A place to get some drinks and maybe even play some poker.

~New Day(DOM)~
She had been cleaning up for the past few hours and helping the performers in and out of their outfits before she had been told she needed to get ready. She went to one of the extra dressing rooms and extracted her black and red show dress from the clothing closet. She slipped into the dress and adjusted it neatly before looking into the mirror and placing the red feather in her flowing blond curls of hair. She exited the room and when it was time for her slot she got on stage and when the piano started to play she sang the song she almost always performed as she danced around to it as well. She loved being on stage even if it wasn't for a long time, her small slot was enough to make an impact. After her number she exited through the side of the stage before she looked around backstage making sure everyone was doing alright before she was able to go and get a drink. She kept her dress on, she always did after a number until it was time for her to leave for the night. She made her way over to the side table to watch the rest of the show and she slid into an empty seat and ordered a glass of scotch.
She allowed her eyes to watch the performers as she smiled and drank her scotch and crossed her legs, she knew some were looking at her but she disreguarded it, she simply loved to perform, she did not bring much mind to herself in a beauty aspect. She rested an elbow on the table and noticed the table was empty and she wondered if anyone would try to join her, she wouldn't mind as long as they were civil and not dirty men. She chuckled abit at the thought and tried to distract herself with the stage performers.

Dominick had been adjusting well enough to his new life. But he couldn't help the feeling that he was alone in such a big, new place. Sure there were people around him at almost all times, but that didn't mean that Dominick was close to any of them yet. In fact someone would ask how it was hard to get lonely with a kitchen full of people, and yet all he'd have to do was tell them that he was the lone Irishmen and they'd nod in seeming understanding. But they never did fully understand what it was like.
So here he was, after some much helpful hints and pointing, hoping to seek out a good show and maybe some company for the night. It didn't matter what kind of company it was, it just had to make his home sickness leave him for the moment. Was that too much to ask? The pretty blond on the stage tore his attention away from his self pity and loneliness long enough to watch her. Long enough to get a good hard look and wonder if maybe she'd be willing to keep him company for a while.
He tracked her with his eyes for several minutes after her slot and ordering his own drink, slid into the seat across from hers. "You've got quite the set of pipes there, darlin'. Much less the looks to match them." He held out a hand. "Dominick O'Leary."

She pulled her eyes from the stage when a man slid into the seat across from her and immediately was complimenting her. She smiled as she pulled her glass from her lips and when he stuck his hand out toward her she took it gingerly and leaned forward so he could hear her better,"Nice to meet you Dominick, I am NightenGale... you are so, how you say? Umm straight forward?" she said with a soft giggle and a twinkle in her eyes.
She shook his hand and after a moment she let it go before she placed her hand on the table and set her glass down, running her pointer finger along the rim of the glas,"Why thank you for the compliments, you have a nice smile, if I can say at least that much... may I help you with anything or are you simply joining me fer company?" she asked him as she looked him up and down for a long moment and bit her bottom lip, he was definately older than her, but age never much mattered to her, she tended to associate with anyone civil enough to be around.

Dominick just gave her that same wolfish grin that he gave every lovely female he encountered. Really he was a horrible flirt, and a little too well known for saying what was on his mind. When he saw a beautiful woman, he didn't always think with his head. Well. He just raised her hand to his lips and pressed a soft kiss to the back of it, eyes twinkling. "It's an absolute pleasure to make your acquaintance NightenGale." He kept her hand in his for a second too long perhaps and smiled behind his glass.
"Might I say that your name matches you quite well." He gave her a long look before he just chuckled lightly. "Company is exactly what I've come here to find." He paused, eyes twinkling with amusement at her compliment. "Thank you. I've heard that it's a very distinguished thing, my smile." Dominick raised his glass to his lips and took a sip, thinking for a moment. "So NightenGale, do tell me about yourself. I'd love to know."

She grinned when he kept her hand in his and she allowed it as she brought her glass back to her lips for a moment taking a long drink in thought of where to start in answering his question."Well, I suppose I can tell you some about me, but I would like to know about you as well," she said her british accent coming off her tongue the more she spoke now. "My real name is Annabelle Perie, I am from Liverpool,England, my father and mother were stage performers and I was shipped out here about 6 years ago after they died... umm I am a Manhattan newsie, I work here as both a stage hand and a performer... my favorite colors are purple and red, I am 17 years old, anything else you wish to know Mr.O'Leary?" she asked him with a grin as she absently wrapped her fingers around his hand since he was still holding onto hers. She brought her glass back to her lips as she awaited more from him, she wanted to know more about him.

He was fearless it seemed. This pretty etheral woman in front of him should pay someone like him no attention, and yet here he was, her hand in his own, trying his best to charm her. Her accent was lovley too. Different from the ones that he normally heard in the kitchen he worked in. "I think that can be arranged." He murmured, just settling in to sip at his drink and listen to her speak about herself. She was younger than him yes, but he'd known that the second she had stepped onto that stage. Age was nothing but a number to him.
"Such a lovely name." It was another one of those soft murmurs, as his eyes slid to their hands and back to her face, focusing entirely on her. She had his full attention and he wanted her to know as much. "Well we can cover what your favorite animal is, what you do for fun in your spare time, and if you ever miss England." He took another sip of his drink before grinning. "You know my name. I'm from Dublin, Ireland, I have six younger siblings, a mother, and a father. There's also a family dog named peanut back home. I'm a chef, I currently work in Il Capriccio. I'm very much aware that it's an Italian place, also that it's run by Daniel Cardoni." He paused to think, then nodded to himself. "My favorite color is green, and I'm twenty six."

Any normal girl her age at the mention of how much older he was may have flinched abit or maybe distanced herself, but NightenGale never used age as a factor in anything, not most newsies she knew of did either. She grinned when he listed off more things he would like to know about her and she thought about each of his questions. "Umm well I like wolves, for fun, well I sing most of the time and I occassionally draw... umm or drink or go to the park and admire nature, do I miss England? Well sometimes I do, but I enjoy my life here, I have made a family here that I could not have made back in England, the other newsies and the performers here are all I have at this point in my life, so I cherish what I have," she explained to him. She absently gripped his hand gently before she waved one of the drink servers over with her free hand.
She ordered another scotch and then glanced to him,"Would you like another drink?" she asked him before she listened to him explain himself, at the mention of his occupation she smiled and her eyes got brighter,"You cook? That sounds very nice... maybe you can cook for me some time or maybe I will just have to stop in there at some point and try it out," she said grinning.

Truthfully he had been expecting her to draw her hand right out of his. When she didn't didn't he had to smile, because that meant that she wasn't thinking too much about his age, even though he was a great deal older than her. Her answers were actually kind of interesting. She liked a creature that was dangerous and slightly elusive, loved to sing, and she drew? Interesting. "What do you draw?" It was something that he found himself asking before he had the chance to think it through. Or wonder if it was too forward of him again.
He enjoyed the fact that she gripped his hand. When she asked about another drink he nodded his head, telling the server what he'd just had, and ordering a second one. "I understand. I haven't made too many friends here just yet. I'm trying though." She was quite dashing when her eyes lit up like that. "I do indeed. If you want my cooking, my Irish cooking then I'll be more than happy to cook for you sometime. My place, or yours." He paused to smile. "But if you want my Italian cooking, which is usually required at the restaurant, then feel free to stop in there."

She tilted her head at his asking what she drew and she pursed her lips for a moment nobody had ever taken such interest in things she liked to do and wanting to know more about them,"I mainly draw scenery or people... it depends on the day really," she replied as she giggled softly and absently shift her hand in his so her hand lie right so that their hands were palm to palm and she looked down, his hand was a little bit bigger than hers and she smiled at how petite her hands were. She grinned and looked back up at him locking eyes with him,"You have such big hands compared to mine," she said in a tone that was that of almost a curious child. Her cheeks turned a slight pink color as she tilted her head to the other side and her curls followed toppling that same direction.
"I would have to say if the cooking is done outside of the restaraunt it would have to be your place I don't think the other girls and boys at the lodge house would apprecciate not being fed as well if you were to do it where I stay," she said in all honesty with a slight giggle again as she took another sip of her drink and chewed her bottom lip some,"So what do you do in yer spare time hun?" she asked softly.

Had no one ever really shown such interest before? "Things that interest you right? People passing on the street, the tree's after a storm, that kind of thing?" His hand was a good deal bigger than hers, but it made him smile a little more. "So it seems. It comes with age I suppose, and my height. I'm not quite a short man, you see." She was rather endearing when she used that tone, and Dominick had to stop for a moment to just look at the young woman across from him. Pretty, youthful, and talented. Good match.
"How about I cook for you, and if you approve you can tell the others that there's free food for them at my place. How does that sound?" He'd be more than happy to feed everyone if they wanted. He'd do it on his own dime, and his own time. That was just the kind of person that Dominick was. "I try new recipes out, write home to my family, and find just about anything I can do that looks fun." He hadn't taken the time to drink his own drink in a while, so after he'd finished speaking he just sipped it and traced a thumb up and down the back of NightenGale's hand. She was proving to be lovely company. A great cure for his home sickness.

She tried to keep as much eye contact with him as he spoke to her, but that was not very hard, he had eyes that were warm and comforting and a voice that was soothing to listen to. She found herself closing her eyes for a moment when he ran his thumb along the back of her hand and she released a small sigh of content,"Well that sounds lovely Dominick, I would enjoy that alot, you cooking fer meh, I neveh get anything cooked just for meh like that, I will definately take you up on your generious offer, you can pick the time and day and I will be more than happy to show up," she told him. She smiled and her dimples showed and her smile reached her eyes as she sipped on her drink again before she began to answer his earlier question.
"Oh yes, things of interest, scenery, flowers, passersby, buildings, animals it all just depends on what I am around when I am drawing, oh and as fer da hand size difference I suppose you are right, I am quite smaller than you, but that is not much of a bad thing," she said as she nodded abit ressurring her words and then she glanced around the hall, people were slowly trickling out, she hadn't even noticed that the show had ended. She looke to him, she was enjoying this time with him too much,"I am supposed to help clean up this place before I can leave but if you would like to wait around here until I finish maybe you could walk me home?" she asked knowing that when shows ended it was always quite late, normally she didn't mind walking home alone, but if she could have the company it would make her feel better.

Dominick would need to start planning what he was going to cook for her. Maybe he'd do something not too odd. Because starting someone off with something odd was not always a good way to impress. Maybe he'd make her some corned beef and cabbage, with a nice pot of tea and to finish it off some rhubard crumble. Perhaps she'd enjoy that, and she could bring home whatever was left if she'd like. Yes. He thought that'd do nicely. "How about in a few days, after your show? I'll come to get you and we'll have a nice meal?"
"Being smaller can be useful for quite a few things." He followed her gaze to the rest of their surroundings and just nodded. "Go ahead and help clean up, I'll wait for you." He smiled. "I'd be more than happy to walk you home." It wasn't always safe out there for such a pretty lady anyway. Besides they still had to decide on a time for dinner, and see if she'd like him to pick her up here or somewhere else. He lifted her hand to his lips and pressed a second kiss to the back of it. "Go ahead NightenGale. I'll be right here."

She let the pink touch her cheeks again when he kissed her hand and though she did not want to move it out of his, she did knowing she had cleaning to do. She smiled as she finished off the last tid bit of her drink and she stood up. She looked at him and nodded briefly before she took her glass over to the bar for the bartender to clean and she made her way backstage. She picked up all trash, left out clothing and threw the trash away and placed the clothing where it should be. She grabbed a broom and swept up quickly and made sure everything was in its proper place before she went back to the dressing room she had changed in earlier and she slipped out of the show dress and into her black skirt that fell down passed her knees and her white short sleeved button up blouse. She slipped into her black boots and took the feather out of her hair before she checked herself in the mirror and turned off the light to the room before she exited.
She made her way back to Dominick when everything was done and she offerred her hand to him,"Shall we?" she asked him as she took his hand and grinned leading him toward the doors and outside soon enough."I think that sounds nice, you can pick me up after my next show in about 3 days," she agreed as she fell in step beside him and smiled intertwining her fingers with his absently.

Dominick just doodled on his napkin while she was gone. He'd also finished off his drink and passed it onto the bartender to clean out. He thought he had a tentative menu for what to cook her, and knew that he would need to go and acquire some of he ingredients that he was missing. But it wouldn't be too horrible of a challenge. It was a good while that he waited for her, but he didn't mind. After all, a pretty lady shouldn't be left to walk home alone. It was just too dangerous out.
When she made her way over to him he just smiled over at her and moved from his place on the wall. He'd been watching random things the last few minutes of waiting. She looked lovely, just as she had before and he nodded, letting her take his hand. "We shall." His eyes trailed to their combined hands and he just grinned, that wolfish thing that he normally did. "That sounds perfect. It will give me enough time to get everything that I need for what I'm thinking of making." He paused. "I'll come and get you, we'll head back to my place, it'll be fine simmering till I get home, and then we can eat. If you'd like you can bring anything leftover back home with you. To share."
