His lips curved and he hugged her, hell he loved Flanna to bits. "I still owe you a readin' lesson don't I love.." He sighed, she was right, it was just the Guild but it was more than that. Things had changed and his skill had gotten better, which was not going to get him anywhere but in jail.

Flanna laughed and hugged him back. "Ethan was teaching me. I'm learning on my own..I'll read to you sometime to show how far I've come." She pat his back. "But I do think you owe Moira a talking to as soon as you can."

He nodded and laughed, he was average height and rather inconspicuous. He rubbed her back and pulled away, "Aye, love. Read to me and show me how far you've come. Sorry I didn't get to keep my promise.." He winked at her and then nodded seriously as the conversation turned back to Moira. "Aye-- I'll have too.. it's can't wait anymore."

"Aye, aye." She sighed. "I have to get going. It's my turn to cook in the household..just find me and keep me informed, okay?" She kissed his cheek lightly.

He nodded and hugged her gently, "Go Flan... " she was small enough he didn't have to bend down, his lips curved. "Be careful, aye love? Even if you are what you are to Marauder--- you can never be sure about Corsair..."

Flanna smiled and nodded. "I know..I'll watch my back." She grinned and was gone.

<neeww daayy> Mooch strolled along the paths her eyes wandering over the scenery. She hadn't yet counted the money in her pocket but she hoped that maybe today she wouldnt have to go theiving. There didn't seem to be many of the hoity toity type out today, probably because with all those petticoats and such they'd overheat. She smiled at the thought and rolled her sleeves up to her elbow. "Too bad you gots a fur coat huh?" she said to the cat who trailed behind her. She smiled when he seemed to ignore her comment. Cats. she shook her head and chuckled quietly. Spooky seemed to not like being laughed at and he walked quicker than her now. When they approached a tree he walked off the path and over to the tree where he sat down in the shade. Mooch rolled her eyes and followed him. "We sittin heah?" she asked and in response the cat layed down with his back to her and rested his head on his paws. "Okay, if you say so" she smiled and sat down with her back against the tree, "but i aint savin ya if anyone comes to chase us off." She had to admit, the shade was nice after a workin in the sun all day and since the cat wasn't moving she decided to just enjoy it. She pulled the money out of her pocket and started counting it. well, its enough for food.. she thought eh, who needs a roof over their head anyway. not like its gonna rain or nothin plus we have that spot thats covered... she closed her eyes and set her head back against the tree. besides, if i choose shelter over food spooky'll kill me she smiled at the thought before she sighed happily and let the cool air of the shade wash over her.

Reid was humming to himself as he walked along the paths, enjoying the sun on his neck. He smiled when he noticed a girl sitting under the shade with her cat, at least he assumed it was her cat. "Mind if I join you, it's getting a bit hot out today." He smiled at her, he wasn't usually someone who would approach a girl but since moving to New York he'd become a lot more confident of himself.

Mooch looked up. She hadn't really expected anyone to approach her since she had left the path. The cat looked up lazily for a moment and then put his head back on his paws like nothing had happened. She looked him over and after a moment smiled. "shoih, why not. Dere's enough shade to go around" she said and moved over a little so he'd have more room. "Whats yer name?" she asked curiously, she wasnt used to any sort of attention and usually it made her suspicious but she had a good feeling about this guy. and i could probably outrun him if he tries anythin...

Reid gave her a smile as he sat in the shade and removed his hat before running his hand through it, trying to unmat some hair from his forehead. "Reid, you?"
He'd never earned a nickname and he didn't mind, he wasn't really one who liked nicknames. Besides he'd never really gotten into any trouble and the only thing they had to worry about was a few people in Jersey City looking for Lexi, which is why they never gave out their last name.

She watched him and found herself smiling. stop smilin like an idiot, he didnt even say anythin funny! she told herself. She straightned her face out and pretended to be buisnesslike for a moment. "Me birth name is Evelyn, but people calls me Mooch most of da time." she paused. "oh and dat dere's spooky," she said nodding at the cat. "Think he's angry at me" she added with a chuckle when spookys tail twitched a little in the grass.

He didn't notice right away that she had trouble wiping the smile off her face, he didn't usually take notice of such stuff. "Nice to meet'cha Mooche." He glanced at the cat, although he was more of a dog person he didn't dislike cats. "Cute...why do you think she's or is it he's? Well anyway why do you think Spooky's mad at you?"

Mooch grinned. "He doesnt take too kindly ta bein made fun of, and i laughed at him" she stated, humor in her eyes. "He was bein a brat and wandered away from me, but then again if he hadnt sat there i wouldnta metcha." she pointed out. "If he was in a better mood i bet he'd like you"she said and spookys only response was a twitch of his ear. "He's still ignorin me" she said with a mock sigh. "i'll prove it" she grinned, "spooky how will i go on witout ya! i can't take it!". The cat ignored her and flicked his ear again like her voice was a fly buzzing around his ear that he was trying to be rid of. "yup, told ya" She smiled and turned back to face Reid "so where ya from Reid?" she asked. She felt kind of weird with most of her hair up which left her neck half exposed and she was cooling off in the shade. She reached up and tookk her hat off slowly, letting the hair that hadn't already fallen out while she'd been running around today fall down around her face as she placed the hat on the ground next to her.

Reid grinned when she began talking about her cat as if it was a human being. He found that most people acted that way around animals, he knew a few who had back in Jersey City. "Oh, me? I'm from Jersey City but I'm beginning to find this city a lot more interesting. There's just so many places to see. Especially when you've never been here before. How about you? Born here or did you move here?"
He hadn't paid much attention to her accent so he wasn't sure if she was a New Yorker or not. Besides he'd found that a lot of New Yorkers didn't sound as if they had the accent where as others you could pick out of a crowd of ten. He'd met one person from New York before he'd moved here and they'd been Brooklyn born with a deep accent to prove it.

Mooch smirked, "ah, from da udder side. Well, welcome to New Yawk. Yeah dere are alot of places ta see and its pretty nice on da surface." she paused. "Jest dun go wanderin around at night in dark alleys witout someone who knows dey're way." She sincerely hoped that he would take her advice, she didnt want him to have to have that experience while he was still new around town. He seemed to nice to deserve the things that happened around here to unprepared people. "Me? born and raised on da streets of new yawk" she smiled. "So if ya need a guide, i'd be happy ya show ya round sometime. Grew up on dese streets and i never stayed in one place foah moah dan a few weeks at a time so i know most of da best places around. Ya know, if ya want." A light breeze ran through the shade, blowing some of her hair into her face. She quickly reached up to push the hair back, not liking the thought that her hair in her face probably made her look ridiculous.
