[Alexandreia Halliway]

Lexi laughed when Blink said that she had him now. It was always nice to walk around with handsome guys even if she knew that they were cads. For some reason even cads looked at her as just friend material and didn't approach her. Not that she minded it most of the time, it was nice to have friends who cared about her and could help her out of a jam if necessary. "Thanks, I appreciate it."

"We keep most of them in line...Dodger actually moved the boys into the girls house which is making things a lot easier and a lot harder at the same time." Laughing, Lexi pushed her hair back, "River actually asked me if this meant I was going to clean up after him."

Shaking her head a bit Lexi couldn't help the smile that crossed her face. She was starting to grow close with people at the lodging house and it was really helping her get through this period in her life. When Blink mentioned Sweets, Lexi's ears perked up she hadn't heard about Sweets return and as soon as she processed that her heart started racing and she wanted to find out if she knew anything about her brother. Unfortunately for Lexi she was also to kind to rail this girl with a million questions after the ordeal she'd been through. "Thank god they're alright!"

Lexi offered Blink a sad smile when he mentioned Perry, "I know. It's just....difficult. Not being with him and not hearing his stories and worrying about him every minute of every day." Lexi's shoulders sagged for a moment but then she thought of Sweets coming back and her hopes lifted just a bit.

[Kid Blink]

When he spoke of Sweets, Blink recognized the way Lexi's eyes lit up, and he cursed himself. Jack had told them explicitly not to spread things around--but, come on, Lexi was pretty much a leader. Surely she'd be an exception, especially seeing how it was family of hers that went missing. Just to be safe, though, he quickly added, "But you didn't hear any of that from me, okay?"

"I know. It's just....difficult. Not being with him and not hearing his stories and worrying about him every minute of every day."

Blink nodded slowly. He didn't have any siblings, and usually he didn't care about it one way or the other. Sometimes he'd find himself wishing he'd had a little brother to look after--or, more specifically, to knock around and tease--but he'd always reminded himself that he didn't need kin in order to knock around and tease people. But in times like this, when he got to watch people lose their family, or lose friends as close as family, he was really, fervently glad he didn't.

"Well," he said finally, his words coming in a slow and measured pace as he thought them over, "I can't tell you not to worry, 'cause you'll do that anyway. And I could say that you'll have him back soon--and you will--but that doesn't make it all better now. But one thing I can say is that everybody is doing everything they can to find our friends and get them back, your brother included."

Lexi gave him a sweet smile and nodded her head, "I'll never say a word." And she wouldn't because that wasn't who she was, besides she was sure that if she saw Dodger before she'd seen Blink he would have told her anyway. He wasn't the type of person to keep something like that from her even if he hadn't appointed her a co-leader.

As Blink spoke his reassuring words washed over her and they did actually offer comfort because she knew he was right and no one had been able to put into words what she'd been feeling quite the way he just did. She wondered if he'd ever lost someone close but would never ask a question like that because it was too personal for most newsies. "Thank you," She said quietly as she placed a hand on his arm to show her appreciation for what he said.

She was glad they'd bumped into each other because although she'd seen him around a few times she'd never really had the oppurtunity to have a conversation with him. Most of what she knew of him was second hand and she thought most of it was trivial gossip by scorned ex's. Women had a way of twisting the truth to fit their emotions. She supposed to some extent he may have hurt them but he didn't seem like the type to do it on purpose, but she would keep in mind that he was a flirt but could probably make a wonderful friend.

[Kid Blink]

Blink smiled at her gratitude and place his hand comfortingly over hers for a moment before turning to look out at the water again.

"Someone was sayin' a while ago that Racetrack tried to set up a bettin' pool on how long it'd take for us to get the kids back, but he got mad and had to close it, 'cause no one was takin' any of the long shots. Everyone was bettin' we'd get 'em back sooner than later, an', you know, that'd just mean everyone shared the pot." Blink chuckled. "Race didn't like that, 'parently."

Lexi nodded her head to his comment about Race, whom she hadn't personally met but had heard a lot about. He seemed as though he would be a mighty interesting character and someone she looked forward to meeting. "I don't think it's a bet I would take either. I know we're going to get them back. There's too many of us with too much riding on us getting them back for anyone to stand in our way."
