Racetrack rolled his eyes, ignoring his disabled friend. "Shore did Rosie," he said in regard to her question about the tracks. "I aint gonna be skippin' lunch this week that's for shore." He grinned as he picked up the menu, scanning through it for something he really liked but rarely could afford.

Rose smiled, "Ha, well congratulations, Race! I'd be hittin' ya up to buy me lunch, but Jack's bein' a good friend and already lendin' me some money," her smile began to fade, "Ya know, it hasn't been the best time for sellin'."
She looked down at her pocket, and sighed at her lack of money, "Ah well, what can ya do?"

Hawkeye nodded toward Rose, "Eh, pretty good, you?"
She glanced awkwardly at Race at Crutchy's comment, glad when Race changed the topic. She smirked as he picked up the menu, adding in, "And I won't be skipping dinner, right?" She raised her eyebrows at the Italian.

Crutchy shrugged and then grinned at Race before whispering, "You know I'm teasing ya, right then?'And he looked back to the others and sighed. "Well..hopefully headlines'll get better and times will change. Who knows? Maybe we'll get big news any day now."

Race gave Crutchy a weird look, not at all fond of close whispering. Shifting slightly in his seat he just nodded slightly at him, turning his attention to Hawkeye. "Hey I keep my promises, alright? You jist wait. . ." he said with a smirk, returning his gaze to his menu.

Crutchy shrugged not sure why Race was being so uptight..it wasn't like him normally. Had he done something wrong? He kept quiet for then, pretending to look at a menu. Tension never really sat well with him.

Jack sighed and patted Crutchy on the shoulder a bit. His friend was well...disabled. He couldn't help it. He leaned over and ruffled Rose's hair.
"Buck up there, Rosie...things are always okay in the end." Even if he didn't believe it.

Rose looked over at Jack and smiled, "Ya think so?" Rose gazed at Jack for a moment, she wanted to believe him, but something inside just kept telling her otherwise.

Hawkeye rolled her eyes, smiling slightly, "Yeah, yeah..." She looked to the rest of the group, "Hey, you guys know what you're ordering yet?" She picked up and menu and flipped a couple of pages, reading through the options.

Race sighed, noticing Crutchy's silence he gave him an apologetic look. He knew he meant well. Putting down his menu he grinned. "I agree wit Jack, I mean, look at me.. Couldn't even afford supah last night, and heah I am today deciding on what kinda fancy dessert I'm gonna get." It wasn't a conscious act, but he was often able to turn a conversation toward himself.

Jack shrugged. "We ordered...but it should come out in an hour or so." He laughed. He was feeling good for the first time in a long time.

"Hopefully sooner, I'm starved. Haven't eaten for a while." She looked around the table with a smile on her face, maybe Jack's right. Things will turn out right eventually... she hoped.

Hawkeye nodded in response to Jack, "They've slowed up a bit 'round here," she looked around the restaurant, "Hey, whatever happened to that girl, uh... Flo, that's it. She said she worked here. Haven't seen her since... a really long time ago."
