alone. No Spot at that moment to give her hell, no Zeke finally getting back to his old self, no Fight wandering off to who knows where-- and no waiting for Smalls to get back. IT was just Lucky and the ocean.
That wasn't so bad.

River walked along the beach, kicking the sand beneath his feet as he glanced around at the people roaming the beach. Things were finally getting back to the way they used to be. Although he hadn't seen much of Lexi, he'd seen plenty of his brother wondering around with some girl who kept sneaking into their house. A slight smirk crossed his face as he wondered just what they were getting up to. He was happy the kid had someone to help pull him out of his funk though.
As he took in his surroundings, his eyes landed on a familiar face and a bright smile crossed his lips as he walked towards her. It'd been awhile since he'd seen Lucky and he was glad to find her here. "Hey, beautiful, you all alone?"

She knew that voice, with a smirk she shifted up and looked over her shoulder at him. Not even fighting the smile that danced across her face, it was almost seductive in a way. Lucky did have a lot of appeal she never used.
"Mmm maybe not right now.. no.." she flashed him a slow smile, looking up at him as she bit her lip. "Tell me, why is it every time that I want to see a man I can't find him but the moment I stop looking he finds me?"

River crouched down next to Lucky and grabbed a handful of sand, letting it slip between his fingers before he wiped his hand on his pants. An apologetic smile crossed his face and he shrugged his shoulders, "Suppose that's the way of the world, isn't it?"
He grinned and pulled Lucky in for a hug, before kissing her forehead. "Things seem to finally be calming down a bit here. Heard Conlon was back in Brooklyn."

She chuckled and then wrapped her arms around his neck, shifting a bit so she could sit up and look at him. The words had her nodding.. then she shrugged. "He's also aware we can't keep this up forever, we'll all get older and move one.." somewhat.
She brushed her hair out of her face and let out a sigh, "Marta is sick... she's put me in charge for now.."

River nodded slightly, "It's inevitable." It had been on his mind more and more lately. Younger kids were coming in and he was starting to feel crowded in the lodging house. He'd decided to start looking for a new job as soon as things had completely settled down. It seemed like that time was upon him.
"How's that going?" He asked, his eyebrow slightly arched. Considering he knew what Lucky was planning for her future because it was so similar to what he had planned he thought this was probably a great opportunity for her.

"It's crazy.. I've been spending less time at the lodging house, granted its not like I actually sell papers but it's feeling different.." she turned, dropping herself into the sand as she leaned back, closing her eyes a moment before she laid her head in the sand.
"Hey River?" she opened her eyes and looked over at him, curiosity crossing her face. "Want to help me?"

River nodded his head, he wouldn't mind spending a bit of time away from the houses. Dodger seemed to have a handle on things more than he did before so River wouldn't feel as guilty spending more time away than he usually did. At her question, River studied her face for a moment before a bright smile crossed his lips. 'I'd love to," He stated as he leaned forward to kiss her lightly.

She laughed when he did and took ahold of his shirt drawing him closer, "Who says we can't have our cake and eat it to hmm? Marta needs us to run the place and if we do it well-- who knows she may leave it to us.." she meant every word, her eyes lighting up for the first time in ages.

River's smile widened at the thought and he leaned closer kissing her lightly. "Then we'll just have to show her how well we work together." He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, thinking of what this could mean for their future. He knew what he wanted, he already had Lucky and this could make both their dreams come true.

She got comfortable against him, smiling at the idea. "Heh, a long way from the kids who beat up anyone who looked at them funny haven't we?" she'd been thinking of that too, about who they were and who they had been. She used to gamble and fight and knock people around but now all she did was want to spend time cooking and being -- well with River.
"Heh I think I'm a lot more boring than I used to be.."

River laughed and wrapped his arms fully around Lucky, "You beat them up, I pushed them into the river." Thinking back on the times when they were younger River couldn't help but shake his head. He'd changed so much but so little at the same time. He still had outbursts at times and let his anger get the better of him. River tilted his head to kiss Lucky's temple, "Boring, love? I think not. Just more grown-up."

"Mm I can still beat you within an inch of your life," she pulled back if only to jump on him and kiss him on the lips. There wasn't anyone around and it was just them-- who was going to tell her no. With a small smile she brushed her nose against his and she smirked. "I missed you.. so don't go hiding yourself for so long alright?"

River laughed, "Well I'm thankful then that you're holding back." He knew what Miranda was capable of but she didn't scare him. It took a lot more than her to scare him, especially after all he'd been through. That didn't mean though that he didn't know that she could beat him pretty badly in a fight. "I won't," He responded pushing a piece of hair behind her ear, "You can always find me or leave word for me at the house." He kissed her cheek and pulled back to smile down at her.
