PERSONALITY

Shadow is a very intelligent boy. He is both book-smart (even though he's lived on the streets since he was four) and street-smart. He is a boy that would do anything to protect those he trusts. Even so, he doesn't trust very many people. He knows how to fight and can fight effectively even if he's acting on emotions alone, which is very uncommon. He is the kind of guy who can either be your best friend or your worst nightmare. 

Shadow gets his name from his ability to be extremely evasive. He has never been caught stealing even though he steals every day. Unlike what most would think, he's actually a very kind guy who just does whatever he has to do to survive. He's lived out on the streets ever since he was four, when his little sister Brittani Snow was born. 

HISTORY

Shadow Snow was born on February 10, 1881 in St. Louis, Missouri. His father was Andrew Snow and his mother was Amy Snow. His life was pretty normal until his little sister, Brittani, was born. His father had kicked him out of the house because he thought that Shadow would be a really bad influence on Brittani. Ever since, Shadow had spied on his little sister but was never able to save her from his father until she was either unconscious or out of the house. Then, Shadow would go into his old home and fight with his father and he usually knocked his father out cold. When he was ten years old, Shadow had received a permanent scar on his left arm that was a result of his father slashing that arm with a butcher's knife. 

Then, on the eve of Brittani's fourteenth birthday when she had escaped, Shadow followed her and hopped on the same freight train his sister was on. Three days after he had hopped off the train and wasn't able to find Brittani, Shadow spotted her sellin newspapers with a couple of the Bronx Newsgirls. He now wishes to become a Newsie so he could still protect Brittani.
