He's the only child from a couple in Tennessee, where he's spent the majority of his life. His father owned a well off business and his mother ran a little clothing store for women and children. He could have had an easy enough lifestyle just following in his father's footsteps and running his business. But that wasn't Butch's dream. Butch loves horses. When he was just a boy his father used to take him to a neighbors farm and he'd help out with the horses. In his spare time he was taught how to groom the horses, see to their health, and train them. By the age of fifteen he was already well on his way to being one of the better horse trainers in Tennessee. At the age of nineteen he told his father that he would like to leave home and move somewhere that he had more of an opportunity to learn horses better. That brings him to Brooklyn New York. At nineteen he bought himself a little place of his own, and went out for the job of horse trainer at the Sheep Head Race Track. The owner must have seen something in him because he'd been given the job, and it's where he's been since. He's most at home with the horses, clicking for them to speed up, cowboy hat on his head and accent calling out to the horses to tell them which way to turn, or how to jump next. He goes above and beyond with his training, because he knows that someday they can be more than just racers.
