The Brooklyn newsies bunk room is upstairs and has high ceilings and dirty, broken windows. These windows face the street.

((OOC: I've moved Jewel up here for good reason...LOL.))
Jewel ran up to the girls' bunkroom as fast as possible, and ignored whoever might be there. She headed straight for the washroom.
Once inside the washroom, Jewel clung to the sink, and looked up at her reflection in the dirty mirror in front of her.
"Damn you, Julianne...get a hold of yourself. Youse made a complete jack-ass out of yourself tonight, and youse prolly gonna get a good talkin' to from Spot." She muttered to herself.
Suddenly, she slapped her forehead in realization. *Spot!...Oh shit! He heard everything. I feel so stupid.* she thought to herself.
As she bent down to wash her face quickly, she dried it, and then walked back out into the bedroom.
Jewel sat down on one of the bunks, and buried her head in her hands. It was time for her to start acting like she belonged with this group. Two years of sellin' papes with one of the toughest groups of Newsies, and she still let the slightest things bothering her.
She then climbed up onto her usual top bunk, and sighed heavily. She turned over to look out the window. She heard a clock in the distance chime. It was officially Midnight.
Jewel turned onto her back again, and was officially too screwed up to sleep.
Just then, she heard the doorknob rattle...she turned toward the door.
((OOC: Okay wasn't sure if that was allowed, but I left a little cilffhanger sentence in the end. It's to leave the scene open for someone else to join.))

After playing jacks with Gwennie for awhile, Fighter stood and stretched. She offered the younger girl a smile before telling her she needed to get to bed soon. Fighter wasn't going to make her go to sleep but she knew the girl would be exhausted the next day if she stayed up much longer. Slowly making her way to the bunk room, Fight nodded at a few people along the way. The doorknob rattled a little as she opened it and walked inside. There was nobody really in there so Fighter didn't pay any mind to the fact that she wasn't being especially quiet when she shut the door behind her.
Walking towards her bunk she noticed Jewel and paused for a moment studying the girl. She looked like she'd been crying, but instead of asking if something was wrong Fight just gave her a sardonic smirk and continued trudging towards her bunk. She kicked open the chest at the bottom of the bunk and pulled out a comb. Fight set the comb on the bed before changing.
Once she finished, she closed the chest and sat on top of it her comb in her hand. She glanced over at Jewel and raised an eyebrow, "What's eating you?"
Fighter hoped to god the girl wasn't going to go on and on about her problems. She'd only asked cause it was getting a little too quiet in the room. From what she'd seen earlier she didn't really think she'd end up liking Jewel and she didn't really want to get to know her either.

Jewel sighed as she turned to see Fighter entering the bunkroom. She was in hell. After everything she'd been through today, Jewel just wasn't in the mood to deal with much of anything.
She heard Fighter ask her what was wrong. Jewel was sure that Fighter didn't wanna hear a play by play of the whole day, so she turned to the other girl, and sat up in bed to face her.
"Nothin' is wrong, Fighter. I'se jus' had a long day is all. Fighter? Can I ask you a question? Have you ever been in love? But then it went completely wrong in one fell swoop. I'm not saying I'm in love with anyone... But there is someone that I do like. I jus' need some advice is all." Jewel asked her bunkmate.
She watched as Fighter sat to comb her hair. She was pretty by all standards. Jewel suddenly wished that she didn't have such a screwed-up past. Otherwise, she could allow herself to be that pretty.
All she knew is that the one guy she REALLY liked...was the one guy who was gonna be very hard to get through to after what had happened earlier with her.
((OOC: Sorry it's short. I had to type this quickly.))

Fighter paused when the girl asked if she'd ever been in love. She scoffed lightly and went back to combing her hair. She'd fancied herself in love with Aidan once upon a time, but she'd learned a lot since then and knew that that hadn't been love. No one here knew about Davey so she wasn't going to run her mouth about him and she didn't think what they had was love. At least, not yet. It was still too early for it to be something like that.
Shrugging, Fighter finished combing her hair and set the comb down on her bed before facing Jewel. "Nah, never been in love. I've liked enough guys though," Fighter stated with a smirk. There was no truer statement then that because Fighter definitely appreciated the male figure. "Had it go wrong plenty of times to. He ain't roughin' you up is he?"
A frown graced her lips because as much as she didn't really care for her bunk-mate, she would never let her be a punching bag for some guy. Lucky would tease her about being a mother hen if she heard her, but Fighter couldn't help it. She supposed it was just the way she was and part of the reason she'd taken Gwennie under her wing.

Jewel's head snapped. She was a little taken aback by her roommate's question.
"No! No guy has ever roughed me up." she said, shifting uncomfortably on the bed.
Jewel always saw Fighter as the protector of all the girls.
Jewel then lowered her head "Well, there is a guy that I do like a lot. But... I think Ive pretty much blown it in front of him earlier." she admitted sadly.
(OOC: okay... Jewel just threw a confession out. This is gonna be fun)

Fighter relaxed when Jewel told her that she hadn't been roughed up. It wasn't that Fighters mind automatically went to the worse case scenario...okay, maybe that was what happened, but she'd grown up in a rough neighborhood. It also wasn't that she would protect the girl, but she would tell her to get away from any guy like that. Her experiences had taught her to run and run fast in that kind of situation, especially if you couldn't protect yourself.
Leaning back against her bunk, Fighter crossed her arms and shrugged. "What do you mean, you blew it?" This was bordering on girl-y talk and Fighter wasn't sure she was really up for that. She supposed she'd asked for it though when she'd started talking to Jewel. "Couldn't of been so bad."

Jewel shrugged slightly as she too leaned back on the pillows again.
*Im not gonna cry trying to explain this.* she thought to herself.
"Well, you could always ask Banshee what happened. I made a complete idiot of myself with him before." she sighed.
Jewel then mentally kicked herself for what she was gonna say to Fighter. She wasn't so sure how she would take the news.
"I will put it to ya 'dis way... The guy I like? He saw the whole thing that occured between Banshee and I earlier... and If you were here earlier, you would know who it was." she said.
This was not the easiest thing to tell her roommate. But she was hoping that Fighter was understanding about the whole thing.
((OOC: Okay, here we go. It's the moment of truth...LOL.))

Fighter's nose scrunched slightly as she stared at Jewel, wondering why the girl didn't just come out with it. She frowned, it wasn't as though she went up to everyone in the house and asked them about their business. She'd only approached the subject with Jewel because she'd been bored and it was obvious the girl had been crying. "I was busy," Fighter shrugged carelessly. "Who're you talking about?"

Jewel sighed heavily again. She was nervous...and to say the least, she was almost reluctant to tell Fighter who it was that she was crushing on.
*I guess it's now or never* she thought to herself.
Jewel sat up again, her green eyes glaring at her roommate."Oh, you weren't here that night? Consider yourself slightly lucky. Well, if you must know who the guy is... It's... Spot! There, I said it!" she said in a strong tone, hoping that Fighter wouldn't take offense to her sudden change in attitude.
Jewel then got up off the bed, and paced back and forth across the room "I don't know why these feelings even exist. I mean, I've been workin' for 'im for about 2 years now, and I've always seen him as a egoistical jerk! But sadly enough, these feelings just wont go away." she said.
Just then she took a deep breath, and looked over at Fighter "I must sound a little nuts to you, don't I? Having thse feelings for a guy who can have any girl he wants. He's not gonna even think about returning those feelings. I think he has too much pride." she sighed, stopping in the middle of the room.
She then searched Fighter's eyes for a reaction to her news. She was hoping that she wouldn't have to deal with some big lecture.
(OOC: Geez, this is fun...LOL. Who knows how this is gonna end up.)

Fighter didn't say anything as Jewel spoke, nor did her face give her thoughts away. She studied Jewel intently when it seemed like the girl was done talking. At first Fighter wasn't sure Jewel was being completely serious, but it became painfully obvious that she was as she continued her rant. After a moment, Fighter let out a chuckle which became full-fledged laughter shortly after. It took a minute or two, but Fighter cut her laughter short. It had been a long time since she'd laughed like that and she knew she'd probably pissed Jewel off, but she couldn't help it.
"Eh.." She trailed off, taking a few deep breaths so she wouldn't start laughing again. "Conlon? You serious?" She shook her head slightly.
Fighter didn't know what to say to Jewel. "Don't be disappointed if he isn't interested," She said slowly. She wasn't going to pretend to know how her leader's mind worked or anything like that, but she'd seen plenty of girls interested in Conlon who he never looked twice at. As Fighter's thoughts drifted from the immediate topic, she began to wonder what had happened with Banshee earlier.
"So, what happened with you and Banshee?"

(OOC: Don't know the time frame between this conversation, and the coverse between Jewel and Banshee. But I'm gonna make it the same night.)
Jewel turned her head to face Fighter. She laughed along with her roommate suddenly "Yeah... Jus' imagine that! Me and Spot Conlon? Good, God! I must be insane...But enough about that." she said trailing off.
Just then she heard Fighter ask what happened between her and Banshee. She was ready to tell this story.
"Okay, here we go. Well, earlier tonight, I was outside the Lodging House just having a smoke. There were a couple of people out there. You came later, and you were just a bit tipsy when I saw you." Jewel began.
Then she continued with after a deep breath "After a while, it was just Banshee and I outside. He was having a cigarette too. So, I decided to ask him to watch the sunset with me over the harbor...Nice idea, right? So, I started telling him everything suddenly. About my family, my missing sister...and all that other stuff. On top of that, I was crying. Me? I barely ever cry. But eitherway, I don't know whether it was the atmosphere, or something about the way Banshee looked to me at that moment... But I kissed him out of nowhere." she continued to explain.
Jewel was sure she sounded like a crazy person, but she continued to tell the rest of the story. "But that's not the worst of it. Banshee got angry with me, and told me to head back inside. Then as I walked back into the Lodging House, I saw Spot in th shadows. I felt so damn embarrassed. That's when I ran up here." she explained.
She once again, searched for a reaction from Fighter. "So, what's your analysis on this one?" she asked, suddenly smiling.
(OOC: This is gonna be fun. I can't wait)

Fighter's amusement evaporated for a moment when the girl mentioned she'd thought Fighter was tipsy earlier that night. Fighter may have had her flask out, but that hadn't meant she'd imbibed enough to be tipsy. She scowled for just a moment before her attention snapped back to Jewel's story. The more she said, the more Fighter's lips began to twitch into a smile. Jesus, she'd keep the girl around for entertainment purposes only. At least until it got annoying, which it sort of already was.
Inwardly, Fighter was wondering how this girl had lasted two years in Brooklyn or anywhere for that matter. She seemed a little to soft around the edges to living this life. Fighter didn't particularly care to learn how she'd lasted this long though so she kept those thoughts to herself and her face blank. When asked what her analysis was she gave Jewel a funny look before shrugging again.
"Dunno, but if Conlon saw that I'd be grateful I still had a bunk to call my own." She'd also avoid seeing him for as long as she thought it'd take him to forget what he'd seen, but that was just her. Fighter was tired of this conversation, so she turned and moved from the chest to lay in her bunk. "Anyway, I'm going to bed."
Fighter pulled her thin blanket over her body and laid her head on her pillow. Her back turned to Jewel she let herself smile and shook her head once before closing her eyes. She was wiped, she'd been in Manhattan today so it didn't take long for the tiredness to catch up to her and she promptly fell asleep.

Jewel nodded as she watched Fighter fall asleep. "Yeah...thank God I still have a bunk to call my own." she muttered to herself.
With those words, Jewel yawned and sat back down on her bunk. She was exhausted after a long day of going wild.
Tomorrow would be just another day of selling, and dealing with everything else.
As she sat down on her bunk. She smiled inwardly. The conversation she had with Fighter did her some good, and most of her bad thoughts from that night were gone.
She sighed as she climbed back onto her top bunk, and just wrapped her blankets around her body. She went to bed that night with a new thought in her mind.
*Maybe tomorrow will bring better things.* she thought.
With those thoughts, she laid her head on the pillows, and exhaled a deep breath as she closed her eyes, and drifted off to sleep.
(OOC: Tomorrow is another day...Good night everyone.)
