A small wrought iron gate in front of the old building makes for a nice hangout.

Alexandreia looked up at the lodging house in front of her, it was weird to be here by herself but the boys and girls were seperated in this neck of the woods. She wasn't nervous, per say, just a little put off that she couldn't stay with her brothers. In Jersey City it had just been one house with two bunkrooms but she wasn't going to complain. She was just glad to have a place to sleep at night. Besides maybe it would be better to be surrounded by girls anyway, who knew. With a sigh she put a hand on the gate and went to step in but tripped over a big rock that had been on the ground. As she stood up and dusted herself off, she muttered to herself, "Perfect fall all over yourself before you even walk in the door, great impression you'll make."

<< New Day >>
Storm couldn't sleep for two reasons, one his younger sister wasn't at the Lodging House yet and he was getting veryu worried, and two it was too hot to even sleep. Storm was even more worried then usual, his sister had never came home late before, and he hoped that she wouldn't start.
Storm leaaned against the gate of the girls Lodging House in the Bronx waiting for his sister to come home soon. Storm was getting impatient so he took a long drag of his ciggarette, and looked around and saw no sign of his sister, Whisper. What could a little six year old be doing at 10:00pm? thought Storm.

Magnet was still carrying Whisper when he made it to the Girtl's Lodging House. He saw the boy, Storm, who he noticed from the Boy's Lodging House, but didn't know why he was standing there.
Looking at Whisper, he noticed she was still sleeping, so he was careful not to wake her. Starting to walk up the steps, he stopped halfway and looked down at Storm.

Whisper fell asleep as soon as she got into Magnet's arms, Whisper was asleep the whole way to the Lodging House, but when he stopped half- way up the stairs she woke up a little bit then fell back asleep.

Storm threw his cigarette at the ground and looked up at Magnet who he remembered as one of the older Bronx newsies like himself. Storm realized that Magnet was holding his sister and reached out to take her and said, "She's my sista."

Magnet nodded and said, "Alright, well she was stuck in Queens, and sittin' on a curb. She got lost so she fell asleep and I thought I should bring her back." He handed Whisper to Storm and started to walk back down the steps and started to make his way to the boys lh.

Storm nodded his head and took Whisper in his arms and saw that she was fast asleep which looked so cute to him. Storm hadn't seen something as cute as Whisper, since she was littler.
Before Magnet walked away he said, "Thanks Magnet."

(new day)
The day was a quiet one as Zoo walked back into the Bronx. She hummed as she walked, thinking about what to sing at her opening tonight. She knew all the boys would be there for Medda, and who could blame them? She sure wouldn't. Maybe go back to some old Irish ballads. The Wearing of the Green could usually get a crowd going. Well, it could get a Boston crowd going, anyway. She pulled a cigarette out of her pocket and - there was nothing to light it with. She fiddled with it as she leaned against a wall, letting her hair down to blow in the cool breeze a bit.

A tanned hand holding a lit match appeared through the gate, dangerously close to the girl's face. Christiana stood leaning on the other side of the gate waiting for the girl to accept it.

Zoo felt the small amount of heat at first, the jumped slightly as she looked over to the burning match. She took the burning stick and pivoted on the wall to see who held it, but not hesitating to get the cigarette in her hand lit. She took a whiff and then smiled and offered some to the girl. "Thanks."

She held up her hand, politely declining her offer as she pulled out her own cigarette and lit it. "No problem. You live here?" She asked motioning back to the lodging house.

She grunted. "Mhmm. Beautiful Bronx." She laughed a bit sarcastically. "Don't mind New York, but its not Boston. How 'bout you? Don't think I've seen you sellin' papers."

Christiana wrinkled her nose. "No, I was just visiting a friend. Boston? What's in Boston?" She hadn't ever been outside of New York City let alone New York state.
