Mollie laughed slightly, shaking her head. "Yeah, probably." she said with a wink. If nothing else she was amusing. "When was de last time youse ate?" she asked, sliding the knife back down.

Thief shrugged. "Three days ago, I think. Right after I got into town."

Hattie frowned. "Lets go get you some food from a restaurant..." she said, pushing off the cart and beginning to walk, looking over her shoulder to see if Thief was following. "I'll treat."

Thief bit her lip in indecisiveness. On one hand, she had never liked to be in debt to anybody for anything; on the other, she was really hungry. So, once again, she let her stomach decide for her. "Approvazione." she said, nodding as she followed after Mollie.
((where to?))

((Hmm. Tibbys is a bit busy.... so... maybe Molivos? I know its far, but... meh. ))
Mollie smiled a bit, "Good. Now youse said you jest got in town... where were ya before?" she asked, looking about the street. Now was a good time for her to try to get some work done, she'd look inconspicous. "And if I stop just follow my lead. Stop with me, pretend to be interested in something." she added.

((sounds good))
Thief snorted. "I thought you said being too 'obvious' gave thieves a bad name." she shook her head. "I lived in Rome, actually."
She followed Mollie, rolling her eyes. "Dinner and a lesson? Dovete essere un san."

Mollie cocked an eyebrow at the girl. "I didnt say nothin about bein obvious, I just told you to follow my lead. Act interested in a particular postcard or somethin and I'll do the same. You'll see me unbutton my sleeve when Im ready to go... and when I am dont run off, put yer postcard down slowly and then look at something else, then walk away with me. Ok?" she asked, looking about yet again.

Thief shook her head. "No, I meant with... oh, never mind." she sighed and folded her arms, "Alright, captain, ready when you are."

Mollie nodded and noticed a well dressed couple who were thouroughly engrossed in a book that one of the vendors was selling. She cocked her head towards the stand and slid her knife up the sleeve of her shirt.
"Scuse me miss," she said, using her left hand and across the woman, under the book and grabbed a small book-like publication. The woman looked at her, first somewhat irritated, then the look of irritation softened and she smiled slightly when she saw that it was just a girl trying to reach for a book. "No problem, dear." she said.
Mollie looked at the back of the book, giving herself about ten seconds to scan it, then opened the inside flap to read what was presumably continued. Her right fingers were working to slide the blade out, only a little. She had been standing close to the woman, hand on her hip. As she moved her hand down she sliced through the thin bit of fabric on the strap and the purse slipped away silently.
Mollie glanced up once more, checking to see that the woman hadn't felt anything. She then bent down to scratch her leg and slid the purse to the ground, shuffling it to her other side with her foot, where she picked it up with the other hand and threw her coat over her arm to cover it.
"Sorry again, miss." she said, putting the book back and looking at thief, nodding for her to finish up. The woman just waved Mollie off with a brush of her hand... no need to talk to her any more. Mollie cocked her head to the side, urging Thief to get about it more quickly.

Thief watched in interest out of the corner of her eye as Mollie hawked a purse off a fancy looking lady. She was impressed. It was something that she had never really gotten the hang of. It always ended in her getting caught and thrown in prison for a week. Much to the amusment of her 'family' back in Rome. She saw Mollie nod at her, set down the trinket she was looking at and walked away.

Mollie didn't look back as she hooked her free arm around Thief's and walked away normally, then ducked around into an alley. "All right, time to see what she had." she said when they reached the end of the alley, opening the purse. She smiled when she pulled out a fancy necklace of pearls and gold. "Well well, this is my lucky day." she said, holding the necklace up. The necklace itself was beautifal even if it wouldn't fetch any money... although it surely would. She continued to go through the purse... an embroidered handkerchief, some rouge and several dollars. She smiled to herself. "That was a pretty damn good mark." she said, putting the belonging back into the purse. "See anything other then the necklace that you like?" she asked Thief. She could have something if she really wanted it... but Mollie liked the necklace. And needed it.

Theif bit back a yelp as Mollie pulled her into a dark alley. She watched as a necklace, money, and a handkerchief came out of the bag. She reached out for the handkerchief and a few of the money bills, enough for a few days worth of food anyway. "This okay?" she asked.

She nodded, "Yeah, dats fine." she said, keeping a mental count of what was left. She put the necklace on herself but tucked it under her shirt, there wasn't any way she was going to lose it now. Even if she didn't keep it it could fetch near ten dollars. "So you wanna go to lunch or do ya wanna go see Blue?" she asked, then realized that the girl might not know who he was, "Hes the one who pays me for things I take." she said.

Thief shrugged. She was interested to see how things were handled here as aposed to back home. "I'll come with you to see this Blue, then we can go to lunch."

She nodded. "All right den. Lets go," she said, leading her thorogh a tangle of alleys and streets until she got into a more run down neighborhood, finding the alley she needed she slipped in, knocking on the door. A slot in the door opened. "Hey Blue." she said, removig the necklace. And sliding it through. A hand took the necklace and there was silence for near thirty seconds. Five dollars in bills came out. "Not enough." she said, pushing the bills back through. Thirty more seconds. Ten dollars. "Is that all yer gonna give me for it?" she asked. A sigh from the other side. Three more bills. "Thats better." she said, looking to Thief. "This is anuddah pickpocket. She might come ta see ya sometime." she said. "If she remembers where dis place is..." she added. The slot closed. "Well, lunch?" she asked.
