"Dats betteh, I suppose," she said thoughtfully. She grinned but didn't say anything about the running. "Come on Rylet, its still cold and its gettin' late," she tugged his hand dragging him towards Queens.

** New Day **
Smalls had been wandering the city for over an hour. Coming upon the Manhattan harbor she couldn't help but grin at how it compared to the grungy Brooklyn docks. Taking a seat on the edge she leaned back on her hands, wishing she weren't out of cigarettes.

((NEW DAY))
Skittery was sitting on a stack of shipping crates toward the edge of a dock. He was staring out over the harbor, enjoying the steam rising from the ships, the Statue in the distance. The steam floated up into the sky, taking forever to dissipate due to the cold, crisp weather. He loved the cold - it meant winter was just around the corner. Winter always seemed cleaner - the stench of refuse and sweat was gone, and snow just gave everything a pristine feeling.
He puffed on a cigar - something rare for him but he had had an open chance to lift one from a vendor. With every drag he could feel the smoke burn at his throat and lungs, such a nice warm feeling in the chill air.

*new day*
Thief strolled along, her hands deep in the pockets of her trousers. As she walked along, she kept her eyes open for a potential 'victim'. Spotting an elderly gentleman, she smirked. Picking up her pace, she "bumped" into him.
"Scuzi, signor." she gasped, her eyes flying wide as her hand reached into his pocket to retreive his money bag. "I didn't see you there."
The old man chuckled, oblivious to the fact that he had just been pickpocketed. "That's quite alright, dear. No harm done."
And he went on his merry way. Thief watched him go, smirking.
"That was way too easy." she said, shoving the money into her pocket and continued to go about her business.

Mollie watched the girl and her technique critically. She smirked.... the bump'n'go. A classic move, but it lacked creativity and was oftentimes noticed.
She made a move towards the girl, watching where she'd put her money, and followed her about, her eyes apparantly set on a paper she was reading. Waiting for the girl to stop walking, maybe look at some things, she stared at her paper, occasionally flipping it over or turning a page. Eventually she found the time was right and dipped her hand into the girl's pocket, not touching her at all and positive she hadn't been noticed. A few seconds later she tapped the girl on the shoulder. "These yours?" she asked, holding out the coins she'd just pilfered with a smirk. "Before you say no, check your pocket." ((I hope you dont mind that I speeded things up a bit.))

Thief jumped, not expecting to be spoken to. Then, as she registered what the other person said, her eyes narrowed. "Che l'inferno?" she snapped, patting down her pockets. Then she noticed the girl holding the money bag she had just rightfully stolen. "That's mine. Give it back."
((nope, not at all. ;D))

Smirking, Mollie dangled the small bag in front of the girl before pocketing it. "What, this? It was that man's a few moments ago... shouldn't I give it back to him?" she asked, retrieving it once again and inspecting it. She glanced up at the girl, handing her the bag. "You know its thieves like you who give us all a bad name... youse made it a little obvious, dont ya think?" she asked.

Thief snorted and stamped her foot, knowing full well that she sounded like a little baby, but was too hungry to care. She snatched the bag from the other girl and shoved it in her pocket. "I'm not usually that sloppy." she admitted, albiet a little reluctantly. "I was hungry and got careless." she sighed. "Scip always did say that hunger would be my downfall."

Mollie rolled her eyes at the girl. "Of course your not," she said. "And who's Scip?" she asked, her hands going into her own pockets as she waited for her answer. It hadn't been a very good day for her, but she did love to catchother theives in the act. It was so fun... always a highlight.

Thief rolled her eyes as well. "Well, how would you know what my usual habits are, huh?" she kicked at the ground in irritation. "Scip was my half brother. He taught me everything I know." she paused, eyeing the other girl suspiciously. "What do you care anyway?"
((sorry it took so long for me to reply))

((Its fine)) Mollie shrugged, arcing her foot in circles on the dusty street. "Youse give thieves a bad name if yer too obvious about it. Sides, whens a little advice evah done ya wrong?" she asked with a wink. She was slightly amused that she was getting under the girls skin, even if it was only a little.

The girl was right, no matter how much Thief was unwilling to admit it. "I guess. I'm not used to the way things are done here yet." she eyed the other girl. "Or who you can trust."

Mollie shrugged and looked around, leaning back against the side of a vendor's cart. "Youse cant really trust no one, not even after theys given yer their word... see, simple promises of trust mean nothin unless their backed up by somethin... some piece of information or some past uh... whats de word... actions deys made." she said, taking the knife from under the waistband of her skirt and an apple from one of her deep pockets. She sliced off a piece of the apple and offered it to Thief. "Want some?" she asked.

Thief snatched the apple away from Mollie as fast as she could and shoved it into her mouth. She stopped short when she realized how rude she was being. "Sowwy." she managed, chewed then swallowed. "I guess I got a lot to learn, huh?"
