WELCOME TO NY1899!
We really hope that you’ll consider joining. If you’re confused at where to start this is a good check list to go through! Here is everything that you need to do:
1: Take a look at the Rules.
This is a simple list of everything that you need to know. Chances are good that these shouldn’t be a surprise to you. Still, it might be worth it to familiarize yourself with our policies.
You may want to look around the entire Player’s Handbook, just to orient yourself, and learn a little about the site as well.
2: Make an account. You can make the account name anything you want, so long as you can remember it. There is only 1 character per account, but you can always change the display name in your settings.
3: Check the claims. Chances are good that you’ve got a character in mind already, and the person you want to play that character. So look here at the Name Claim to make sure that your character’s name hasn’t been taken.
And then check the Face Claim to make sure that your characters “play by” or “face” hasn’t been taken. Feel free to post in the face claim thread so that the play by is yours.
4: Create the Character!
You’re now ready to make your character. Here is our application code. All you have to do is copy the code in the Quote and paste it into a new thread! Applications need to be posted Here. The picture that you use in your app should fit into the window, and if it doesn't please use a different picture. The dementions of the picture window are 400x300. When you create a new thread for your character make the title of your thread either First Last or First “Nickname” Last please.

You’re probably wondering what you can do while you’re waiting.
5: Come and say hello! At 1899 we’re all friends, we all help each other, and we want you to be involved in the community! A good way to say hello is to say hi in the Cbox located on the left side of the page. But I also recommend going to our New Members Board. Here you can create a thread and give us a little bit of info about yourself! Feel free to use the template provided (if you don't know what to put in an intro thread), or create an original thread of your own.
If you work mostly over instant messenger, or want to talk to one of us directly check out This Thread. Here you can find ways to contact people via AIM, MSN, or other instant messengers and such. If you can't find what you're looking for there, you can pm someone directly and ask them.
6: Accepted Application. Once your application has been accepted my suggestion would be to say hello to your leader, or the owner of your restaurant, or a fellow worker, or what have you! Here are a few places/ locations/ people that are suggested. (Note: these are not required. You can start anywhere with anyone, but if you don’t know where to start, these are great places!)
