A long center aisle, rows and rows of pews, and beautiful stained glass windows show the wonder of this religious structure. This is the place to hold any major religious event such as a baptism, funeral, or wedding.

((New day))
Gwennie's mama and papa had always told her that, no matter how poor you were, there was always someone poorer and no matter how much you wanted or needed something, there was always someone else who needed it more. So, whenever you could, you had to help those people so that they could be happy too. even though she knew she was supposed to do that, it wasn't always so easy for her to do. She usually just spent extra money that she earned on replacing clothes that had gotten too small or even getting sweets sometimes. But, every once and awhile, she was able to make herself do the right thing and give her extra money away to help other people and today was one of those times.
Well, it sort of was, anyhow. She's been saving up extra money for months, a penny at a time so she could buy little Christmas presents for a few of her friends. but, after she bought the presents, she had a little bit of money left over and she'd decided to give that money to the church so they could use it to help poor people. She knew they did because of the nuns that came around to give out food in the morning and because she knew they ran orphanages and hospitals and stuff like that. Plus, she almost always came here when she had money to give to poorer people because she wasn't really sure where else to go to give money to poorer people where she wouldn't feel like she was leaving somebody out.
It felt good to be helping people, especially around Christmastime and she was practically skipping down the aisle as she made her way to the front of the church in search of a priest to whom she could hand over the ten pennies that were clutched in her small fist. A few ladies sitting in the pews shot her sharp looks as they sat, probably waiting for the Christmas eve service even though it wasn't going to start for at least an hour. She grinned back at them and waved with her free hand, chirping a cheery "Merry Chris'mas!" as she went along. When she finally made it to the front, she glanced around for a priest or a nun in their funny clothes and hat things, but the only ones she saw looked like they were probably busy and she didn't want to bother them when they were probably trying to get ready for for their Christmas eve service, so she walked up to the altar to look at some of their pretty decorations while she waited for a priest or a nun who didn't look so busy to come along.
