Magnet glared at her the whole time she was telling him about her past. Sure, he felt bad, but he was really getting sick of her beating up on him. Even though he was trying to be nice, he only did it to a certain level, but that level had been pushed.
"Look, I'm sorry 'bout what happened, but I think I should go, ya ain't treatin' me wit' respect, and I'm tryin ta help ya." He stood up and turned around again.

She watched as he stalked off, and fear inside her arose. She didn't want to be all alone again. "Wait," her voice broke through the silence. Her usual confidence had totally disappeared and she looked timid and unsure of herself. "Please, don't leave me....I don't wanna be all alone. I don't know why I said all dose things, i guess it was cuz I had a long day, but really i didn't mean them. Please...just don't leave," She begged, her voice was shaky.

Magnet stopped in his tracks, but didn't turn around just yet, he wanted to see what exactly she had to say.
When her voice started to get shaky, and cracked a bit, his face softened and he turned around. Walking back up to her and sitting down..again, he gave her a hug and said, "I'm sorry. I know ya had a bad day."

She did not pull away this time. Suddenly she felt too exhausted to argue. She leaned her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. In no time, she was sound asleep.

As she fell asleep in his arms, Magnet got a better look at her. She had dark brown hair and beautiful eyes. He smiled to her, even though she couldn't see him. \
He remembered she said she was from Manhattan, but being in Bronx, he didn't want to walk that far. So instead, he was going to bring her to the Bronx LH and let her sleep in his bed. He picked her up and started down the docks towards the LH.
(I'll post at the boys lh)

<< New Day >>
Mystery hadn't been able to sleep tonight, so she decided that she was gonna take a walk to the docks and look at the sky then she was gonna go back to the Lodging House once she got tired, looking out past the docks usually makes her a little tired.
Looking out at past the docks, which made her think of her best friend Maria, who let her stay at her house until her father found her. When her dad found her her beat her a lot, and after a while a old lady found her let her go to New York on a boat. Mystery missed Maria a lot, and sometimes she would wonder what she would be doing right now. Mystery put her bare feet in the water and took hair down from the bun and let it fall down past her shoulders. Mystery put the cabby hat next to her and twirled her hair with her fingers.

Lock was walking around the docks, trying to adjust to the difference from living in New York compared to living on a boat. He had been handling well until he got a job on the docks, and now his old life wouldn't leave his mind.
He quietly sung an old sailors song, "What do you do with a druken' sailor." He sang on. He paused as he saw someone up ahead in the water. You never know what people to expect at the docks so late; sometimes tough men, sometimes people who just liked the ocean at night. As the figure reached up to its head, Jib watched as long hair fell down past her shoulders. "Ahoy." Jib called out, so as not to alarm the person.
He walked closer until he could get a good look at her in the moonlight. "Ah, Ma'am, what brings you to the water?" He stood a few yards back, not wanting to get closer so as not to scare her away.

She was having a good day, well she was trying to make the best of it! She sat down on the boards and (as always) pulled out a cigarette and a match."I'se really gots ta quit smokin "Jade mused to herself as she looked around for a person to chat with, she usauly kept to herself but she was in a great mood!

- New Day -
Jim layed out across the dock, letting his legs dangle lazily over the side several feet above the water. Heaving a great sigh he nearly grinned, completely contented by the sun's radiating warmth on his face and the cool salty breeze blowing in off the water. After three days of straight rain, this was exactly what he needed.
He'd been working all morning hauling crates for some fat ass in a suit, but his toil paid off when the corpulent popinjay gave him a heafty tip. Instead of saving it as extra and continuing to work Jim saw it as an afternoon off, which lead him to the blissful spot he currently found himself in.

NEW DAY Lexi walked to the end of the dock barely supressing a sigh. Reid was supposed to meet her at work earlier when her shift ended so that he could walk her home but he hadn't shown up. She knew he was fine, he could take care of himself but she couldn't figure out why he hadn't come. Now that she was nearly back to the lodging house she'd decided to rest and try to relax a bit before going back. It wasn't that she was overwhelmed but it was a little stressful trying to keep track of all of the girls and making sure they left the house in pairs. She almost wished she had taken up smoking, but then again she'd always heard that it tasted awful so she'd never bothered to try it.

Blink strolled along the river docks, alone against orders. He'd claimed Brook as his selling partner, but once they were out of papers, she was ready to call it a day and claimed a headache from the heat. She'd had this weird distant side to her a lot lately... Blink escorted her back to the lodging house, then beat feet before Jack Kelly could come along and see him leaving again on his own. He could take care of himself, really, and Brook wasn't dumb enough to try leaving the lodging house on her own later. She'd find someone to pair off with if Blink wasn't around.
Ahead of him, he spied a girl at the end of the dock, looking like she'd been carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. Blink, ever the sucker for a pretty face--which this girl possessed in abundance--came up alongside her.
"Now, you should know better," he said, a slight admonishing tone to his voice. "Even a frown deep as that one can't cut your beauty." He hadn't initially recognized her from behind, but as she turned, he realized he knew her. A little, anyway. Lexi was the girl who led Dodger's girls, right? No matter, Blink didn't discriminate when it came to flirting. Except in Brooklyn. Besides, Lexi's little brother was among the missing, she could probably do with a little cheering up.

Lexi turned as someone spoke from behind her and a smile crossed her face when she saw Blink. Although they'd never formally been introduced she recognized him from seeing him around a few times. Plus, Perry had known everything about any of the newsies involved with the strike and had told her on a daily basis about every single one of them. She was sure even if she'd never seen him she could still pick him out of a line up and not just because of the patch he wore over one of his eyes. Laughing a bit at his comment she nodded his head, "I don't think I've ever been told that before."
She wondered what he was doing out here by himself but then again she wasn't one to question that especially considering she was doing the same. Of course she hadn't planned on walking around alone but it really couldn't be helped at least not at this moment. Pushing a hand through her, she gazed at him a moment before speaking again. "What brings you out to my neck of the woods?" Her tone gave away the fact that she was joking around with him.

"No real reason," he said with a dismissive shrug, pulling a pair of cigarettes from his shirt pocket. "Just regular ol' wanderlust, I guess." He popped one cig between his lips and offered the other to Lexi, while rooting around for his matches. "Gets a little tiresome, always goin' around in pairs. Sometimes a person needs a little space to think, you know? Hard to do that with someone hanging off you all the time."
Finally finding a wood match buried in his pocket, he pulled it out and struck a flame with his thumbnail, lighting up his cigarette. He took a deep drag and held it a moment before exhaling to one side, consciously keeping the smoke from blowing into Lexi's face.
"I'm guessing you know what I mean, seein' as how you're here by yourself." He took a moment to swipe at the sweat that collected under his eye patch before asking, carefully, "Any more news about your--ah, about the missing kids?"

Lexi shook her head slightly when he offered her a cigarette, "Thank you, but I don't smoke." She blushed a bit when he pointed out the fact that she was alone, she didn't want to admit that her brother had either forgotten about her or just decided to ditch her. She felt like it was a slap in the face to her but to admit it would mean admitting that they weren't the tight knit family they once had been and she wasn't ready to do that.
"I know what you mean. It does get a bit tiresome walking around with someone all the time, but I know it's for the best. I'd hate to have someone get hurt because they decided not to listen." Forcing a slight laugh, "Suppose I can't really say that though considering I'm out here by myself. Guess I thought I would be alright at least until it got dark."
Lexi tried not to flinch when he almost mentioned Perry, she could tell he didn't want to upset her and that was the last thing she wanted people to see when they looked at her. She hated feeling as lost as she did without him and she was glad she was so good at hiding it. At least for the most part. People who knew her, knew it was affecting her a lot more than she was letting on. "No, we haven't. How about you?"

When she turned down his cigarette, he shrugged off-handedly and tucked it behind his ear. "Yeah, I'm thinkin' of cuttin' down myself." As soon as the words tumbled out of his mouth, he almost turned around to see who said them. Where had that come from? He smoked like a chimney, damn near as much as Racetrack smoked, and quitting had never crossed his mind. Weird.
"I know what you mean. It does get a bit tiresome walking around with someone all the time, but I know it's for the best. I'd hate to have someone get hurt because they decided not to listen. Suppose I can't really say that though considering I'm out here by myself. Guess I thought I would be alright at least until it got dark."
Blink nodded, his mind briefly touching on Brook again. If she did decide to go somewhere and didn't find someone to pair up with while he was gone, and something did happen to her, Blink would never forgive himself for it. When Lexi mentioned being alright by herself, though, Blink straightened up a little and gave her a cockeyed grin. "Well... you got me with ya now," he reminded her. "And the Bronx newsies ain't exactly slow. They got somewhere to go, they'll find someone to go with 'em. You and Dodger keep 'em in line pretty good."
"No, we haven't. How about you?"
Blink frowned guilty and shook his head in the negative. "Nah, nothin' new. But they say no news is good news--at least when you ain't tryin' to peddle your papes, anyway. I was there when Sweets came back. She said everyone that was taken was still alive. They're hard on 'em, but New York kids? We can take hard. Even the little ones, there ain't no harder kids in all of America. All the world, maybe."
He took another drag and exhaled through the side of his mouth as he touched her shoulder gently. "Don't worry, girl. Your brother's gonna be fine. We'll get 'em back. He'll be back home and in your hair again before you know it."
