GENEVIEVE CASSIA DUPONT
NAME: Genevieve Annette Dupont
NICKNAME: Genny, Ginger(comes from Ginny, and her middle name, which means cinnamon. Her mother used to call her ginger because of her hot temper, but subtle sweet side)
AGE: Sixteen
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: France, born in CanadaPERSONALITY
Genevieve is a very unpredictable person. She can be really sweet and other times she can be rather sour. She tends to be more on the nice side, but everyone has those days where they just don’t feel like it. When she's in one of her moods you definitely don't want to get in her way because she tends to let her claws come out. Often she gets in these moods in the morning, as she is not a morning person. She tends to get extremely sarcastic and dramatic when she is upset and is really annoying. This is probably one of her major downfalls, besides that she often takes out her anger on the ones she loves. She usually uses violence to release her anger, kicking things, punching walls, throwing things, and so on. She is a fairly prideful person and usually responds to insults or slander with another insult. She isn’t one to cry about how so-and-so hurt her feelings. She believes she is intelligent and derserves to be treated as so, so she hates it when people think they can demean her.
When she is in a good mood though, it's a whole different story. She loves to laugh and make witty insults. She all so enjoys messing with people, scaring them and all around freaking them out. Don’t be fooled though, she could be laughing and messing around and then turn around and punch you in the gut. Though she is not easily untrusting of others, she is not naive and will not let anyone persuade her otherwise if she has a bad feeling about someone. Often she holds grudges and doesn't let them go hardly ever. She isn't afraid to let someone know when she dislikes them or is upset with them. She isn't afraid to show her emotions, which can sometimes get her into trouble.
She despises being controlled by others and is extremely hard headed. Everyone who knows her well knows that she is not easily persuaded and sticks to her opinions like glue. She gates drama and people who are desperate for attention. She hates all those egotistical people who think they are all that. She is pretty loyal and looks out for the people she loves. Her shell is hard to crack, but she is pretty soft hearted when it comes down to it.HISTORY
Genevieve was born in Canada only a few short months after her parents moved there from France. She grew up in a family of extreme riches. Her family moved to Canada on their way to New Jersey. Her father was born into a family of farmers, extremely successful, rich farmers. He had a very successful farm in France, but after hearing about the new opportunities to be had in the western hemisphere, he and Genevieve’s mother decided that they would go to Canada and eventually make their way down to New Jersey.
In the meantime, the family enjoyed many long years of luxury. They went to fancy parties, had the best clothes, the finest imported foods, and a beautiful house. All three were spoiled to death. Genevieve celebrated many lavish birthday parties and cotillions. She would be lying if she were to say that she was unhappy, but there were times when she would wonder if the life she was living was really for her. She was often moody, but still sweet at the best of times. Her mother taught her to be a lady, and she firmly obeyed in public, but her mother was more lenient when it was just the two of them. She would always say, “If a woman wears her corset for too long, she will begin to be disappointed when she takes it off.” She thought it was important for Genevieve to understand that it was okay to let her hair down every now and then.
It was several years before they even started the journey, fifteen to be exact. Many of their wealthy friends and partners were making the decision to move to the United States, that they decided it would be best for them to head that way as well. On December 13th, 1898 Genevieve and her family boarded a train to New Jersey. After living there for only a short period of time, her father left on business and was killed in a train accident. Her mother was devastated and went to go retrieve his body so it could be buried in France, his home. After her mother left from France, she didn’t return either and Genevieve thought she had abandoned her, but was actually killed by a wide spread of Tuberculosis.
Genevieve was sent to an orphanage in Jersey City, but escaped quickly after her arrival; disgusted with the treatment she received. She fled to New York, which was just across the border. She snuck onto a steamboat and landed into Manhattan. She was still trying to find her feet in her strange new life. Since she was well educated, she was smart, but had yet to learn the rules of the streets. He basic logic and cunning got her far, but she fought for her hunger and thirst everyday. Stealing bread and water will only get her so far. She is starting to realize how hard it is on her own and is looking for a way out of solitude.Who are you?Mappie, 15, pacific, it doesn’t matter to me, Just Ginny
