Fifth Avenue is a symbol of wealthy New York. Newsies who sell here ought to be looking their finest if they want any business.

NEW DAY ~ OPEN [/b][/i] Antoinette was bundled up in her winter coat and gloves, a hat perched atop her curled hair as she walked down the street. Her father had taken his simpering bride to be down to Atlanta to meet her future in-laws. Antoinette had not deigned to join them and was instead enjoying what was sure to be her last few weeks of independence. ' Daddy might not see what a conniving twit that woman is, but I certainly do.' He absolutely refused to listen to anything Antoinette had to say about the woman, which was positively irritating. He always listened to what she had to say but for some reason this woman had turned her father deaf, blind, and stupid to her please. A small sigh escaped her lips as she continued walking down the street. The sun was out and the wind had stopped but there was still a chill to the air. It was something that Antoinette was just beginning to become adjusted to. She'd grown up in the south and this kind of weather wasn't something she'd dealt with before coming to New York. Antoinette was relieved that her chaperone had chosen to remain at the house. It had been hard convincing the woman to stay back, but honestly what sort of trouble could Antoinette get into just walking down the street? It was a relief to be rid of the old bat though. She was always complaining about one thing or another.
