Boats are parked here, and also this is a great place to put a boat into the water. Or just jump off the end and go for a swim.

NEW DAY -- OPEN Lexi walked down the dock, a few strands of hair that had come loose from her braid flying around her head as the wind picked up. She wrapped her arms tighter around her waist, hoping to stave off a bit of the cold that still lingered even though it was early spring. Thankfully, her coat wasn't too threadbare and helped her keep warm most of winter. There were a few holes she'd have to sew up before next winter came upon them but for now it would do. After all it would be spring before too long and she wouldn't need the wool coat. Lexi glanced up towards the sky, enjoying the feeling of the sun on her face before she continued towards the very end of the pier and leaned against the rail. Since she'd come to New York this had become her favorite spot. It was bustling with activity ninety percent of the time and she could stand at the end of the dock and watch the boats or when it was warmer she could go for a swim or just people watch. She was content to wile away many a day here. Reid still didn't understand where she would disappear to or why, but he was beginning to move on from the loss that still shook her to her core. Sure, she could pretend just as well as the next person that things were alright. Bu she only really found a bit of piece here in this spot. It had been his favorite spot. He'd loved to swim. Or ask the fishermen a million questions about their boats. Had he survived longer she'd been planning on taking him out on one for the day. She'd had almost enough money to accomplish that goal. It wasn't to be though. Reid lamented that it was God's will that Perry had been taken. But all she'd seen it as was yet another senseless act of violence committed against those that people believed no one would miss. Her fist clenched at her side and she forced herself to relax as she set her elbows on the rail of the dock. All she needed was time, he said. Well, time wasn't accomplishing anything except making her a bitter harpy. On the outside, she'd forced herself to act as though she had accepted what happened and was in the midst of moving on. For all intents and purposes people believed that she was slowly yet surely becoming the Lexi they'd known before Perry died. Little did they know that it was all an act for their benefit. She would never be that naive girl who had forced her brothers to move to a city they didn't know. A city that had inevitably killed her brother. She would never move beyond that. Not until she had justice for what had been done. That wasn't something she could discuss with the people at the lodging house though. They'd probably think she was unstable. River may even force her out of her position. Not that she was particularly interesting in being co-leader these days. It helped keep her sane though. So she kept all of those thoughts to herself. Only really let herself think them when she was alone.
