It amazes me that something like political beliefs can cause such anger in people. *shakes head*

Its funny my school is more liberal (minus all the cowboys lol) but its in the heart of conservative CA. Surrounded by feilds and orchards - hell the people who live there used to want to break away from CA to make a new state! So the town has a real weird feel to it but its so much better than my home with is all democratic and super annoying because of it. I hate extreme politics to any side.

Honestly, it doesnt surprise me. Political beliefs can change the world if enough people are behind it. Many political beliefs are based on our own personal social and moral beliefs. They are near and dear to all of us.
I got stuff thrown at me because my beliefs dont go in norm with the very conservative baptist beliefs that many of my fellow schoolmates had. Because had different political beliefs, I was not only against their party, but I must be pretty much against God too.
The thing is this: Our nation has become overly polorized over these sorts of issues. Luckily, with this election, things should start to change for the better. A lot of moderat Democrats replaced very conservative Republicans, and they should be more willing to work together to form a bi-partisan group to get thing moving and fix what is wrong with this country.
All extreems are bad. While I agree with a lot of very liberal views, I readily admit that most of the country doesnt have the same beliefs as me. And I think the democrats get it. They are going to vote with what their constituants want, not what they personally feel. I think they will learn the lesson the Republicans didn't the past 8 years.
Woooo that was a rant. Sorry. Both my parents are poltical science majors, and I've been really deep in politics since before I could vote.

You know... George Washington warned us... he said that by having political parties would tear the country apart... he said the best way was just to have people's views, and people run... no parties and no having to claim what you are.

My parents did that absentee ballot thingy. I voted for my mom, even though that's illegal, but no one tell! Only on some issues though. My family are die-hard Republicans, you can't even critiscize one of them without my stepdad going off on you.
Myself, I lean towards Republican but if I could vote it'd be on whoever's views were similar to mine.
And on another note, I can't stand those people who try to push their religion or beliefs on me. Just leave me alone!!

Most of my professors are so liberal I don't think they even realize when they are teaching something that they are totally slanting it their way. One of my profs in particular just can't seem to HELP but slide little Bush jokes into his lecture, making most of the class giggle while he stands up there and smirks condescendingly. Just drives me fricken nuts! Teachers are in a position of power and influence, and it isn't right for them to take advantage of it.
I agree, things are getting crazy! I can't remember from which state, but there was this one democrat who actually agreed with a few republican views that are really important to me, but yet some liberal views which I also lean toward. People like this dude need at least help calm both sides down and try to bring people together again.
